    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This is the absolute worst experience I have had EVER We arrived to our condo and it was UNDER CONSTRUCTION. There was scaffolding all over the unit and surrounding units. You had to walk under scaffolding to get into the unit. All of the patio furniture was dumped in a pile due to the construction work. It was not livable. When I contacted Amelia Island Vacations we had to wait over THREE HOURS for help and the options were absolutely ridiculous - We could stay at the under construction unit. We could move off of the Amelia Island Plantation (my son is autistic and has only vacationed at the Plantation. We have not gone anywhere else and he looks forward to it all year) Staying off of the plantation was not an option. They did put us in a dark and dingy unit but said that we would have to leave after one week (we had a two week vacation and had worked the dates out with work, etc) or we would have to move to two separate united during the second week of our vacation. Amelia Island Vacations did not return calls when they said they would. I went online and found a wonderful company called Amelia Luxury Vacations and they bent over backwards to find a place for us and save our vacation. I will let everyone I know NOT to use Amelia Island Vacations and VERBO should have no association at all with such an unprofessional and chaotic rental agency. It makes me question how ***** vets the companies with which they do business. ***** should cut all ties with such a horrible agency

    Amelia Island Vacations is a property management company. My complaint is that they do not properly inspect the properties with respect to basic maintenance and appearance prior to a rental. I filed a pretty scathing review of a property that I rented (******************************) on their company web site and waited until a week after leaving the premises on 11-08-2023 to contact them for a follow up, as I had not heard from them. I spoke with their rental manager *****************************. She had not read the review, but looked at it while we were on the telephone. ******* told me that she would look into the situation and call me back the following day, which did not happen. I have left several voice mails in their general delivery mailbox and have spoken with ****** on two occasions, but still have not received a call back. Initially I only wanted an apology for the poor condition of the property but have become so disgusted by their lack of communication that I asked ****** for a partial refund of my rental fee during our last conversation. You can ask them to forward to you my review for a complete understanding of the issues, as it is not posted on their web site. Their maintenance ***** came out on two different occasions, but only replaced the air filter and provided ice trays. Issues include: (1) change filter light was lit on the a/c control (2) icemaker did not work (3) dryer was broken (4) smoke detectors were chirping (5) upstairs light switch for the two downstairs carport lights did not work (only one light even worked) (6) no other downstairs lights (had to use a flashlight when grilling) (7) on the refrigerator door 2 0f 3 shelves were missing (8) light for the stove hood was out (8) construction debris was strewn about - two bags of hardened cement were left on either side of the carport and in the yard between the back deck and the sand dunes were scattered pieces of cut trex, lumber, pvc pipe, a couple of garden hoses, old grill grates and burners.
