We have reviewed the complaint and account of ************* **************** account was repurchased by ************** on October 30.2023. Mid Atlantic Finance has reported the account to the credit bureaus as repurchased by the original dealership. Although we have not received a request for a copy of the contract prior to this complaint, we have mailed a copy to the address provided in the complaint. Mid Atlantic Finance does not have additional information about the account after the repurchase. I am rejecting this response because: I did not have the vehicle during the time of the missed payments because the engine went out and the car dealership took the vehicle in for repairs. The vehicle was determined to be totaled because repairs exceeded cost of vehicle. I never had the car back in my possession during the months the payments were not made by me. ************** had the vehicle and for a while did not commmunicate with myself or Mid-Atlantic in regards to this matter, causing the payments to continue for 3 months. I am very upset, and will take all necessary precautions to have this removed from my credit history as I am looking to buy a new vehicle. This is unfair. I NEVER HAD A MISSED PAYMENT UNTIL ************** TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK FOR REPAIRS AND KEPT IT!

I purchased a vehicle from ******** in ************** ********. They were a buy-here pay-here company. They sold the debt a few weeks later to Mid-Atlantic Finance in ********** *******. Since then they have been a nightmare. I've told them by mail, and by phone to stop contacting me before the late date on the loan, and they ignore me. They not only call me, but my family, demanding I pay them before the late date. I'm sick of the games.Business Response

I have reviewed the account and complaint of ******************* Mid Atlantic Finance does not have a record of receiving the letter sent by ******************, and the tracking number provided shows the letter was picked ** in a facility in *****, **. Mid Atlantic Finance has offices in **********, ** and *******, **, so the letter was not received in our offices. However, after a review of ********************** account, we are submitting a request to the national credit reporting agencies to delete the trade line. This request will be submitted today, but the national credit reporting agencies can take up to 60 days to process the request, although it is normally much quicker. I have reviewed the complaint and account of Mr. ****. The tile was mailed to Mr. **** on August 4, 2023, to the address on record. The title appears to have been lost in transit. In an effort to expedite Mr. ****'s receipt of title, a lien release was sent on August 29, 2023, which Mr. **** confirmed receipt. Mid Atlantic can order a duplicate title to be sent to Mr. ****, but this avenue of title replacement can take up to 6 weeks to complete. If Mr **** can take the lien release to his local DMV and request a lien-free duplicate, Mid Atlantic will reimburse him the cost associated with the duplicate title. Mr. **** will need to provide the receipt from the DMV to ******************** once completed. We also ask Mr. **** to provide the address he would like the refund or any future correspondence sent to. This company contracts/employ some very rude individuals. My contract was sold to them without my knowledge, which I had no choice but to be okay with. My account is currently past due. Their website only allows you to make the payment for the full part due amount, instead of a payment for whatever amount can be paid at the moment. That should be in the category of unethical. I attempted to make a payment for one month on 10/20/2023, but couldnt do so because of the website. I was going to make a total of 3 separate payments for the past due amount to be paid before the month is up. I receive a call from **** *** and explain I attempted to make a payment but couldnt do and moving forward I will make a total of 3 payments to bring the account current. I couldnt finish explaining before I was rudely interrupted and told I couldnt make partial payments, I needed between $400 - $500 and they could work me for the next month. I attempted to explain my payment plan again but was rudely interrupted. I told her I couldnt make the payment at once and will call back when I could. She then stated I needed the full past due balance and that my car is going to be set for repo and I better have the car. Under what law or practice is threatening and being disrespectful towards customers okay? I hung up to avoid a panic attack. I calls back and the next agent hangs up as well after I asked for a supervisor and told I just want to make a payment & refused to answer questions she already had the answers to, such as employment address. The employees are out of line and does not display good leadership skills nor positively represent any company. Its already hard on people, because of inflation and theyre trying to make it harder. This company is trying to defraud me with charges that i have already paid or that i do not owe.On Dec 22,2022, i decided to pre-pay and i made a lump sum payment of $2,940.00 that covered through July 14th. The website for this business, showed a balance of $113.26 owed. I called and asked why the website show i owed $113.28. I was told that i owed nothing until July 14th. I later paid the $113.28.I just recently received a call that that i am 12 days past due and that i have to make another payment that has already been made. They now claim that the $113.28 that i last paid went towards interest for the lengthy period that payment wasn't made. Why should there be interest charged for months that were pre-paid? This is a criminal attempt at extortation. This company has a horrible reputation and very poor reviews for dishonesty and extortion.Business Response

However, the amount paid did not total an equal number of months, so there was a partial payment due for the month of June. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is not satisfactory to me. according to my payment history which midatlantic finance sent me, it shows that the payment i made of ****** was indeed due on july 14th not june 14th . as it shows on the file -1 day before the due date of 07/14/2023 . if the due date was 06/14/2023 as your saying, why didnt it say i was past due when i went to pay? why does it show that i paid a day earlier on my payment history? infact it even says in the payment history my lumpsome payment paid past the due date of 06/14/2023 to 07/14/23 with ****** remaining to pay. i payed that on
07/13/2023 as shown in the file of my payment history sent by mid atlantic fincance, and then it shows that none of it went towards my balance to pay it off. instead they took that ******$ and put it all towards intrest. i would like a professional to look at this situation, as i feel like i am being cheated.

I recently paid off my car loan and went to get my car registered in ******** on 6/28/23. At that time, they told me that I needed the car title, and my car was registered in *******. I called mid-Atlantic on 6/28/23 and I was told that the repo department had to make the name change. I have called over two weeks- leaving messages and voicemails. Nobody will call me back! I plan on going to the ***** at this point, because I feel like I am being discriminated against. I have a car that I am unable to drive because I can't get the car registered under my name!
