After multiple calls, I have been unsuccessful in receiving help from some someone at Equifax to resolve an issue that is very important to me. I had a consumer proposal in 2018 that I worked hard to pay off EARLY despite being off work and fighting cancer for the entirety of 2019. The consumer proposal no longer appears on my credit report, nor do any of the accounts that were associated with it at the time, EXCEPT for one, which is there in error. I have been paying the monthly subscription to monitor this. When I open the details it clearly says included in proposal The man on the phone today just kept interrupting me and telling me that it would not be removed and that there was activity on it in 2021 which is completely untrue since the proposal was in 2018. Equifax clearly has error and will not listen. Everything is absolutely fine with Transunion. I really dont know what to do next. He only seemed interested in trying to sell me a discounted monthly subscription when I asked to cancel. The account is for a **************** Please help me get this removed. I already had to fight about this account previously for months because it was being reported as an R9 instead of an R7. I dont even care about the money I wasted on this subscription, I just want my credit report to be accurate.

Dear Better Business Bureau,I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an unauthorized account on my ********************** report, which is adversely affecting my financial standing and has the potential to impede my ability to secure important financial transactions, specifically the purchase of a house.Upon reviewing my FICO credit score in preparation for a home purchase, I discovered an account listed under *********** with the account number ************, showing a total outstanding balance of $3055. To my dismay, I have no knowledge of, nor have I ever initiated or authorized, any account with *********** under the aforementioned account number. The presence of this unauthorized account is deeply concerning to me, as it not only inaccurately reflects my financial history but also has the potential to negatively impact my creditworthiness, thus jeopardizing my ability to secure favorable terms for important financial endeavors such as securing a mortgage. In light of this discovery, I am formally requesting that the Better Business Bureau undertake the necessary steps and conduct a thorough investigation into this matter. Specifically, I urge you to intervene on my behalf and request *********** to promptly remove the erroneous account and associated balance from my credit bureau.I believe that this is a case of mistaken identity or possibly fraudulent activity, and I am committed to cooperating fully with any inquiries or investigations required to rectify this situation promptly. Additionally, I would appreciate your assistance in ensuring that my credit report is accurately updated to reflect this resolution.I trust in the Better Business Bureau's commitment to consumer protection and fair business practices, and I am confident that with your intervention, this issue can be resolved satisfactorily.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I eagerly await your prompt response and the resolution of this issue.

Hi there. I am BEYOND MAD. There is an authorized account that is persistently reporting on my credit report as open, when it is closed. The reason why this is so detrimental is because it is reporting a balance of $5,646.00 when in reality that balance is $0.00 as I have ZERO affiliation with the card.I previously sent very similar literature to your bureau 2 weeks ago on 3/30/2024, however, I have been calling into your bureau and you are not acknowledging my paperwork. I am writing this complaint so that you MUST mark this account as CLOSED, and make the balance reflect as $0.00.Please review the paperwork below, and I am expecting this to be fixed promptly. If it is not fixed, you will be sued for very clear FCRA violations.

I've been grappling with Equifax for well over a year concerning my trafficking dispute, and it feels like I'm stuck in a never-ending cycle. Despite providing Equifax with numerous documents confirming my survivorship status, they continue to reject them, even though these documents meet the criteria under the debt ******* act. Other credit agencies like Experian and TransUnion have accepted these documents without issue. Equifax, however, seems to have its own set of rules when it comes to verifying certain documents, which adds to the frustration. Each time I have to engage in this dispute process with Equifax, it dredges up painful memories that I'd rather not relive. It's traumatizing, embarrassing, and deeply hurtful to constantly revisit these experiences. Equifax treats this dispute like any other, despite the sensitive nature of the situation. Whenever I call, hoping to speak to someone who can help, I'm informed that the department handling these disputes is outsourced to a legal team. This outsourcing not only complicates the process but also raises questions about Equifax's commitment to assisting victims of trafficking. I've exhausted every option available to me and my caseworker to resolve this, but Equifax seems uninterested in cooperating. The emotional toll of constantly having to prove my victimhood is immense. Equifax's lack of transparency regarding their document review process adds to the frustration. Why do other credit agencies accept the same documents that Equifax rejects? It's a question that remains unanswered, as Equifax's customer ********************** offers nothing more than scripted responses that do little to address the issue at hand. In essence, navigating this ordeal with Equifax has been a distressing experience. The company's reluctance to accept valid documentation and their opaque dispute process only compound the challenges faced by victims of trafficking like myself.

      RE: *************************, Case # ********

      Dear *****************************:

Thank you for submitting Zamir Jacksons complaint on 04/11/2024 through the BBB Complaint Portal. In their complaint, they indicated that there were inaccurate or incorrect items reporting on their credit file.  Please be advised that an investigation with the furnishers of the information has been initiated.  When the furnishing company provides their findings, we will send those results directly to the consumer.
In reference to the concern regarding the investigation process: Upon receipt of the dispute, we first review and consider any relevant information submitted regarding the nature of the dispute. Often, Equifax will then transmit the dispute to the furnisher of the information (ie. the bank associated with a disputed credit card) for review and investigation. Equifax electronically sends a notification of the dispute, including a summary of the relevant information submitted, to the respective furnisher. The furnisher reviews the information provided, conducts an investigation with respect to the disputed information and reports the results back to us electronically. Equifax then makes deletions or changes to the credit file. The name, address and, if reasonably available, the telephone number of the furnisher(s)/source(s) of the information contacted while processing the dispute(s) is shown under the 'Results of the investigation' section on the cover letter that accompanies the copy of the revised credit file.
If they have any additional questions, they may call ************** or they may visit www.myequifax.com.  With myEquifax, they can create an account to manage their security freeze, add or remove fraud alerts, and initiate credit file disputes. Additionally, they can access free Equifax credit reports and other products.

I am writing to you for the tenth time in an attempt to resolve persistent inaccuracies on my equifax credit report. Despite multiple requests for reinvestigation, the responses received have not adequately addressed the discrepancies in question. upon reviewing my equifax credit report once again, I discovered that it still does not align with the information provided by Equifax or Transunion or Experian. This inconsistency is deeply concerning, especially considering Equifax's obligation to ensure the accuracy of the data it reports. I've attached a copy of credit report and a complaint letter, Please update these accounts with the correct data or delete from my credit profile asap. Hello,

I confirm that I have submitted this claim myself. I am currently dealing with aggressive identity theft and this unfortunately isn't exclusive to Equifax. Since the reporting of fraudulent information is across multiple credit reporting companies, I have to claim against them "Equifax, Experian and TransUnion". This is the reason why you have received a complaint from me with similar wording. I sent the letter to all 3 credit bureaus that is consistent with my FTC affidavit & notarized.

      Complaint: 21547867

I am rejecting this response because:

As per ******** Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 (a)(1)(A), it is mandated by federal law that any accounts posted on a credit report must be verified through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. This is a matter of IDENTITY THEFT, I am no longer accepting auto responses from your company. I'm aware of my ability to obtain a credit report and access Equifax products and services...

I am demanding Verifiable Proof, specifically an original Consumer Contract bearing my signature, for the accounts I have filed here in my complaint. Checking in with the furnisher of fraudulent information, to verify the same fraudulently reported information, is precisely why this inaccurate data is reporting. Your inability to positively verify these accounts has adversely impacted my credit-seeking endeavours. According to the ***** unverified accounts must be expunged. Therefore, if you are unable to furnish me with a copy of verifiable proof, the listed accounts must be promptly removed.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am a litigious consumer, this is my third attempt at sending this message to Equifax regarding this claim. Equifax has responded with the exact same auto response message to my previous rejection. The law is very clear on the matter when pertaining to identity theft. Also, as per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 (a)(1)(A), it is mandated by federal law that any accounts posted on a credit report must be verified through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract. Otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. This is a matter of IDENTITY THEFT, as I said before, I am no longer accepting auto responses from your company. I'm aware of my ability to obtain a credit report and access Equifax products and services... Furthermore, you're required by LAW to block fraudulently reporting information. I will also attach the *** Notice to Furnishers document for reference.
