I had decided to work with this company because they had promised to help me with my credit. they promised to remove all negative accounts on my credit, they told me they had been negotiating and paying the banks that i owed, when i had called the banks, this was not true. This went on for a year, I spent *****, with absolutely no results or answers.

    Business Response

Cordoba Legal Group is a legitimate law firm committed to delivering results for its clients through a structured, results-oriented approach. While we respect your concerns, your complaint does not align with the facts of your case.

You retained our firm to represent you against six creditors. To date, we have achieved resolutions with four accounts: three with *********** and one with ****. These resolutions saved you thousands of dollars, as evidenced by the attached resolution contracts. The fees associated with our services were performance-based, meaning we only earned fees once results were produced, as outlined in the contract.

Regarding the claim that we promised to remove negative accounts from your credit report, its important to clarify that our firm does not make such guarantees. Our focus is on resolving debts, not credit repair. Additionally, any impact on your credit score was explained during on boarding and in the signed contract. Credit scores may decrease as a natural part of the resolution process, which is designed for individuals who are unable to continue making payments to their creditors.

The suggestion that no progress was made is incorrect. The resolution of four accounts demonstrates substantial progress. All funds you paid into your account were held in a third-party account under your control and used exclusively for resolutions and associated fees once results were produced. At no point do we advise clients to stop making payments, but we do work with individuals who are already struggling to keep up with payments.

If there are any remaining concerns or misunderstandings, our team will reach out to address them and provide further clarification.

I enrolled with a debt consolidation company due to the fact I was laid off/trying to turn things around after financial hardships. One of the accounts I enrolled, was from when during COVID I enrolled in a debt consolidation and unfortunately the first was unsuccessful reaching an agreement. I set up a payment plan this past year on my own and informed Cordoba Legal *** I was making payments but was told they would work at getting me a better agreement, so to not make those payments. Now I received documents threatening a Lien against me and ultimately had to reach out and handle it on my own, AGAIN.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/27/2024

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We have thoroughly reviewed your file, including all communication logs and call recordings, to address the matters raised.

When you retained Cordoba Legal Group on June 20, 2024, the account in question had already been subject to legal proceedings. The court had rendered a judgment, as evidenced by the document dated June 17, 2024, three days before you began your personalized plan with our firm. Unfortunately, no law firm, including ours, could intervene or defend the case at that point, as the court decision had already been finalized. Our team was unaware of the legal proceedings involving this account until November 25, 2024, when you provided this information.

Regarding the payment plan you set up independently, we want to clarify that Cordoba Legal Group does not advise clients to stop making payments. Our process is designed to assist individuals who are already behind on payments to their creditors. Any guidance provided during your initial conversations would have been in the context of explaining how our resolutions process works, which involves negotiating with creditors on your behalf. If there was a misunderstanding, we sincerely regret any confusion this may have caused.

We are actively working to assist you with your other creditors and are pleased to share that a significant resolution has already been achieved with one of them, which demonstrates our commitment to producing results on your behalf. Our team will continue to work diligently on your remaining accounts.

If you have additional questions or concerns about your personalized plan or specific accounts, our team will reach out to discuss further and ensure clarity moving forward.

I am rejecting this response because: while on the phone and initially setting up my account with **********************, the representative said to stop making any payments. I remember because I asked and even mentioned that the previous debt consolidation failed me, and I had to resolve the account mentioned and another on my own in the prior months. I had spoken with ******* and ******* in the fall of 2023 I believe it was and resolved one account and setup the payment plan for this account in question. Now I have to pay $200/Month to ******* and ******* due to Cordoba Legals misleading direction when I could of kept making $150 payments. I plan on dismissing Cordoba Legal Immediately and not paying them any further funds due to their lack of competence on this matter.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ******

    Business Response

    Date: 12/02/2024

We understand your concerns and appreciate the opportunity to address them. Our records show that you retained our firm in June 2024, after you had already resolved the account with ******* and ******* in 2023. Given this timeline, our firm could not have provided assistance or guidance on that matter, as it occurred prior to your personalized plan with us.

Additionally, we want to clarify that Cordoba Legal Group does not advise clients to stop making payments to their creditors. The process is designed to assist individuals who are unable to continue making payments, and this is discussed in detail during the setup process and confirmed on a recorded line. Our team ensures transparency about the approach and its potential impacts, including the possibility of temporary credit score fluctuations, as outlined in your contract.

Regarding the $200 monthly payments to ******* and *******, it appears these arrangements were established independently of our firm before you retained our services. If you have additional concerns or would like further clarification on any aspect of your personalized plan, our team will reach out to address your questions and provide any necessary assistance.

Cordoba Legal Group is committed to delivering results for our clients, and we value the opportunity to clarify any misunderstandings. We remain available to assist you further.

This client is clearly confused and admits in their complaint they knew about legal proceedings in 2023, when this client retained our law firm in 2024. They are upset they received a default judgement and trying to blame our law firm when we were not in the picture until close to a year later. We have reviewed all communications no law suit was even mentioned to us at anytime. We did nothing wrong in this case at all.

    Complaint: 22608028

I am rejecting this response because: I had to reach out to ******* and ******* and re-establish a payment plan of $200 AFTER a representative with Cordoba said to turn off any "autopays" to accounts I had enrolled. I made mention of the ******* and ******* payment plan PRIOR to enrolling. Now I'm having to pay $50 more than originally accepted. I want a refund for the $500/month back to I was charged due to incompetency/misguidance on Cordoba's Part.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ******

    Customer Answer

I am not CONFUSED. Cordoba are the ones that are confused, not to mention most speak with such a heavy Spanish accent that customer service was a joke when trying to reach them by phone most days. I clearly made mention PRIOR to cancelling any payments/payment plans, etc. The representative back in June when I enrolled, said to cancel any plans/payments. And they claim they were unable to reach them. I was able to contact ******* mere MINUTES after speaking with Cordoba about their lack of efficiently handling the account. Now I have to pay more money and am even FURTHER behind the 8ball because of their misguidance.

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a financial institution like Cordoba Legal Group/Forth. I would rather deal with creditors than this place. The customer service team is not supportive. They tell you they will do things, and they don't. Every month of the 3rd $297.68 was withdrawn. They took the payments out 2 days early. Every time I called to ask them to send me proof that my Amazon credit was paid up. They would lie and tell me it takes 2 weeks, then 6 months Etc. I canceled the agreement on 10/21/24 and asked for my balance refund of $117.73. I was told I have zero balance because they gave it to the creditor, and then they told me it was used for fees. As soon as I canceled, they withdrew my money. Please return the balance that was left in my account. Businesses like this exploit those with fixed incomes when I attempt to do the right thing. On November 8th, 2024, I received a letter from Forth about a data security incident. Why did all this happen after I canceled?

    Business Response

    Date: 11/25/2024

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We value the opportunity to address them and provide clarity regarding your experience.

Cordoba Legal Group is a legitimate law firm committed to assisting clients through personalized plans tailored to their financial circumstances. Our fees are performance-based, meaning we only collect fees after results, such as resolutions, are achieved. All payments made go into a third-party account under your name, which is used to process resolutions and applicable fees only when results are obtained. The firm does not take unearned fees.

Regarding the timing of withdrawals, ACH transactions are required to be posted 48 hours in advance. We send the exact debit date to your bank for processing. If the transaction was processed earlier than expected, it would be due to your bank's posting schedule, which is beyond our control. We recommend reaching out to your bank directly to confirm their processing policies.

Documentation related to creditor resolutions is subject to the creditor's procedures, which can sometimes cause delays. We always aim to provide updates as soon as this information becomes available.

As for the data security incident you mentioned, we understand your concerns and assure you that protecting your information is of the utmost importance to us. Please reach out if you have additional questions about this matter.

Your refund has already been processed and should reflect in your account within approximately three business days. If you encounter any delays or require further assistance, our team will be available to help. We are committed to ensuring that your concerns are fully resolved.

    Date: 11/22/2024

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We understand the importance of feeling confident and secure when engaging with any financial program, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify our services.

First, Cordoba Legal Group is not a debt consolidation company. We are a law firm that specializes in consumer defense, and one area of our practice is assisting clients with negotiating with creditors on their behalf. We do not provide loans or operate as a lending institution. Our services are designed to help individuals facing financial hardships.

The entirety of the program was covered during our Welcome Call, where we confirmed with each client that they understand we are not lending them money. As part of this call, we require verbal acknowledgment of this understanding to ensure clarity and transparency. Additionally, our contract explicitly states that clients can cancel their enrollment anytime, providing further flexibility for those who decide not to move forward.

We also want to reassure you that Cordoba Legal Group is a legitimate business. This is evident through our Better Business Bureau profile, where this complaint was filed, our official website, and the over ****** five-star reviews we have received on Trustpilot from satisfied clients.

Since you mentioned you have not made any payments, action has yet to be taken on your account. Additionally, the personal information you provide us is handled with the utmost care and confidentiality by applicable data privacy laws. If you have concerns or questions about the information shared, we are more than happy to address them.
To provide further clarity and support, a team member will contact you today to discuss your options and ensure that all of your questions are answered.

Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention. We are here to help and wish you the best in addressing your financial needs.

Debt consolidation company I entered into an electronic agreement with the company on October 24, 2024. First payment was deducted from my Bank Account on November 8, 2024 in the amount of $592.72. None of my creditors have been paid. None of my accounts have been paid, or closed. Although they promise to pay off all debits that I included. I have several emails, and an online account. I want them to return my money. And cancel the one agreement I have with them, and my account closed. Based off of reading some online reviews, I strongly believe I have been scammed, and this company is fraudulent.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/18/2024

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand your concerns and appreciate the opportunity to address them directly. At Cordoba Legal Group, transparency and client support are top priorities, and we want to provide clarity regarding your program and experience with us.

First, we want to clarify that we are a debt resolution program, not a debt consolidation program. This distinction was explained during your Welcome Call on October 29, 2024, at 4:03 PM. During this call, we emphasized that we do not pay off your debts or lend money to clients. Both points were discussed, and you verbally acknowledged understanding them.

Weve also made several efforts to ensure you have all the necessary information about your program:
    * On October 31, we completed a proactive outreach call to answer any questions you may have had. Later that day, you contacted us for assistance with accessing your client portal, and we provided you with the login information to ensure visibility into your account.
    * On November 8, we made another proactive outreach call and left a voicemail when we were unable to reach you.
    * On November 13, you emailed our support group asking for clarification on the payment process. We promptly attempted to contact you to answer your questions, but unfortunately, we were unable to do so at that time.

This BBB complaint is the first notification weve received of your desire to cancel your account. Per our program terms, clients can cancel their accounts at any time by contacting our customer service team. Upon cancellation, any funds accumulated in your Forth Pay account will be refunded to you, as outlined in the agreement you signed during enrollment. To ensure this process is completed promptly, a member of our management team will contact you today to process your cancellation and refund.

While your time in the program has been less than a month, weve strive to be proactive and responsive to your inquiries. We regret that the program did not meet your expectations, and we are happy to answer any remaining questions you may have.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We remain committed to ensuring clarity and support for all of our clients. Should you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

This company was retained to help us settle some debt. They have failed to keep in contact. We have called twice and they hang up on us. Our issue was identify theft. Numerous fraudulent charges. We called again today to let them know that we actually had Lifelock and they would be taking over. They hung up.I have their standard up to $1,000,000 in coverage. They are supposed to help restore my credit. These companies should not be allowed to assist consumers who are involved in identity theft. My mortgage company was hacked, my insurance company was hacked. I was hacked. They might feel they are assisting, but they're just charging me more money to do something I think Lifelock will do better and will keep my apprised of what's going on. I have no proof that they are doing what they said they would do.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We understand the frustration and challenges that identity theft can bring, and we want to take this opportunity to clarify our role in your financial journey.

These services fall outside the scope of our program.

To date, we have successfully negotiated a favorable settlement on one of your debts for 40% of the original balance, which is a significant achievement toward reducing your financial burden. Our work has been focused solely on the accounts you enrolled and does not extend to unrelated accounts or identity theft issues.

Cordoba has taken $6,000 from me and applied $1600 to my actual debt. They encourage you to stop paying your credit card. I'm being sued by a creditor and Cordoba is no where to be found. They pick off the easy settlements and leave you to get sued on your own. Close this practice down.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/02/2024

Cordoba Legal Group is dedicated to securing effective resolutions for our clients. In your case, we have achieved resolutions on five accounts, resulting in over $5,000 in principal savings, with more than $2,500 already directed to your creditors. This payment approach is carefully structured to retain funds in your dedicated account, allowing us to continue negotiating favorable outcomes on your remaining accounts. Our performance-based fee structure means we only receive fees as we produce results, ensuring our interests are aligned with your financial progress.

Concerning the lawsuit, we were not made aware that legal action had been initiated by your creditor. We want to assure you that if we had been notified, we would have represented you in this matter, as providing legal assistance in such situations is a key aspect of our commitment. Its important to recognize that lawsuits are a tactic some creditors may use, which is why having legal representation, such as ours, is valuable to help guide you through these challenges.

Finally, while our process is designed to assist those who may already be struggling to keep up with payments, we do not advise anyone to stop making payments. Instead, our approach is tailored to support clients who are finding it difficult to meet their payment obligations, working towards positive resolutions with creditors.

Our staff will be reaching out to clarify any questions or concerns you might have.

Cordoba Legal Group would like to clarify that no funds were taken wrongfully. Our fees are performance-based, meaning we only take a fee when we achieve a resolution with a creditor on your behalf. In your case, we successfully obtained five resolutions with five separate creditors, each resulting in savings. These results align fully with the terms outlined in your contract.

Our approach is centered on achieving positive financial outcomes for our clients, and we adhere strictly to our contractual commitments in all cases. If you have specific questions about any charges or need further clarification, our team is available to review the details of your account with you.

Cordoba Legal Group has scamed us out of $4,564.00 over the past year, none of the debts listed in our contract have been settled. Several of the debts in our contract went into litigation, resulting in a wage garnishment. Cordoba Legal Group ensured that they would represent us if any legal matters arose due to financial hardship. Cordoba Legal preys on people in a crisis and promises debt relief. It is all lies.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. We understand how challenging financial hardships can be, and were sorry to hear the program did not meet your expectations.

Since your enrollment in November 2023, our team has worked to support you and achieve successful resolutions. One of your enrolled accounts with ******** was settled for 50% of the balance, and payments were made according to the negotiated terms. When a payment was skipped per your request, we informed you that this could impact the active settlement.

Regarding the account released in May, this change was made at your request, with you and your husband signing the necessary documentation to remove it from the program. When you later notified us about the garnishment in October, it was too far along in the legal proceedings for us to re-enroll the creditor and intervene.

Our team has provided documentation and responded to each inquiry youve raised to ensure transparency. After your recent cancellation request, we processed the stop on your final payments and outlined the steps for account closure.

We reached out to answer any further questions you may have. At that time, you stated that you wanted to ensure that your account had been canceled. I can confirm that your account has been canceled per your request.

We are committed to supporting our clients and appreciate your feedback. If you have any further questions, please dont hesitate to reach out. Thank you for the opportunity to clarify, and we wish you all the best as you work toward resolving your financial goals.

I am rejecting this response because it pertains to the debt for ********** Collection that was released in May 2024. This action was not initiated by my husband or me; we did not request the removal of this account. We also did not sign any documentation for its removal. The documents provided by Cordoba Legal did not contain my signature or my husbands. It appears that someone at Cordoba Legal fraudulently signed these documents.

Additionally, regarding the negotiations with ******** to settle for 50% of what was owed, this debt should have been fully paid off within the year of our payments. However, Cordoba Legal has charged numerous fees, and out of our $414 monthly payment, only about $200 went toward the principal debt.

In my experience, Cordoba Legal operates as a scam. They promise assistance while applying high pressure to sign up and even request a review at the beginning, which inflates their rating to over four stars in ****** searches.

I strongly recommend negotiating your debts on your own to save a significant amount of money that would otherwise be wasted on the fees charged by Cordoba Legal.

    Sincerely,

    ******** ******

Cordoba Legal Group takes allegations of misconduct seriously and would like to clarify our efforts on your behalf.

Regarding the release of the Bonneville Collection account, our records show that the removal was authorized by a signed document. This document, linked to an IP address within your state, confirms where it was electronically signed. We have this documentation to substantiate that the action was properly authorized, and we hope this clarification addresses any concerns about the legitimacy of this process. (please see attached documents)

Concerning the ******** account, our firm successfully negotiated a substantial resolution for approximately 50% of the balance owed, which provided significant savings compared to the original amount. Payments made toward this account have reached $2,491, with fees applied only as results were achieved in line with our performance-based model. This approach allows us to work effectively toward settlements while managing fees transparently, and its essential to recognize that our fees only apply as we deliver results.

Our goal is to alleviate financial challenges, not to increase them. Our initial reviews and ratings reflect our commitment to supporting clients in a transparent manner, with the intent of building trust. Regarding reviews, clients may share their experiences at any point, and while some clients may choose to share early positive experiences, Cordoba Legal operates with integrity and transparency at every stage.
If there are further questions or concerns about the documentation or account actions, our team is prepared to discuss this with you directly to provide additional clarity.

I am rejecting this response because the document provided proves nothing. Again, that is not my signature on the documents. Regarding the ** address, it was retrieved from the initial sign-up in November 2023. These documents are once again fraudulent.

This client is saying the ip address of the document signed by her or her husband was captured from 2023 from original enrollment which is not true. The document can be reviewed and its clear it was captured from the day the document was signed. there is no sense in us going back and forth with someone that is just blatantly lying.

Cordoba Legal Group is a legitimate law firm committed to assisting clients in achieving financial resolutions through a personalized plan tailored to their individual circumstances. We take all client concerns seriously and aim to provide clarity and transparency.

While we empathize with your concerns regarding your credit score, we would like to address a few points. At the outset of your personalized plan, during the induction call, it was clearly explained that this process can negatively affect your credit score. This information is also explicitly outlined in the retainer agreement you signed. The potential for a credit score to decline is inherent in the nature of the financial hardship assistance we provide, as it is designed for individuals already experiencing difficulty making payments to creditors.

Additionally, we would like to clarify that no communications from our team suggested your credit score would only drop "a little." Such a representation would be inconsistent with our training and policies, and our review of communication records found no mention of specific score predictions.

Please know that your satisfaction and understanding of the process are priorities for us. Our team will reach out to address any remaining concerns and clarify any misunderstandings about the process.

As for your remarks about the Better Business Bureau (BBB), we cannot comment on your experience with the organization. However, we remain focused on addressing your concerns and providing the assistance you need.
