You and your in accurate reporting have damaged my livelihood. In conformance to my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), I am requesting you to provide me with a validation of the debt you are reporting on my credit profile. As such, we do not collect or maintain copies of contracts between consumers and their creditors. Not all companies choose to report account ********************** to Equifax. Those that do report on a regular basis appear on the credit report. However, through our investigation process, we are able to contact the furnishers of the information and either confirm or correct the data reporting on the file. Once a request for verification of a disputed item(s) has been received by Equifax, each data furnisher will be contacted directly by Equifax. This process is usually accomplished by sending the request for verification electronically and may take 30 days to complete.       Equifax continues to allow credit card company (Discover). To falsely and fraudulently report a balance. This balance has been resolved. (Zero balance.) (cancellation of debit.) via 1099C tax form. Year 2020.I sent Equifax a cease-and-desist in November 2021. Equifax did correct the issue. Just recently in late September 2023 they allow them to resubmit the false and fraudulent balance again. *** disputed this issue 7 times and sent a second cease-and-desist letter. At this time there has been no resolution to this matter.

      Nothing has changed.

      Equifax continues to allow creditor (Discover) to falsely and fraudulently report incorrect information on my credit report. Even after submitting 7 disputes, proof such as Federal Tax documents, and supporting letters to correct this issue.

      Equifax, has corrected this issue in Oct of 2021. 
      Now 2 years later this error has re appeared on my report. None of your organizational processes or persons has been helpful in resolving this simple issue!

      At this time your organization is knowingly aiding fraudulent behavior and committing Fraud!

      I am NOT working with a 3rd party agency or credit repair agency. I am disputing the inaccurate information on my own behalf against Equifax. Why do you think my dispute comes from a 3rd party company? I am disputing my information with Equifax as they are reporting unauthorized information on my credit report that I demand to be removed. I also provided a copy of the *** report reporting the identity theft. They are not responding to my written letter, and it's been over 30 days, so I am filing this BBB complaint in hopes for an appropriate resolution. Equifax has maintained my credit report improperly and I have Unauthorized inquiries. Equifax is in violation of 15 U.S. Code ****b - Permissible purposes of consumer report. What part of this states that I am using a credit reporting agency. I'm stating that Equifax is violating my rights and consumer laws.

      In reference to the concern regarding the investigation process: Upon receipt of the dispute, we first review and consider any relevant information submitted regarding the nature of the dispute. Often, Equifax will then transmit the dispute to the furnisher of the information (ie. the bank associated with a disputed credit card) for review and investigation. Equifax electronically sends a notification of the dispute, including a summary of the relevant information submitted, to the respective furnisher. The furnisher reviews the information provided, conducts an investigation with respect to the disputed information and reports the results back to us electronically. Equifax then makes deletions or changes to the credit file. The name, address and, if reasonably available, the telephone number of the furnisher(s)/source(s) of the information contacted while processing the dispute(s) is shown under the 'Results of the investigation' section on the cover letter that accompanies the copy of the revised credit file.

      I am rejecting this response because: I am Kenyarn Hyde who is responding to the email messages. I have been trying to resolve this issue with Equifax For some time. I sent numerous letters advising them to please do a complete and accurate investigation in this matter and i never believed that they have done so. I truly understand that youre here to resolve disputes between both parties but this is inaccurate reporting on my credit report and must be taken care of.

As such, we do not collect or maintain copies of contracts between consumers and their creditors. Not all companies choose to report account ********************** to Equifax. However, through our investigation process, we are able to contact the furnishers of the information and either confirm or correct the data reporting on the file. Once a request for verification of a disputed item(s) has been received by Equifax, each data furnisher will be contacted directly by Equifax. This process is usually accomplished by sending the request for verification electronically and may take 30 days to complete. Once the data furnisher's response is returned to Equifax, any updates related to the disputed item(s) will be recorded on the credit report. Once all Data furnishers have responded to our request for their review, the consumer is sent a copy of each of the Data Furnishers responses they provided to Equifax.       I am rejecting this response because Equifax has failed to acknowledge my rights under the ***** It clearly states that I have the right to a fair and complete, accurate dispute process, that will yield results and provide me with the information I seek. That is the credit bureaus' obligation to me as a consumer. Additionally, FCRA states that "A consumer reporting agency shall provide to a consumer in writing...

      I noticed two inquiries in September 2023 that I never authorized. I contacted the financial institution and they said that they have no information that i authorized the inquiries and that I should report it as a possible identity theft and dispute with Equifax. I subsequently filed an *** identity theft report and submitted together with my drivers license and social security card to **********************. However, I was informed that the *** Report was deemed not valid. This is totally inaccurate since it came from the ***.

      Oct.23, 2023, continuing the cat-and-mouse game with Equifax regarding an extended fraud alert and final credit report for my late husband, whose death certificate I have sent the company more than once, to more than one P.O. Box in *******. Received three responses from them today, saying they have no credit report - though their competitors have not had a problem. I called the phone number they provided and waited one hour before choosing a callback. The robot called back but then just played music for 45 minutes - one presumes this is so they can claim they TRIED to return my call. My husband has suffered several identity theft attempts including after he died, and I sent Equifax the police report and a recent credit card application attempt. There is IMHO no excuse for this company pretending they dont have either enough info as I sent them the death certs and my ID copy or a ********************** report - as he had received reports from them previously. Not sending supportive documentation because they already have it.
