1 starCompany ran by legitmate crooks. Price increases at every turn, several items damaged and broken upon delivery only to be ghosted by the entire "team" there when reaching out for the alleged 10k worth of coverage you get for the move. Not only did the price increase during the process; they also do not pay for any of your damaged items from transit. Do not trust these people! 1 starOn Sept. 8, 2025 we had a terrible and very deceptive experience with this company. We received a binding estimate dated Aug. 15, for $4,203.54. The company insisted on getting the estimate over the phone, in which items were described and listed in detail (63 items + 142 pieces contracted). Despite this, on the day of pickup, the 2nd party representatives (Golden Glove Movers) demanded an extremely increased quoted amount of over $6000 after looking through the house. We were coerced into depositing a HIGH amount of $1750 during the initial estimate with the company saying the price will increase if he does not act NOW. There was no way to back out without losing a huge deposit. We sadly had to use their services and told them only to move $5,000 worth of items (this left over ? of boxes / furniture we wanted initially agreed to move). The final inventory receipt after had ************************************************************************* the contract, yet the cost was exponentially more. The contract states, Your estimated price will not change unless you order additional services, add additional items to be moved, or additional cubic feet or weight to be moved which are not specifically listed on this estimate.Not once did the representative on the phone for specific measurements. If the price of the move is based on cubic feet, how can they give an estimate without any real measurements? Additionally, the moving company proceeded to add extra charges for wrapping specific furniture such as glass tables, which was not discussed when making the contract. They also demanded a full payment by money order before driving to the drop off location. We had communicated to them that according to the contract, we would be paying by **** Credit Card for the initial pick up and paying the rest of the delivery and service by money order. We feel that we have been severely misled and mistreated by the entire experience.Coastal Moving Services, LLC

Your booking was based on the inventory provided, with space reserved and priced by cubic footage. As noted in your estimate, final charges can change if the actual items, dimensions, or packing requirements differ from what was initially reserved. Bulky or non-stackable items can increase cubic footage even when the number of pieces seems similar, and we regret if this was not explained clearly. On 09/05 we sent you an email titled Important Details and Payment Options, outlining the carrier servicing your move and the accepted forms of payment for pick up and delivery.
We understand your frustration regarding packing costs, payment methods, and the overall process. 5 starsI had a great experience with this Coastal Moving Services for my move from ************** to ********. They set me up with Moving Hub who handled a full pack service, as well as unpacked everything. All the men from the ones who loaded to the ones who delivered made this process as stress free as possible. There was a slight increase in the packing charge due to the amount of china / glass I had. I especially want to shout out **** from Coastal. He assured me from the start my move would go as well as it did. Super helpful, always quick to answer my questions, and made the whole process way less stressful. 1 starDO NOT HIRE THEM:I contacted Coastal Moving Services for an urgent, last-minute cross-country move. During the initial consultation with customer representative ******* *****, I was explicitly promised a crew of five movers and a 26-foot truck, to arrive by the end of that day or the following morning.When I explained that the existing moving crew was not completing the project, and therefore I could not provide a detailed inventory of items to be moved, Mr. ***** stated, "Just tell me the ten largest things you might think it will be, it doesn't really matter."This statement was demonstrably false and misleading. In reliance on it, I provided an incomplete list of items, understanding that an accurate itemization was not required for an accurate estimate. It was a fraudulent inducement that got me to sign the contract. The promises made by Coastal Moving Services were not upheld. As these statements and promises were not upheld, I am formally requesting the reversal of the deposit transaction.Fraudulent Misrepresentation:oThe estimate was based on an incomplete and potentially inaccurate list oMovers did not show up until the following night when a verbal guarantee was given that they would show up that evening or the next morning. You state they promised to provide a 26-foot truck, but the truck that arrived was only half full. If the contract explicitly stated a full 26-foot truck would be provided (or its equivalent in space), this could be a breach.Breach of Verbal Commitment: Number of Movers The agreement was for five movers, but only three arrived. This is a direct violation of the agreed-upon terms, assuming the contract specified the number of movers.Leveraging a Vulnerable Position:Took advantage of your situation to offer a new estimate that was 150% higher. This could be considered an unethical business practice, especially if the original estimate was knowingly inaccurate.Coastal Moving Services, LLC

1 starI hired this moving company and when the movers came they would do nothing till I resigned another agreement because they could not do the move. I f I cancelled all the money I paid so far which was half would be forfeited. I did sign and have them do it. Then it took them three months to deliver my stuff. On top of that they called me on the day they want to deliver and expect payment before hand. Sorry after eight promises to deliver I will do it upon delivery per the contract. That was not good enough they left and then charged me a 1000 dollar redelivery fee. I talked to the owner and he said he would wave it and only pay the original price. Well that lasted less then 12 hours they came to deliver and wouldn't without paying the full amount. Or they would take my stuff and I would encounter another redelivery fee. When they took my things the first time they left somethings behind. I called the company and they took off a couple hundred due to this. That was forgotten really fast. The owner called me and was cussing me out calling me names. I Would not use this company!!!!!!Coastal Moving Services, LLC

1 starDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When I first called to get a quote the person that was helping me quoted me a little over $3,000. And when he inquired about my items he was changing my description from me saying Large to him saying Small. I also had to put down $1,200 to hold my "Spot". I was also never informed that they would keep my deposit if I ever cancelled. Well a few days before my move another person called to get my full inventory and my quote was $8,800! And when I informed him that I forgot to include my mattress and box spring it went up another $700! Are you kidding me? So when I informed this person that I wanted to cancel my moving with them he informed me that I would loose the $1,200 that I had already paid! This is complete BS that some company can do this to people. I could see maybe a couple hundred bucks, but the whole deposit? Completely Ridiculous! He also tried telling me that if I went with another company that they would just show up and price ***** me. I informed him that they just did the same thing! Because he to would change my descriptions. So then what? You show up and ***** me for more money because my description, or your description isn't the same as what you see? Of course you would! I really hope that your mother is proud of the man that you've become, scamming customers to make them pay more money and the job that you have acquired. We want to take the time to carefully respond to your concerns and clarify what occurred with your reservation.
You booked services with us on August 11 for a pickup scheduled on September 2021. That initial estimate reflected an inventory of 68 items with a space reservation of approximately 448 cubic feet. A few days before pickup, during a routine follow-up call, you updated your inventory to a total of 214 items. This significant increase raised your estimated space requirement to about ***** cubic feet, which is why the overall cost of the move increased. To be clearthis was not a scam but an actual reflection of the additional space required.
Regarding cancellation, as outlined in your signed estimate and terms, deposits are fully refundable only if cancellation occurs within 72 hours of booking. After that period, the deposit becomes nonrefundable because our role as a licensed booking agent has already been fulfilled by securing space, preparing logistics, and assigning a carrier. Since your cancellation was requested well beyond the 72-hour window, the deposit could not be refunded.
It is also important to note that our customer service department did attempt to reach you on September 17 to address your questions and concerns, but we were unable to connect with you.
We regret that this process left you frustrated, but the adjustments made to your estimate were directly tied to the significant increase in items listed for your move. The deposit policy was clearly disclosed in the documentation you signed, and while we understand your disappointment, these terms are standard across the industry.
