*** corporate contracts Roadie to do their Same Day deliveries from *** retail stores. A separate BBB Complaint was already filed against ***. On May 1 and May 3, I had two terrible incidents with Roadie delivery people. On May 1, I placed an order with the *** Store in ********** ** for Same Day delivery service. There was no delivery update after the order was placed. After several calls and the runaround from the store manager, the Roadie delivery person order dumped my order on a bench outside my senior apartment building and left. Despite my instructions to ring the front door intercom to be admitted to the building, the delivery person just dumped my heavy packages on a bench and had the gall to take a photo of it. I contacted Roadie customer service and the store manager. ********************** customer service is overseas and they asked me to provide details which I did. The second incident occurred on May 3 at approximately 9pm. The Roadie delivery person called my personal cell phone to complain that he couldn't find the entrance, was using a cane, and wanted me to come to his car in the dark parking lot. He spoke very little English. I went to the building front door. He was just getting there. I took my package and left. He cursed at me, using the * word, because I refused to allow him to take my picture. He then got into the building and got a resident to harass me on the intercom three times to bring the package back so the driver could scan it in. I called Oaklyn ***. The manager advised me to call the police if this character returned to the building and to report it to *** corporate. She was concerned for my safety. I then received multiple calls and texts from Roadie customer service asking me to confirm that I received the package. I blocked all of the numbers and asked them to cease contacting me.Initial Complaint

I have worked for roadie for almost over 2 years and i do believe this company discriminates and punishes drivers for their own amusement they have never reimbursed me for mileage which is protected under California state law Prop 22 Ive been cancelled on more then 30 times on gigs by ******* and ********** and I have 5 star rating and people have been picked over me cause I do know other drivers that work for roadie and they even proved that roadie is giving gigs to specific drivers and also have kept my earrings past the date they need to payout and have been denied by customer service which never help the situation please this needs to be addressed Ive lost a lot of money and gas working for roadie and they need to be held accountableInitial Complaint

On 10/11/2023 I placed an order for a delivery of flowers that were already paid for at the florist that were waiting to be picked up to deliver to a grave at the cemetery which was A FEW METERS AWAY FROM THE FLORIST DOWN THE STREET. This was a few-minute gig. Over the course of the day, ROADIE drivers proceeded to drop the order MULTIPLE TIMES due to not finding the address, simply refusing to deliver the order or by the time they finally picked up the order and hours later tried to deliver it, the cemetery was closed. Finally another driver delivered the order THE NEXT DAY. I find out that ROADIE charged me FIVE TIMES for the same delivery. Furthermore, I made several attempts on 10/11/2023 to contact ROADIE through their site and their phone system (which did not have a live agent and instead is run by chat bots) as soon as the charges were showing pending on my account. I am attaching that email documentation. ROADIE NEVER responded to ANY of my requests for clarification or for a refund. I am having trouble understanding how ROADIE believes multiple transactions on the same day for ONE flower delivery are valid. It was ROADIE error that their drivers could not deliver my flowers multiple times yet they charged me multiple times for one delivery. They also refused to respond to customer requests during and after the delivery. To this day, ROADIE provided ZERO communication or response to me. This is plain negligence and unethical business practice. I was $91.49 charged to deliver flowers to a location a few minutes away walking distance from ****************. Ive been driving with Roadie for about 6 months. Have over ***** deliveries and still a 5-Star rating. I have only ever received one complaint and the customer was in the wrong.Then one day I made a ********** delivery to ********************** The guard couldnt get ahold of customer, neither could I so wouldnt let me in. I had to contact Roadie support via live chat to manually setup a return. But the support agent Cancelled the wrong delivery. But they had me finish that delivery and take photos which did and return other to store and take photos which did and sent to them. Which I did.Next day I get logged out of account when I try to login says account Perm Deactivated and then I get a email saying account deactivated for Specifically, it was reported that you allegedly created return gigs without making valid attempts to deliver.. Which is 100% not true only returns are Businesses which are Clearly CLOSED Or gated and guard gated communities where I always try to call from directory call box if name is even on there 85% of time they aint on the listing. I then try to call them on the phone and send a text.I have PROOF as have screenshots of several texts messages I have sent. I also have taken video on a couple occasions of me trying to call through call box The one person that complained. I tried to call via call box but went DIRECTLY to voicemail I then, called her from phone and again from my phone and then sent her a text message. She didnt respond to text until approx 40 minutes later and was extremely rudeI filed an appeal immediately with tons of proof/evidence. I have yet to receive a email even acknowledging they received my appeal let alone it resolved account still deactivated costing me over $100 a day in lost revenue.Initial Complaint

I am independent contractor thats been working with Roadie for the last three years, I just really ran into a big problem with them on yesterday. Theyve never done this before but after reading the former complaints, I know that Im being singled out for two days now Ive been trying to get reimbursed for driving 80 miles a total of yesterday back-and-forth because the app had glitches and they wont reimburse me for my money driving to other parishes and they keep asking me over and over what happened. They are harassing me intelligently like I dont know or have a womans intuition that Im being ignored tortured by these people it wouldnt be so bad that if they would reimburse you more than three dollars for driving somewhere that it takes three dollars plus more to get to and all they reimburse you was three dollars then you have to wait to be paid later on in the day Was that yesterday after traveling so far while trying to make money if you ask me, they pray on people of low income because they know they need the money and will take the risk to have some money in their pockets. I ordered a printer online 3/6/24 from Best Buy and asked that it be delivered to my apartment. ***** was to deliver it but on 3/8, the day it was to be delivered, I received a text indicating that a gig delivery service, specifically Roadie.com, would be delivering the printer that day. I had never heard of Roadie. At 1:23pm, an incoming call came in and dropped immediately. No voicemail. A few minutes later, I received a text: Your delivery from Best Buy could not be delivered and is being returned. I live in a secure apartment complex. Without an ***, entry into the individual apartment buildings and the mailroom is not possible. ***** and other carriers have the *** to deliver things to the mailroom. But the Roadie delivery person was so inept and uninformed that they didnt think to stop at the main office, which they passed twice entering and exiting the complex. Within 7 minutes of the call, I left a voicemail at the number that previously called me. I then spent 30 minutes with Roadies customer service - ************. They contacted the deliver person who said they were 20 minutes away from my apartment and were returning the printer as undeliverable to the Westminster Best Buy where they picked it up. After two hours on the phone with at least four Best Buy reps at some unknown distant (likely out-of-state location), they said the order was canceled and my money would be refunded. To keep a Geek Squad installation appointment I had for this Friday, I again ordered the same printer and had it delivered to the Best Buy 1.5 miles from me. When I picked it up today, only the charges for the 2 printer orders appeared on my bank account, no pending refund. I was told the Westminster store still hadnt listed the first printer as returned, necessary to get my refund. I will likely have to drive 20 minutes to that store to resolve this. Roadie is inept and destroying BBuys reputation. Roadie could have easily delivered it but were too lazy or inept to do so.Initial Complaint

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Roadie regarding their failure to pay me for services rendered as an independent contractor. Despite completing deliveries in May and June of 2023, as well as January 2024, I have not received payment for my work.In direct violation of Prop 22 and my rights as an independent contractor, Roadie has unlawfully withheld my earnings without my consent or justification. Additionally, they have taken money from my earnings in May and June, claiming an overpayment without providing any evidence or agreement from my end.Not only does this action by Roadie constitute a clear violation of independent contractor laws, but it also amounts to retaliation, which is illegal under ********** labor laws. As an independent contractor, I am entitled to fair compensation for my services, and Roadies actions have blatantly disregarded this right.I demand immediate restitution for the following amounts:May 31st, 2023: $173.94 June 7th, 2023: $451.30 January 4th, 2024: $58.85, $8.00, $9.22 Total: $701.31 These earnings were rightfully earned through my diligent work, and I insist that Roadie refund me the full amount without further delay. I request that Roadie issue payment to my PayPal account ending in *822, the designated method of payment, as soon as possible.If Roadie fails to comply with this request, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action to recover the unpaid earnings and seek appropriate damages for their unlawful conduct.I urge the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter promptly and ensure that Roadie upholds its obligations to independent contractors in accordance with the law.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I ordered an item thru BestBuy. They used Roadie to deliver the item. My item arrived reeking of cigarettes and marijuana. There is zero reason anything should arrive smelling like marijuana. For anyone that has a prescription for "medical marijuana", non of the actual "medical marijuana" is smokable. So, Roadie is using drivers that not only smoke while driving, but are likely DRIVING HIGH. This is not acceptable, from a basic health/safety perspective, but also on a personal level. I am highly allergic to marijuana and am now itching from the contact with it (this can continue for up to 24 hours, and there is nothing I can take to reduce/eliminate the itching). In short, delivery drivers have NO BUSINESS DRIVING HIGH.Initial Complaint

Company is discriminating me out of equal employment opportunities. I have documented repeated days of denials of requests to work ie get selected for deliveries. They always give them to other people. I started out doing this after it first started and have made over ***** deliveries but now since theyve become more popular theyve completely left me behind and are discriminating me from work. I also cant file for unemployment because Im not even a legitimate employee. This is how millionaires are becoming billionaires by slaving out the poverty of being trapped in lower class and they face no repercussions because theyre all hiding behind faceless apps with robots and htmls for customer service.
