      0 stars. I called to cancel once my contract ends (in less than two months) and they said I have to call back on the *exact* day that it ends. They even got an attitude when I asked a follow-up question and said, "Yeah, it's like *******. You can't just cancel." Which is incorrect, by the way. Terrible customer service and would tell anyone I know to run.

      They damaged our house when they installed the equipment and put big cracks in our vinyl siding. The cameras ran out of storage space and quit working early each month. They raised our monthly payment out of nowhere. To top it all off, after two years we are selling our house and they are charging us a lot of money for termination of our contract. I was on the phone with them today for over two ours before they finally hung up on me and said they will not let us out of the fine. Run. Run as fast as you can. Do not sign anything with ADT or their dealers. We are telling everyone we can and are seeking legal counsel.

      DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE "SO CALLED" 6 MONTH CUSTOMER SERVICE SATISFACTION GUARANTEE, they won't let you out of the contract if you are not a satisfied customer within the first six months. READ THE FINE PRINT, they will ONLY let you out of the contract if your security system is not working based on what they deem "not working". Within the first 30 days I had problems with the sensors being too sensitive & setting off the alarm for small things like a cabinet being shut too hard! After 5 different technicians troubleshooting the problem they finally figured it out. I spent too much time talking with their customer service team and they have the nerve to push your issues to fixing on your own through self-service tools. I heard they were the best security system, but they are absolutely not. I had much better service with my previous security company and paid half the price of what ADT charges its customers. And I didn't have a contract. It was a HUGE mistake to go into contract with ADT. I even sent a letter to their CEO detailing my bad experience and they still wouldn't let me out the contract without paying thousands of dollars. When I attempted to get out of the contract months prior to the "so called" six month guarantee I was told that my system needed to "not be working" in order for the six month customer satisfaction guarantee to be honored. I would deem 5 different ADT technicians being sent to my house month after month to figure out there were too many sensors installed from the beginning "not working", but it's obvious ADT doesn't think "the customer is always right". So much for customer obsession with them, spend your money where the goal is 100% customer satisfaction without fine print!

      ADTs equipment fail to work and I asked them to send me a itemized document for my canceling price so I can have a different security company pay for the cancellation and they said they couldnt send me a itemized document to show how much I owe

      Their equipment never worked. It was constantly broken down. When you try to get it fixed they want to charge you again to have someone look at it. We did this twice and the equipment never worked longer than 2 months. At the end of the contract we switched to another company and they still charged us fees. Terrible customer service. They don't care. Stay away.

      ADT Security has completely mishandled my account and I believe their practices are deceptive and unfair. I was overcharged for equipment that I never received and for installation services that were never completed. Parts of the equipment that did arrive were never installed.I have text messages from the installer confirming he would return to complete the job, but he never showed up and completely stopped responding. After reporting this, ADT scheduled another appointment, which also never ************, ADT is attempting to charge me over $5,000 in cancellation fees, equipment costs, and installation fees, even though the equipment was never delivered or installed properly. **************** has been unhelpful and extremely rude. They refuse to waive charges for equipment and installation that never occurred.This has been an extremely frustrating experience. I strongly advise others not to use ADT.

      Called 07/25/2025 and spoke with a sales tech for a quote for a new home security system. Spent 24 minutes on the phone with her going over the quote and confirming numerous times the price she quoted me was the FINAL price and not subject to change, to which she confirmed multiple times. The technician came out the very next morning and went over the same equipment I discussed with the sales tech and advised the price was $2,000 higher than what the sales tech quoted for the exact same equipment. Their sales team is pulling the "bait and switch" method.

      Do not use these people, they installed old batteries,old equipment that doesn't record, door **** doesn't work, room sensor got alert , can't fix it. They recommend I buy new sensor. Only had equipment 5 weeks. They only warranty 3 days. Said I have buy more equipment and pay $99 have tech come look at new equipment I paid $2046.00. Also goggle 7" Screen goes off line. Had shooting outside 7 feet from camera, never recorded any thing. Got run around when calling said outside business hours. They r willing sell u more equipment but won't fix what u already paid for. I have been on phone for 6 weeks now, no help. One lady had me take apart door bell camera, I asked her why there r sparks coming from it. She asked if I turned off electricity first. What the heckl! I WAS FOLLOWING HER INSTRUCTIONS TO GET CAMERA TO WORK. Never told me turn off circuit breaker. Now that thing doesn't ring or record. They want me take apart all equipment, clean with alcohol, reboot, reset, etc. Still not recording people coming or going. Installed $300 lock They told me buy , which was installed by their tech, doesn't lock remotely like promises, you have lock yrself. Sunny day you can't read screen to punch in code. U have squat down, cover box with something u hopefully have so u can read screen. I put a thick towel by door to read screen. CaN we say absolutely ******* percent no customer service, no quality equipment, no pride in their company, just don't care about customer----They just want your $$$$ be ware, awful business, DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN.

      I’m writing to express my disappointment with the service I’ve received:
      1. Purchase & Installation Issues
      • I subscribed to ADT home security and purchased a Yale smart lock to integrate with the ADT system.
      • After installation, the Yale lock could not be controlled via the ADT app.
      2. Technician Visit
      • I scheduled a technician appointment. The technician explained the lock’s distance from the ADT panel was the issue and recommended adding a signal repeater.
      • I declined that solution and asked him to uninstall the Yale lock and reinstall my original lock. He refused and told me to schedule a separate removal appointment.
      3. Broken Promises & Poor Follow-Up
      • I called ADT to arrange lock removal and a full refund. I was promised a callback within three business days—none arrived.
      • After chasing again, an online specialist told me refunds weren’t possible, only replacement locks. I waited on hold for an hour, spoke with billing, and received the same answer.
      4. Unacceptable Resolution
      • Replacing the Yale lock will not solve the underlying compatibility issue. I feel I’m being offered an inadequate fix rather than the refund I requested.
      Because this product does not function as advertised and ADT’s service has been repeatedly unresponsive and contradictory, I will no longer use ADT. Please process my refund and arrange for removal of the Yale lock without further delay.
      Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to resolution by “July 31, 2025”.

      If you ever decide you no longer want their service GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! They have put $3000 with a collection agency when I canceled service. They will not pick up their equipment, they'll just ruin your credit! I wish I had never gone this route. It was also hard to talk to a real person once the installation was over.
