I would give zero stars if I could. Dotster was bad enough, giving me a whole bunch of bogus transfer auth codes. Now these guys aren't responding at all to my transfer authorization request. Are they just a bunch of scammers?Review from Ben S

Wow the tangled mess: Bluehost has BBB headquarters as ******************** However, when you got to your Bluehost account and look at your ************** Agreement you find they have changed the name of the company you are contracting with to Web.com. All are getting trashed by cusomer complaints. How many heads does this Hydra have and how can we avoid it!web.com Bluehost.com iPage BlueHost StartLogic JustHost Super Green Hosting They give us the option to turn "auto renew" on or off. However, they are not honoring the customer's request and causing a mess by taking the money and then running you around trying to run out the 30 time limit for disputing with your credit card company.Review from Julia F

My experiences with WEB.com has been a total NIGHTMARE! i paid for a three-year hosting package subscription to the tune of $331.76. After a few days, I found their web-building program impossible to use, and when I called support all I heard was multiple apologies that they could not help me, that the program wasn't designed to work that way, that there was nothing they could do. the builder was totally unresponsive and impossible to use. When I asked to cancel my services, they told me it was past the three-day limit and I was out of luck. I have called and received 4 refusals to even hear me out. Nothing is said about the fact that I paid for 3 years and they are keeping all the money.I have been building websites for 25 years, and I've never seen worse service or building tools. Unfortunately, I didn't check the reviews before I spent my money.I left one star because there was no other choice, AND I must say the support folks do their best. I feel sorry for them. I know what it's like to work for an unscrupulous company.Review from Lisa H

I have been with this company for 10 years. We have a nonprofit foundation, raising funds to help with families and research for pediatric brain cancer. I have been working for over 2 months to get my web forwarding service back up and running. They said it was a new platform and it didn't propagate correctly. I have spoken with 11 times (over 5 hours on the phone) in the past 2 months and of course the *** in the *********** assure me the issue will be fixed in 24 hrs and it never is. This has ruined our golf outing flyers with a ** Code the past 2 months. Currently, our marketing materials to be used next week the ** Code will not get directed to the site it should be. Who do I get people to my site to collect donations. Clearly after reading some of these other post, WEB.com has a very serious issue they are not addressing. This problem ruining my fundraiser!Review from Twink C

They don't care anymore. I've been with them for 20 years and they're blowing me off and they're making me pay them and they won't help me with my website. COVID ruined my life and I'm trying to get it back. They act like they care, but they don't. For 4 years, I paid them without being able to work because the circumstances of what I've had to go through due to Covid. I would like to get back to work so I can afford to pay for my bills and make a living so I don't have to live on the street, but they won't call me back. They wont-work with me. I don't know what to do except to maybe moved on to a different hosting company and tell them see you wouldn't want to be you. What a ripoff!Review from Jacob G

I'm fed up with relentless spam from a company I never subscribed to. Unsubscribing doesn't work, and it's infuriating.Review from Lisa C

I've used MyDomain.com for over 20 years and always been very happy with the service. Web.com recently bought them out and cancelled a lot of services I use. This broke my email and locked me out of my account. They forced me to "recover" my account which then locked my domains for transfer. The email they sent said that they could unlock the accounts if I contacted support but the support person stated they would not. The service stinks now and I will move away the second I am able to. I highly recommend everyone stay away from this company.Review from Martin R

I purchased a domain, a page, an email, a security certificate, and who knows what else from these guys and couldn't get the security license to work. I was told to wait a few days, like 10 or something for it to work. Well, it didn't. The only way to get ahold of anyone on the phone is to do a "website check", which I did, and got some calls from people who told me I have the wrong site (ecommerce), I need to buy another SSL, I need to auto renew everything, etc. Just non-sense. Oh, and buy then the two week refund period had run out and I was not eligible for a refund. So... several hundred dollars later I have a website that was supposed to be downgraded to a lower version (I was charged for this with the promise of a credit for the downgrade that never happened), I have 3 SSL licenses that were around 25 dollars apiece, and I still can't get any help with installing the license and logo. This service is terrible. I've used others in the past, including GoDaddy, and it wasn't this hard to get something fixed without being charged for an entire new item that doesn't function any differently than the one you are trying to fix. I'm done with these guys.Review from Philip H

Previously, I was a Dotster.com customer with about 40 active email accounts. I never experienced any issues with my services or customer service responses. In April 2024, my domains and accounts disappeared. After many calls and hours spent with call center agents, eventually I was told that there was a problem with my account in transferring from Dotster.com to Web.com. I had received no notice of this event occurring. Eventually, after a loss of considerable business and a lot of wasted time, it was rectified. One of my main email accounts was "hacked" recently by a scammer/blackmailer. Luckily, I understood what was happening and besides the irritation caused by the scammer/blackmailer, no real harm was done. Several clients reached out to me in the last 48 hours to tell me that my two primary email accounts did not exist anymore (one that had been previously hacked by a scammer/blackmailer). After sometime spent with call center agents, my case was put into an "escalation" mode. Today, I realized that none of my email accounts are active. But I do have to applaud the call center agents who tried to sell me additional services while responding to my unsuccessful queries. This has to be one of the worse customer response efforts that I have ever seen. One of my next books will be on scams and competencies perpetuated on society in today's technological age. This will surely be an excellent example for my book - I hope I will be able to make Web.com more famous that it already is with its 1.15/5 Customer Review Rating.
