1 starBronze Star acted as a broker on our move. They made statements about other companies that give a price, then raise it when they come to pick up. They said they had a warehouse close to our home. The company that came not only charged much more than the price quoted for less furniture and boxes to pick up, but also came from **********... hours away from our home. I contacted their customer service, was told they would meet with their team and call me back within hours. They did not. Hello Mr. and *******************,
I'm sorry to hear you had a less than excellent experience, but I really appreciate you bringing this issue to my attention.I was just able to review your estimate from your bill of lading. You called us at 9:45 am on 01/16th and spoke with ******** in my customer service department. He did inform you that you would receive a call back as soon as we had the bill of lading to review charges. You were not told hours however your were told as soon as possible. 9:30 AM this morning you left this review and as you can see below date and timed stamped on your actual bill of lading was today at 3:30. You posted this review 01/17th this morning and we did actually get access to you BOL paperwork at loading downloaded in our PDF at 01/17/2023 03:38:43 PM BY AGENT ****. Actual copy and paste time on PDF. ****** did reach out to you directly because we did see your BBB review. You didn't reach out to us at loading, and we call our clients 3 days after delivery to ensure you have a chance to settle in and let us know of any issues. We did answer you call after the delivery however we just received the paperwork an hour after ****** reach out to you directly. At 6:30 the driver who did your exact move called to offer you a refund for the packing even though you did order it he doesn't want to have a negative review posted either.
In the file notes it states: clients charges did increase, verified additional packing for bulky items such as the China cabinet, sofa special pack, and you also had your side board special packed. You did take 2 TV's off however added to fill that space and requested additional packing to be done at loading. You did mention they took amazing care of all furniture, wrapping, the crew arrived on time and was *******. You. were ******* & delivered same day as asked. You were delivered, and reassembled, and everything arrive complet and safe. You told customer service you loved the driver ***** at delivery. I think the overages came from increase in requested packing by you for the movers . You did have pad wrapping for the glass front doors of the ***** cab included for $50.00 but you requested the china cabinet fully be special packed and wrapped. You did remove 2 TV's and boxes for packing in the total of $75.00. I have to still review remaining paperwork and the additional packing and items added of furniture boxes at pickup to get a final count of pieces going.
Your price cannot change unless additional packing is requested by you, if you add/remove the inventory going you would only be charged $3.00 per cf and 12% of the total would be added. I do clearly see you increased and ordered special packing of the furniture. Unfortunately, it is always only binding for the services you requested in the initial that is why you price per cf rate is locked at the governing tariff of $3.00 per cubic ft. I did reach out to your driver and we are still reviewing the charges. I believe as of right now. We would be willing to waive the $300.00 in the packing your requested at pick up. We are fair. We follow all guidelines from the *******************************. So what ****** told you verbatim was the price cannot change as long as the list of furniture and the services you requested are in the quote. We cannot waive fees of increased if you requested additional packing and added a few items however we can always ensure the charges are true and correct on the paperwork signed.

Binding Estimate:
A binding estimate is when the mover guarantees a fixed cost estimate based on the approximate weight of the customers belongings. If the customer agrees to a binding estimate, then they will pay exactly what they were originally quoted. The mover will not be allowed to ratchet up the price whatsoever. However, agreeing to a binding estimate also means that the customer wont pay any less either. If their belongings end up weighing less than was originally estimated, they will still have to pay the fixed cost.
While not the most ideal choice, a binding estimate does have its advantages. For one, if youre concerned about a mover over-charging you at the last minute, you wont have to worry (unless, of course, they over-charge you at the beginning). To make sure youre getting a fair binding estimate, I recommend obtaining quotes from multiple movers to compare. Another advantage of choosing a binding estimate is that if your belongings do happen to exceed the estimated weight, you wont have to worry about paying the high price. This peace of mind certainly appeals to many who are moving.We are looking into the issue and hope to resolve it promptly with you. I hope you will be satisfied with our resolution and will respond positively about the over all experience and customer service provided. We understand ********************** is so stressful. It is hard to pack up everything get it ready for weeks on end. More then not moving the household isn't even all their is to do. Drive time, closings on house, setting up new services. All of those things are stressful enough besides a price increase. I am sorry again you had to deal with this. I have the paperwork signed and dated by you at loading and in the future if you are ever unsure of anything please call your customer service department or original sales representative. We are able to communicate directly with you and give you the option to just use the packing exactly how you ordered it or request a discount for the increased price due to order packing at loading. I am happy that besides the increase you had an amazing move and they guys showed up and did a great job even getting you delivered same day.
We all care about every client and I think that would be something everyone could say about our company. We wanted to take some time to thank you for this review. Unfortunately in this industry so many companies out their call the clients and no one can figure out what is real and what isn't. We were sorry to hear the ***************************** refused your refund but we wanted to make sure that you received one from us. Please let us know how the move went and if you have any issues with that other moving brokerage. The BBB has some really good information as well on how to protect yourself from scam movers, or companies that are not licensed or registered with the *******************************.
