On August 15, 2026 I purchased a $99 digital product (AI-powered Digital Asset) from REMOVED(website REMOVED; email REMOVED). The charge was processed by Commas / FanBasis Inc. and posted to my account on August 17, 2026. At the time of sale, the company's representative REMOVEDguaranteed in writing: "If it does not work for you, we give you double your money back ($198)." The product did not work for my needs. I requested the guaranteed refund in writing on September 13, 2026, and sent a second notice on September 28, 2026 with a 7-day response deadline. The company has not responded to either request and has issued no refund. I am filing this complaint against Commas (the payment processor on record) naming AI REMOVEDas the merchant. A card-issuer dispute for the $99 charge was also filed today with REMOVED; that does not change the resolution sought here.Customer Answer

Attaching my supporting evidence for complaint #REMOVEDagainst Commas (AI Business Lab): the $99 charge details, their written double-money-back guarantee, and my two unanswered refund requests. The upload failed during my original filing, so I'm submitting it here. Thank you.Business Response

The refund the business claims to have issued has not been received or verified.
On August 15, 2026, I purchased the AI-powered Digital Asset for $99. At the time of sale, the company's representative, REMOVED, provided a written guarantee stating: 'If it does not work for you, we give you double your money back ($198).'
I requested a refund in writing on September 13, 2026, and sent a second notice on September 28, 2026, providing a seven-day deadline. I received no response to either request.
FanBasis, REMOVEDhas now stated through the BBB that the transaction was fully refunded. However, after checking my TriCity REMOVEDaccount on October 9, 2026, I could not locate a corresponding refund credit.
If a refund was processed, please provide the date, amount, transaction or processor reference number, destination payment method, and available confirmation showing where the funds were sent. I will review that information with my bank.
The separate $99 bank dispute is a separate process, and its current status has not yet been independently confirmed. It does not establish that the refund claimed in the business's BBB response was received.
I continue to request the $198 refund promised in the written guarantee, with $99 as the minimum amount requested in my original complaint.
I ask that the complaint remain open for further review until the business provides verifiable refund information or the requested refund is received and confirmed. I am willing to review any documentation the business provides.Business Response

Hi Econna,
I understand your concern about not seeing the refund in your bank account yet. The $99 refund was issued on October 7, 2026, to the original payment method. Refunds take 5 to 10 business days to reflect, so it may not have appeared when you checked on October 9.
Weve attached the refund receipt confirming the amount, issue date, and payment method.
This receipt confirms the $99 purchase refund, which was the amount of the purchase through FanBasis.
Thank you,

I am marking complaint #REMOVEDNOT RESOLVED.
The business states the $99 charge was already fully refunded. As of October 19, 2026, no $99 or $198 credit from Commas, FanBasis, REMOVEDor REMOVEDhas posted to my account, and the business has produced no refund date, amount, transaction or processor reference, or destination payment method for me to locate with my bank.
At purchase, the merchant's representative gave a written double-money-back guarantee of $198. The second $99 the balance owed under that written guarantee remains unpaid. My refund requests of September 13 and September 28, 2026 went unanswered.
On October 18, 2026, the business replied to my demand by inventing new conditions for the $198 that were never in the written guarantee: either earn nothing in the first week through dashboard advertising, or actively promote for 60 days plus complete three "Success Manager" calls. These post-hoc conditions are impossible to meet the Success Manager calls do not even function. I reject these invented criteria; the written guarantee stands as written.
Please keep this complaint open until the full $198 is actually received and documented. Thank you.Initial Complaint

Summary of Complaint -On 2/26/25, I paid $5,000.00, through the FanBasis, which recently rebranded to Commas, merchant payment processing platform, to a Seller offering a 1-on-1 Mentorship and Coaching Program.-On 5/25/26, in accordance with FanBasis/Commas published REMOVEDI filed a Formal Dispute and Request for Partial Refund for Material Misrepresentation of Purchased 1-on-1 Mentorship and Coaching Program with them, against the Seller. -On 5/27/26, FanBasis/Commas confirmed: receipt of my dispute and Assigned Case Number #REMOVED. They stated I could send any additional documentation to add to my case file and that case investigations could take REMOVEDdays to complete. -On 6/9/26, I contacted FanBasis/Commas with additional documentation to add. I notified them that I no longer had any access at all to the 1-on-1 Mentorship and Coaching Program I paid $5,000.00 to join. My login credentials had been revoked by the Seller. -On 6/18/26, I received written communication directly from the Seller regarding Dispute Settlement. He stated that he received my FanBasis/Commas dispute and offered me the $2,500 partial refund I requested in Document 2. -On 7/8/26, I received written confirmation from FanBasis/Commas that my partial refund had been issued and processed. They stated I would receive it in 5-10 business days, if I had not already. In a later phone call, they stated the $2,000 reference was a typo. -On 9/18/26, more than 60 days after confirming my refund had been issued and processed, and after many email/phone follow-up attempts asking where it was, I received a written statement from FanBasis/Commas saying, now, I will never get the money back. Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business, in reference to complaint ID REMOVED, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. But it is *only* satisfactory to me in that I did finally receive payment of my partial refund of $2,500.00. What it took for me to actually receive it, in terms of my time, energy, and dedicated, protracted focus, is totally unsatisfactory and completely unacceptable. The conduct of this business is unprofessional, substandard, morally unethical, and financially risky to consumers, in my opinion and experience. The way that it operates and the commerce that it facilitates are major concerns and red flags. The amount of online complaints and negative reviews for this business are off the charts.Sincerely,

On 29 Sep 2025 I paid USD REMOVEDby REMOVEDthrough FanBasis (now Commas) for a full REMOVEDwebsite rebuild sold by REMOVED(REMOVED, REMOVED), a seller on its platform. The seller confirmed USD REMOVEDin writing as the full price; a separate USD REMOVED"remainder" was charged the same day with no added scope, which FanBasis's Terms (s.4) prohibit.Nothing was delivered. The site was never published, and on 22 Aug 2026 the seller's director confirmed in writing: "The site was not taken live."FanBasis's Terms (s.7.1) make FanBasis "the sole provider and contracting merchant" with "full responsibility for billing, refunds, chargebacks." Sellers have "no independent authority to ... refund Buyers" (s.7.4). Buyer Protection (s.17.16) promises a refund where an offering materially differs from its description.I sent a formal demand on 21 Aug 2026 (ticket #REMOVED). FanBasis twice replied that a dispute was "currently being reviewed by the financial institutions." That was false: REMOVEDhad closed it on REMOVEDAug. On 9 Sep FanBasis apologised for "the confusion caused by our earlier replies," then refused because "the seller previously rejected the dispute." On 10 Sep it refused again, saying its policies "are used to guide platform expectations" but "do not allow us to override" the outcome, and "we're unable to force a refund."I never asked for a new card dispute. I asked FanBasis to refund me as the merchant its own Terms say it is. REMOVEDsays it can do nothing and I must deal with FanBasis; FanBasis says REMOVEDdecided it.Also reported to the REMOVED(report REMOVED). I am asking for a refund of USD REMOVEDto my REMOVEDcard.Business Response

Hello,
The $4,000 and $1,000 charges dated September 29, 2025 were each formally disputed by the customer through REMOVED. Both disputes were investigated and resolved by REMOVEDin the merchant's favor, closing on August 1011, 2026. Under our Terms of Service, a card network's final dispute determination is binding and is not subject to override by Commas.
We acknowledge that in earlier correspondence with the customer, our support team gave an inaccurate status update stating the dispute was "still under review" after it had, in fact, already been decided. We apologize for that error and any added frustration it caused; it does not, however, change the underlying outcome of the dispute itself.
We understand the customer's position is that he is not seeking to relitigate the card dispute, but is instead requesting a direct merchant refund independent of that outcome. We have reviewed this request together with the circumstances of the underlying transaction, including that the customer did not raise concerns with us until nearly eleven months after the purchase, and that the dispute process, through which both parties were able to present evidence, has already run its course and concluded in the merchant's favor.
At this time, we are not able to issue an additional refund on top of the completed card network determination.Customer Answer
Date: 09/21/2026
Complaint: 25260487
I am rejecting this response because:1. Commas does not claim anything was delivered. Nothing was. The seller's director confirmed in writing on 22 Aug 2026: "The site was not taken live."
2. I did not wait eleven months. I asked the seller in writing for a full refund on 8 Dec 2025, and the seller refused on 9 Dec. I disputed both charges with REMOVEDon 9 Dec 2025, ten weeks after purchase. Commas says it took part in that dispute and presented evidence.
3. I can find no clause in Commas's Terms that makes a card network's decision binding on Commas. The Terms in force when I paid (archived 8 Sep and 3 Oct 2025) say the opposite: "FanBasis has the sole and absolute right to initiate refunds to Buyerswith or without your consentif we determine... that you have... failed to deliver on promises made... This right applies even if you dispute the basis for the refund." The current Terms (s.17.3) say that where an offering "cannot be completed as described, Commas may... issue a refund or credit" and that "Commas' determination... is final and binding." The refund decision belongs to Commas.
4. A card dispute decides whether the card issuer reverses a charge. It does not stop a merchant from giving a refund. REMOVEDhas told me it can take no further action and that I must resolve this with Commas. Commas now says the card network decided. Each one sends me to the other.
Resolution sought: a refund of USD REMOVEDto my REMOVEDcard.Sincerely,
Matteo DiadelfoBusiness Response

Thank you for your response. We've reviewed the points raised and our position remains that no additional refund is due on this transaction.
The Terms of Service governing your use of the Commas platform, and any transactions conducted on it, are the Terms as published and in effect on REMOVEDnot a third-party archive snapshot from an external site. Archived captures of prior page states are not a reliable or authoritative record of the governing agreement, and we do not agree with the characterization of clauses drawn from them. Under the current, applicable Terms (17.3), where Commas determines that an offering cannot be completed as described, Commas may issue a refund or credit, and Commas' determination on that question is final and binding. That review was conducted, and our determination was that no refund is owed.
Both charges associated with this transaction were also independently reviewed and resolved by REMOVEDin the merchant's favor. That outcome is consistent with, not contrary to, our own determination.
We understand you disagree with this outcome. However, our position has not changed: based on our review of the transaction and the applicable Terms, we are not issuing a refund.Customer Answer

Complaint: 25260487
I reject this response. It is not satisfactory.
Complaint: 25260487
I reject this response. It is not satisfactory.
1. Commas has now given a third reason, and it contradicts the first two.
- 10 Sep 2026, support, in writing: "this isn't a case where we're exercising discretion against you" and "our system does not allow a subsequent refund on the same charge."
- 21 Sep 2026, to BBB: a card network's decision "is binding and is not subject to override by Commas."
- Now: the refusal is Commas's own decision, made at its discretion.
I asked which clause makes a card decision binding on Commas. Commas has not named one and has dropped the point. The refund was always Commas's to give.
2. Section 17.3 does not say what Commas says. It reads: if an offering "cannot be completed as described, Commas may, at its discretion, adjust the transaction or issue a refund or credit." Those are the three outcomes. Keeping the whole payment is not one of them. Commas says a review "was conducted" but gives no date, finding or reason. In two responses to BBB it has not once said the service was delivered. The seller's director confirmed in writing on 22 Aug 2026 that the site "was not taken live".
3. I paid on 29 Sep 2025. The Terms Commas relies on are marked "Last updated July 1, 2026." Commas calls the archived 2025 copies unreliable but does not say what its Terms said on the day I paid. It has its own records. I ask Commas to give BBB its Terms as they stood on 29 Sep 2025. Either version leaves the refund decision with Commas.
4. REMOVEDdid not find that anything was delivered. It closed the main dispute for want of "a valid written refund confirmation from the merchant", a document only Commas can issue. A card dispute does not stop a merchant refunding its own customer.
Resolution sought: a refund of USD REMOVEDto my REMOVEDcard. If Commas refuses, please record this complaint as unresolved.
Sincerely,
Matteo DiadelfoBusiness Response
Date: 10/14/2026
Dear Mr. REMOVEDyou for your additional detail. We have reviewed it, and our position is unchanged.
Our position has been consistent: your transaction went through the formal dispute process, and Commas separately reviewed your refund request and declined it. Our earlier references to the card dispute outcome and to platform processes described how that process applied in your case. They were never offered as the only basis for our decision.
On Section 17.3, the language you quote says Commas may, at its discretion, adjust a transaction or issue a refund or credit. That wording gives Commas discretion. It does not create an obligation to refund, and it does not entitle a buyer to a refund. You also note that, in your reading, the refund decision rests with Commas under either version of the Terms. We agree. A right held by Commas is not a duty owed to the buyer. In your case, Commas exercised its discretion and declined.
Both charges were also formally disputed by you, and both disputes were investigated and resolved by
REMOVEDin the merchants favor after both parties had the opportunity to present evidence. We cannot speak for REMOVEDon how it described the closure; the outcome was in the merchants favor. The position throughout has been that the work was performed and that the project did not launch because it stalled. We have no basis to override that position at this stage.
We appreciate you taking the time to raise these points.Customer Answer
Date: 10/16/2026
Complaint: 25260487
I reject this response. It is not satisfactory.
1. Commas now agrees the refund decision rests with Commas alone, under either version of its Terms. So Commas could have refunded me at any time and chose not to.
2. That is not what Commas told me in writing on 10 Sep 2026. Its support team wrote that the refusal "isn't a discretionary decision either FanBasis/Commas or the seller is making case by case", and that "our system does not allow a subsequent refund on the same charge." Commas now says it "exercised its discretion and declined." Both cannot be true. This is the fourth different reason Commas has given, and it still gives no date, finding or reason for the review it says it made.
3. "The work was performed." I paid USD REMOVEDin full for a finished, live website. Work on a draft that was never published is not delivery. The seller's director confirmed in writing on 22 Aug 2026 that the site "was not taken live." Commas has not named one thing I received that I could use.
4. Commas "cannot speak for REMOVED." Amex's own letter of 11 Aug 2026 says it closed the main dispute because it needed "a valid written refund confirmation from the merchant." Commas has now confirmed it is that merchant, and that it refuses.
5. I asked Commas to give BBB its Terms as they stood on 29 Sep 2025, the day I paid. It has not done so.
Resolution sought: a refund of USD REMOVEDto my REMOVEDcard. I do not accept this response. Please close this complaint as unresolved.

I am exercising the 60-day money-back/satisfaction guarantee presented with the offer at the time of purchase. I spent 20 minutes this afternoon on a "success call" with one of your representatives who said there was nothing he could do to help me understand the business unless I was willing to open a line of credit and then speak with his manager to build out my business. I was simply wanting more information about the business that has been set up through REMOVED, given that the portal gives no information as to how to build out the website. He told me that unless I was willing to open the line of credit, "You get what you paid for," and he proceeded to hang up. I imagine he meant that by only spending $99, I was at the end of the "help" they would offer, and that more help would only come if I opened a line of credit and paid more for a success coach and other add-ons. I was specifically speaking with REMOVED, who stated that his personal cell number was REMOVED. Please cancel my participation, ensure that no additional or recurring charges are made, and refund the full $99.00 to my original method of payment, which was Cash App. The order was processed at 4:05 p.m. on August 29th.Please confirm in writing that you have initiated my refund and that I will not incur any additional charges.Thank you,REMOVEDBusiness Response

When considering complaint information, please consider the company's size and volume of transactions. Note that the nature of complaints and a company’s responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints. BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period.
