I signed a contract for **************** windows (3) and 1 sliding door on March 9, 2024. I paid a ******************************* the contract signed. They cashed the check on March 13, 2024. The original install time frame advised to me was end of June/beginning of July. There was silence after mid-March until May when I inquired about the status of the Manufacturer having my windows ready for installation, I was advised by the representative that they were having delay issues with that original manufacturer and if I wanted to amend the contract and go with another manufacturer it would be done faster and the window product would be better with no additional cost to me. I signed the amendment and was advised the next time frame should be July or August. In June the original manufacturer sent via mail a notice that if I they did not get payment from me for the windows they would put a lien on my property. It took three weeks of back and forth with the representative at Alco Windows and Doors to resolve this issue with them admitting in writing there error and obtaining a notarized letter from that manufacturer, for my records, releasing me of any payment to them. We are now heading into September and I have no commencement or completion dates provided. I have nothing in writing about any status of the current manufacturer even processing the building of my windows and sliding door. I inquired via email on August 4th as to the status and received no response. After three weeks I sent another email regarding the lack of response and my desire to know when the install would occur and be completed. That email was sent on August 24th I asked for a response within 5 business days or I want my money back. I did not receive a response as yet and the 5 business days ended yesterday, August 30th. In the end I really just want my windows and sliding door to be installed properly already. Please help.

We bought windows from **** on 8/27/2023. The price was $22,887.00. We took out a loan from a company called *****. We were directed to Momnt by Alco. We have been regularly paying this loan. The current balance is $17,069. Windows were supposed to be installed by the end of 2023. This did not happen and we were informed of several delays, but still no windows. The last time we heard from **** was in April of 2024 and they said it would be middle of May or June 2024 for installation, but this never happened. Now **** never answers their phone, never responds to voice messages, and never respond to emails. I am begining to believe that this whole thing was scam. I would like a refund plus interest we paid on the loan

I signed a contract with Alco *********************************************** on January ****** to replace all of the windows and doors in my home. I was told by the **** representative that the work would be completed by June 2024. **** offered a no interest, no payment financing agreement for 18 months through *********************** .To date nothing has been done on the construction project even though **** has been paid the entire $33,000 by the finance company for completion of the work. I have called Alco numerous times to get an update on the status and was first told that it would be delayed until the end of July or the beginning of August. When that didnt happen I contacted an attorney and he sent a letter to **** requesting that the contract be voided and the funds be returned to the finance company. Now because I have involved a lawyer, Alco will no longer communicate with me and told me that all future communications will have to be done through the attorneys. So basically Alco has been paid $33,000 and has done nothing in return.

This traction date is Nov. 15, 2023. Alco windows signed a contract to supply windows for the whole house. A deposit of $17,500 was paid. They kept delaying and delaying. After numerous attempts they finally told me that they needed to change the supplier for the windows in late April ***************************************************** June. I was told I would get an exact date and I have not been notified. The last response I received was in May and they have not responsded since then. I will attach last email. I have called and emailed ( I have all my emails) and have received no response. Its like they have disappeared on me.

On January 18, 2024, we signed an agreement with Alco for the purchase and installation of windows/doors for our home and the processing of a permit with the county. The salesman said we would have the products installed in May prior to hurricane season. The Agreement says **** will order the windows and doors within 5 days of signing the agreement and payment of the deposit with a Lead Time of receipt of materials of ******* days and estimated install date 14 days thereafter. We paid the 50 percent deposit of $12,099.00, without any financing. To date, we do not have the windows/doors installed in our home and Alco has not provided me with the date it ordered the products, as requested. Alco has not applied for the necessary permit with the County. **** keeps providing me with "estimated" dates of completion and their representative says the delay is on their end. We want **** to do the work in return for the large deposit it got from us.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/09/2024

Our goal is to complete the install prior to October 14,

I Purchased impact windows from Alco Windows and Doors on November 30, 2023. As of today, July 22, 2024. I have not had windows installed and have been given a complete run around for months. No one will return my calls or emails. I financed through a 3rd party and **** was paid in full in November. I made several attempts to get a viable answer from them, but there is none. I found out that Mr. ***** is the manufacturer of the windows. I contacted them in April and was told there is no order for my windows. I contacted an attorney, and they say it will cost me more than the $9200 to go after them for a refund or to complete the order. I am at a loss, literally and figuratively

Unprofessional business. Owner *********************** along with his mgt team including ****** mgr, ********************* and *************************** have repeatedly avoided answering questions related to a signed contract in December 2023 on scheduling installation of impact windows, ***** finally answered should be early august. Asked for an install date she responds they are working on scheduling? After 8 months a reasonable person can assume this should be done. Moreover, the company has received full payment upon singing of the contract from the loan company in December. We are in process of filing a lawsuit against the owner and company for not fulfilling their contract agreement and using funds elsewhere.

I hired **** on January 2nd, 2024 to install impact doors for my house. They said it would take 2 months. I gave a 50% deposit of *********. Three months later nothing had been done and I was told the contract gave them 6 months. The contractual 6 month deadline has now passed and they won't respond to emails or calls. I found out (on my own) they took out a permit for installation on 5/23, but when I checked their manufacturer, Mr. ****** no work order had been placed for the assembly of my doors. I checked last week with Mr. ****** now over a month since permit was obtained, and still no order. They are now in breach of contract and avoiding me. I've found other complaints online where they either don't do the job or do it wrong. I want them to either do the job CORRECTLY or refund my deposit. Thank you for your time.

I signed a contract with ALCO Windows on April 6, 2023, for a construction project at my property in ************, **. From the outset, this experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Despite paying ALCO Windows $33,012.15, they have failed to perform any work, including applying for the necessary permits or ordering materials as stipulated in our agreement.Upon learning that the work I contracted ALCO Windows to do was not permitted by my city, I immediately informed them. However, they attempted to proceed with unpermitted work, resulting in my condo association rescinding their permission for ALCO to operate on the property. This situation should have warranted an immediate halt and full refund, given that no actual work had commenced. In addition to their complete failure to adhere to legal and contractual obligations, the owner of ALCO Windows has treated me with unprofessionalism and disrespect. Now, ALCO Windows refuses to communicate with me directly, only responding through their attorney, who in turn, ignores my attempts to reach out.Despite their blatant disregard for the contract terms and the law, ALCO Windows refuses to refund any portion of my payment. Their actions have caused significant stress and financial strain, as I am now left with no completed work and a substantial loss of funds.ALCO Windows is in breach of contract. They cannot do the work. They should refund my money.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/26/2024

We have attempted to communicate with this customer multiple times.
Despite several efforts to explain the necessary steps to obtain the required permits, we have not received her cooperation. Instead, she has verbally mistreated and cursed at our employees, which is unacceptable.
She mentioned that she would be contacting her lawyer, and we are currently waiting for communication from her counsel regarding the next steps.
We are eager to complete this project and resolve this matter amicably, provided she allows us to proceed.

    Complaint: 21907115

I am rejecting this response because:

I appreciate ALCO Windows taking the time to respond to my review. However, I must address several inaccuracies and provide clarifications based on documented facts.

    1. Communication Attempts: I have made numerous documented attempts to communicate with ALCO Windows, including emails and phone calls, as evidenced by my records. Despite my repeated efforts, ALCO Windows has not provided clear communication or cooperation regarding the necessary steps to obtain the required permits.

    2. Behavioral Claims: At no point did I verbally mistreat or curse at any of ALCO Windows' employees. I have consistently approached this matter with professionalism and have documented all interactions to ensure clarity and transparency.

    3. Legal Counsel: While I did mention contacting my lawyer due to ALCO Windows' refusal to refund my payment despite not performing any work, it is important to note that my attempts to resolve this issue amicably have been met with resistance. ALCO Windows insists on only speaking through their attorney, who has not responded to my outreach.

    4. Project Permits: The core issue remains that ALCO Windows has not initiated any work on the project. They have not applied for the necessary permits, and they cannot obtain these permits because the work outlined in the contract is not permitted by my city. Specifically, the contract includes the removal of a sliding door, which requires a proper master permit that includes both mechanical and electrical permits. My city has confirmed that they will reject any permit application based on the current contract with ALCO Windows. This fundamental fact renders the project nonviable from the outset.

    5. ***************** Restrictions: ALCO Windows attempted to perform work without obtaining the required permits, leading to my condo association rescinding their permission for ALCO Windows to operate on the property. This restriction remains in place, preventing any work from proceeding.

    6. Florida Law Compliance: According to Florida law, it is illegal for a contractor to collect more than 10% of the contract price as an initial payment and not apply for the necessary permits within 30 days. ALCO Windows collected 100% of the funds upfront on April 6, 2023, and has failed to apply for the required permits within the legal timeframe. This constitutes a clear violation of Florida Statute Section 489.126.

    7. Scope of Work and Budget: When ALCO Windows sold me this project, they failed to inform me that it would require additional work, including mechanical and electrical modifications, far beyond my initial budget. After consulting with an air conditioning contractor, I learned that it would be expensive and difficult to extend the mechanical systems to the proposed enclosed area. This crucial information was not disclosed at the time of sale, indicating a significant misrepresentation of the project's scope, feasibility and cost.

    8. Demand Letter: I sent a formal demand letter to ALCO Windows on January 11, 2024, detailing these issues and requesting immediate action. To date, I have received no response to this letter.

Given these facts, it is clear that ALCO Windows has not only failed to perform their contractual obligations but has also engaged in practices that misled me as a consumer. My primary goal is to receive a full refund due to ALCO Windows' non-performance, legal violations, and misrepresentation of the project scope. I remain open to constructive dialogue and resolution but cannot accept any misrepresentation of the facts or my actions in this matter.

    Sincerely,

    ***********************
