I have been making payments with mid Atlantic finance company for a long time now. I recently became late on a few payments and when trying to call, email, and text them multiple times randomly within the last few weeks I've had no response. The car is a terrible car and I was sold fixed up junk. The company I also trying to charge me an extra $125 with no explanation of why. I am very unsettled and wish they would let me know if they're going to work with me or schedule them to come get it. My main concern is communication tho. They blow my phone up but cannot answer me when I try to contact them. Very unprofessional.

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding the mishandling of my auto loan account and unjustified increase in the balance following the sale of my vehicle loan by ************************ in *******, *******, to Mid Atlantic Finance Company.I purchased a vehicle from ************* in November 2023 and had been making regular payments as agreed. Without prior notice or proper documentation, my account was sold to ********************. After the transfer, I was informed by Mid Atlantic that my balance was more than /$3,000 higher than what was last reported by ************* prior to the sale.I have made numerous attempts to resolve this issue by contacting both companies. ************* has since gone out of business and is no longer responsive. Mid Atlantic Finance Company has refused to investigate or verify the discrepancy in the loan balance. Instead, they have continued to demand payment under threat of repossessing my vehicle. This situation has caused me significant stress and financial hardship. I am requesting the following:1. A full and transparent accounting of the loan from both Credit Nation and Mid Atlantic Finance.2. A proper investigation into the discrepancy in the balance at the time of transfer.3. Immediate cessation of any repossession actions until the matter is fairly reviewed and resolved.I am seeking assistance from the Better Business Bureau in mediating this complaint and holding Mid Atlantic Finance accountable for their refusal to address this serious issue.Sincerely,******* *****

We have reviewed the complaint and account of Ms. ****** Ms. ***** purchased a 2009 Kia ***** from ************* Auto Sales on November 1, 2023, and Mid Atlantic Finance bought the account from Credit Nation Auto Sales in August 2024.  When Mid Atlantic Finance bought the account, the current balance was $6,308.40 and that is the beginning loan amount that Mid Atlantic Finance is reporting. The contract terms remain the same and have not been altered.  Ms. ***** made a payment of $350.00 to Credit Nation Auto Sales after we bought the account and the payment was posted to Ms. ******* account on August 1, 2024. All payments made by Ms. ***** to Mid Atlantic Finance have been on time, and the account was never placed for repossession. A review of all account notes verifies that Ms. ***** was never told the account was in danger of being placed for repossession. As of today, the account is current and there are 8 monthly payments remaining on the loan. We previously emailed a payment history to Ms. ***** as requested. If Ms. ***** would like another payment history or would like a copy of the payment history with Credit Nation Auto Sales, we would be happy to mail copies to her. If Ms. ***** has additional questions or would like additional information of payments made, she is urged to call our Account ******************** Department at ***************************

I used the supplied payment book and paid off the loan on a car that I bought in ********. The loan specifically stated that the loan was NOT to be reported to the credit bureaus. It was in a buy-here pay-here establishment and the loan was agreed on on the specific condition that it not appear on my credit because I was going through bankruptcy. They violated that agreement and reported it anyway. I notified on of the operators to correct this, and they agreed, tentatively, with, "I'll see if I can do that."The terms of the loan were met. I submitted the final payment with the copy of the final page in the payment book and a check that stated, "Final Payment." I expected that the loan was completed. I have photo records of every single payment, as this company was rude, disrespectful, and would NOT stop calling me when I informed them in violation of the Fair Credit Collections Act.They will remove the 90 days late on my credit report, OR remove the item completely from the credit report, OR refund me all the money I paid for violating the agreement between me and J&J Used Cars.

      Complaint: 23313638

I am rejecting this response because:  I filed the initial paperwork for Bankruptcy and discussed this with J&J Auto at the time.  My discussions were with them, not Mid Atlantic.  When I got the onboarding call from Mid Adlantic, I asked the man to not report this to the credit bureaus.  It was a surprise that they did.  I specifically kept this account out of the bankruptcy and off the books to protect myself from having to do continuance on the payments.  The contract was with J&******, and I would recommend you contact them instead of attempting to answer FOR them.  Also, you are showing me late on the final payment, that was made on time.

      The bankruptcy was initiated on

You can contact ******** ***** @ ******************************************** who is my primary attorney to verify the date I initiated the retainer, or **** ***** - Email: ***************************** Office Number: **************  for information on the completion of the bankruptcy.  The bankruptcy process was initiated on May 1st, 2023 and due to the complexities of shutting down a business and sourcing paperwork, the case was filed in the Western District Court of Kentucky on or about January of 2025,  final order closing the case was on the 7th of May, 2025.

Gentlemen.  This is a simple ask that may cost you a lot of money if you don't comply.  Honor the agreement I made with J&J, and remove this from my credit report, or, correct the final payment to not show late.  Your choice, but the next time we talk, it will be through our lawyers.  I'm done playing games.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******

I am disputing an invalid account reported by ******************** on my credit report. This account is inaccurate, unverified, and violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Mid Atlantic keeps calling my business asking for a person who has not been a client since March 2023. I have called 2 times and have asked to please remove my business number as its not his. I have picked up the calls and said its not his and have asked someone to reach out as well which has not happened. This is not his t number and the last time I spoke with a person (*****) I did say I would be reporting them if I continue to receive these calls. I will also do with *** since we are on the do not call list. It is ridiculous that even after being notified that this is not that person number that they continue to harass my business. A simple ****** search or even a look at the website they would be able to see the number they call belongs to a business. At this point I am taking it as harassment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
