I purchased the free trial for $0.99 on 2/13/24 thinking there would at least be a 30 day period where I was able to cancel my subscription before receiving additional charges. Instead, I was charged today on 2/18/2024 for the amount of $29.99 with no notice for why this charge was made. Additionally, the site states that it is possible to change/cancel subscriptions from their Account page which is a blatant lie as there is no way to do so, you must email there support and request a cancellation. It's a shame because it is a decent site in terms of functionality and search options, but these billing practices put this site in line with straight up fraudulent businesses that do the same thing.Business Response

Information.com does not have a functioning process to Do Not Share My Data as required by law. The process is either intentionally not working or broken by a software flaw. As a result, I am unable to maintain my personal privacy. When a ****** search is performed with my name, city and state, detailed results are presented. On January 31, **** I used Information.com and was told for $0.99 I could get a free trial. This was not true, as I was actually charged $1.00, and then was charged $6.99 and $29.99 on the same day. In total, I have paid $37.98. I also am not able to remove my card from my account on their website and I also am unable to cancel my "subscription" without calling or emailing them. I did email them, but was sent an automatic reply that I need to wait at least 48 hours to hear a response. I did some research online and I am not the only person this has happened to. The other people this has happened to had to get new cards/dispute charges/etc. and it didn't seem as if anyone was actually given a refund for the unauthorized charges. ************************************************************************************************ I should've looked online beforehand, but that is my mistake for trusting a website with my card information. The website said I would NOT be charged $29.99 if I canceled my trial within 5 days, however, I was charged for this the same day I started the trial. And I have no idea where the $6.99 charge came from. To provide proof of this, I have attached a screenshot of this and the charges to my account. 2/6/2024 they falsely requested ***** making my insurance bill due be declined and unlawfully as I agreed on a 1 dollar background report and supplied the photos of allegations. This causes major hardship and defamation of my credit history and falsely accuses my credit of being worse than it is truly. It said clearly 1 dollar. Just one. Not 2 transactions.
