For a billion dollar company they have the Worst website and customer service I have ever experienced. We purchased in 2022 and it has been the biggest nightmare ever. Can't book anything online, can't make our payments, have spent hours online with nothing resolved. Stay away from pitching into this organization. I've since read other reviews that are impossible to sell it back! Buyer beware!!!

We are very sorry to hear that Mrs. ****** is having trouble with the owner's website. Please know that the owner's website cannot be utilized with a customer number that is associated with a Trust. Mr. William ********** is the co-owner on this account, and he has setup a username to log into the owner's website. We have successfully emulated Mr. **********'s online account and found no issue with searching availability and making reservations. In order to associate the open loan with the online portal please contact our Owner Services office at 800-845-4226. Owner Services is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 8pm eastern.

Marriott has a Resale Operation "division" - to the Marriott timeshare owner, this appears to be (and I use that phrase loosely) an office that will make an offer to buy back Trust points from owners who want to sell them and be absolved of awful time share investment. This Resale division is just false advertising, and it's especially heinous as it gives customers false hope...people who paid tens of thousands of dollars for vacation time that just was sold to them through a series of lies. Never buy Marriott Vacation Club...it's not worth it...for 1,000 points, the $900 a year in dues plus $13000 investment was never worth it, and Marriott won't even help you get out of it after taking all of your money for years. Plus there are so many g******** rules about when you can use your points...it's one big scam and only Marriott is benefitting from it. I've never met anyone happy with a MVC purchase...it's a total ripoff. I'm still paying my loan that originated in 2018, I've spent over $10,000 for 11 nights, and I will pay $1000+ in fees forever and still owe 80% of the loan principle.

We are sorry to receive this negative review from Mr. *****. Marriott Vacations Worldwide has more than 650,000 owners and our owner services division consistently has held owner satisfaction scores in the 90's for years. The vast majority of owners do enjoy the program and get excellent usage while redeeming their club points for relaxing vacation stays at one of our world-class resorts or through the Explorer Collection.

Our resale operations office exists as a service to guide owners on the best way to relinquish ownership of their interests in the event that something in their personal life has changed and they can no longer travel. Resales does make repurchase offers from time to time; however, the program is turned on/off in accordance with the businesses needs for inventory. Direct repurchase programs are not guaranteed. Our resales team also helps explain to owners the best way to list their ownership interests for sale on the external market for a price that they determine to be fair and reasonable.

There is nothing "world-class" about Marriott Vacation Club. People who travel a lot know what world-class is...and MVC doesn't meet the bar. Average-to-above average yes..."world-class" no. For people reading this...trust the actual customers instead of the phony Marriott sales and marketing team on this. With 650,000 owners, availability for the above-average resorts is extremely limited at best. There are some resorts with multiple-year wait times, which makes it pretty hard to travel and use points wherever we want. With the ridiculous amount of rules and holding periods and restrictions, plus rules that bar customers from using points that they bought, there is nothing world-class about MVC. If Marriott was actually honest about satisfaction scores, they would publish the data on either the owners' portal or the public website...but they don't. It's more "Just trust us bro this is what 'people' are saying" rhetoric coming from corporate robots. I don't remember the last time I was asked by MVC if I was satisfied. Your Resale Operations office only tells people "No, we don't buy points but call us back to see if we will at some point down the road." What a rude, lame, and just offensive model and message sent to MVC customers. It's not the customer's responsibility to wildly guess when Marriott buys back points. Customers could call 100,000 times and be told no every time...so why even advertise that as a service? Why pretend that you're trying to help people?? The honest answer is you're not...and even MVC knows this. Why not engage in buying back points as profitable third-party companies do? Why not take advantage of the inherent arbitrage evident in buying back points at a discount and selling them back at full price? I know Marriott loves cash...but they don't want to make money this way? Seriously???

Our owners can make reservations at any resort up to 13 months in advance. It is true that there may be some competition amongst owners at our most popular resorts, Maui and Aruba for example, especially during popular holiday travel dates. However, this is not the norm as the vast majority of our owners receive their first choice of reservations on their initial call to Owner Services.

Our organization does make repurchase offers at some of the legacy resorts when it makes good business sense to do so. Mr. ***** owns destination points, which we are not making offers on at this time. Mr. ***** is welcome to sell his ownership interests for sale on the external market if he so chooses.

As a Marriott owner and a recent widow I believed I had given my Marriott timeshare back to to the company. My husband had paid the maintenance fees for 2022. He passed away on December 7th 2021. I contacted Marriott timeshare in February of 2022 and was turned over to the deed back program. As a grieving widow I felt that I had followed up with sending a death certificate to Marriott. I am 80 years old and do not drive. I explained that I would not be using this timeshare at any time. Now I have a bill for $1,827.43 to deed back my 2 bedroom timeshare in Palm Desert. Even though I called early in this year this time share is still in my name. Recently I have received a 21 page document that I don't understand. It has to be notarized and copies sent to remove my name from this timeshare. I believe this is elder abuse by Marriott. I do not plan to send this large amount of money to Marriott for something I have not used or plan to use. My husband and I were never late on any dues and did not owe any money when I called.. I feel I am being abused by Marriott to pay for this timeshare in Palm Desert for taxes and fees for 2023. I believed that Marriott was professional and trusted the people I talked to. I have called the escrow company and the deed back manager called me back to let me know that I had to pay this fee. Even though they have a record that I had called in February of 2022 but I never received any documentation so I believed it was removed from my husband's name.

We are very sorry to learn about the passing of Mr. ***** and wish Mrs. ***** the best during this difficult time. Our organization does offer a deed back program for owners who wish to relinquish ownership usage for any reason. However, the deed back program is only offered in certain situations and does not apply to owners with an open mortgage, or an outstanding maintenance fees balance.

The documents that Mrs. ***** received are deed back documents. The deed back program is run through our resale operations department. The telephone number to our resale operations office is 866-682-4547.

Currently, Mrs. *****'s transaction is structured so that she will retain usage of her Desert Springs Villas II ownership interest in 2023, and therefore is responsible for the 2023 maintenance fees. The deed back transaction stipulates that usage will be relinquished back to the organization with first year occupancy to the organization in 2024. If Mrs. ***** has questions about the documents that she received, she is encouraged to call our resale office at the telephone number provided.

Horrible company. Stay away from them. We have been trying to communicate with them since the beginning of this year. The last correspondence we sent was on 31 Oct 22. We sent a message saying that we wanted out and why. Then, 72 hours later, we got a form letter denying us anything and everything. They did ZERO investigation into the matter and it was evident. They are a bad company.

According to our records, Ms. ***** has been an owner at The Westin St. John since 2014. Her ownership interests are considered real-estate purchases and they cannot simply be cancelled. In order to relinquish ownership of her Westin St. John interests, Ms. ***** will have to list them for sale on the external market for a price that she deems fair and reasonable. We are sorry to learn that Ms. ***** no longer wishes to own her St. John weeks; however, we do not have any sort of resale program available for this particular resort at this time.

Marriott apparently has no problem scamming and ripping off a LOYAL owner of over 2 decades. I CANNOT TRUST THEM ANY LONGER. I was talked into going to an update meeting where I intended to get help booking reservations through the website, which is always a nightmare. I was told the purchase I made the year before was an "A and B" purchase and I needed the B part. Apparently, that is what caused my issues as my A contract is worthless on its own. (Admitting I was sold something worthless to begin with should have been a red flag) I told the salesperson repeatedly that I could not afford another purchase, but he would not let up! I already caved once since making a real estate investment would be good for me in the long run. I later learned there is no real estate included with that purchase! I also was not told about the interest, so I had no idea I was paying so much more than I originally agreed to... So why would I want to buy another contract?!

We are sorry to receive this negative review from Ms. *******. Sales executives do not have the systems access or training necessary to assist owners with making reservations. All reservation requests should go through the appropriate owner services office. All ownership interests are considered a form of deeded real-estate and have a value in terms of how they provide our owners with vacation time at our world-class resorts.

All of the terms of each purchase are provided in writing within the sales agreement, including the interest rate for any mortgage financing that was agreed upon by the purchaser.

Marriott Vacation club, Please fix the website issue.. It has been almost a year that I could not use website to book or even pay the club dues. I am so glad that I only have a basic level of membership. However, I still have to pay ~$1,940 annual fee. It takes time and efforts to manage the membership and difficult to book the desirable destination. It is not an enjoyable experience..

Our experience with Marriott Vacation Club started when my husband received a call offering us a free trip to Orlando. We were excited to visit somewhere that we had not traveled to before, so we said yes. When we attended the sales presentation, which we were told would only last about 1½ hours, we were kept in that room for the entire day! Our 4 children were in the hotel room waiting for us, so we finally agreed to the smallest package that we were offered so that we could leave and start the vacation that we had promised to our family. Over the course of that meeting, their employees told us that we could book anywhere at any time, the unit could be rented out as an investment property, and that if we ever decided that this purchase was not for us, the company would purchase it back. These factors gave us the reassurance that this purchase was in the best interests of our family. However, we now know that booking vacations with them is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! There is no opportunity to rent out the unit since we cannot even use the timeshare when we want to travel AND, since they have now told us that this has zero resale value, there is no opportunity to sell it back. We thought that we were making the best decision for our children and instead have spent close to $20,000 on something that is worthless with no end in sight. Do not take any of their offers! Nothing is ever free!!

We are very sorry to receive this negative review from Mrs. *******. In review of her ownership profile, we see that Mrs. ******* acquired 1,000 points in the Marriott Vacation Club Destinations Program in 2017. In her time as an owner, Mrs. ******* has successfully redeemed her points for 5 nights at Marriott's OceanWatch at Grande Dunes. 2,000 points remain in her 2022 use year and Mrs. ******* can use these points to arrange an External Exchange Credit through Interval International that will be valid for a 7 night stay at one of Interval International's resorts over the next two years, subject to availability.

Our sales executives present the program in an informative, low key and professional manner. Mrs. ******* received a Quality Assurance Checklist and acknowledged that she purchased the ownership interests for her personal vacation enjoyment, not for investment, resale or rental potential. This same document also disclosed the fact that our organization does not guarantee any type of buyback program. If Mrs. *******'s personal financial circumstances have changed, then she is welcome to list her ownership interests for sale on the external market, the process is similar to any other form of deeded real-estate.

We travel for work and stay at Marriott properties, so it made sense to purchase their timeshare offering and become members while we were vacationing in Florida! This decision became one of the worst we have ever made. We had no idea that the Marriott sales personnel are permitted to pitch a timeshare as a real estate investment. An investment that increases in value. We were assured that we would have no problem with booking as there are many resorts. Booking a reservation for us was almost impossible. There is no investment, only a mountain of debt...don't believe me? Go to eBay and check out what timeshares are selling for, it's a joke! Yes, we believed what they told us because we believed in Marriott. Once was what an enjoyable experience with Marriott has now become very unpleasant and has forever tarnished the name of Marriott.

We've been trying to get someone from Marriott timeshare to contact us for MANY months and so far...nothing. The last time was a few months ago. WHAT THE HECK! A big company like Marriott finds us too insignificant to address our concerns. We're not worthy? Take heed: This company will take your time and your money and they won't care about you after they receive them. We're glad we stopped paying when we did.

I am a senior citizen and have been taken advantage of by the sales representative at Marriott Timeshare in Manhattan, New York. I have owned a timeshare at Harbor Point in South Carolina for the past 15 years and I have never been able to use it... which is the same case with Marriott! Regina convinced me that merging my week with the Marriott point system would encourage me to travel more often. After I realized this was not going to work for me, I asked Marriott twice to buy back my ownership or cancel the contract and I would take the loss. One of the selling points, when I bought, was that Marriott has a buyback program, which put me at ease. For someone my age, it is difficult to travel and to continue paying high maintenance fees for something I was duped into buying.

We are disappointed to receive this 1-star review from Mr. ***** as he has been a Marriott Vacation Club owner since 2001. Mr. ***** has received reservations at his home resort, Marriott's Harbour Point for three years arriving on 10.31.21; 10.29.22 and 11.4.2023 respectively. Mr. ***** has certainly had the opportunity to utilize his ownership interest at Harbour Point.

On October 12, 2017 Mr. ***** entered into a separate purchase agreement acquiring 1,500 club points in the MVC Destinations Program. Destination Points can be used to plan additional vacations at more than 65 Marriott Vacation Club resorts, plus several alternative options through the Explorer Collection. Currently, Mr. ***** is delinquent on maintenance fees for his Destination Points and the account is temporarily suspended until it is brought current.

Our organization does not have a repurchase program in place for destination points; however, Mr. ***** is welcome to sell them on the open market for a price that he deems fair and reasonable.

After looking into this matter, we have found no evidence that supports Mr. *****'s allegations of being misled during the sales process more than 5 years ago. Our organization will not agree to repurchase his ownership interests on that basis.
