I purchased tickets to an event the occurs in July. The website said it is a general admission event. The event is assigned seating. I bought two concert tickets and was charged $200 more than advertised. Then, no tickets were provided. A "customer service" agent called to try to get me to accept inferior tickets. On 4/8/2025, our customer placed an order for two tickets to Alison Krauss and Union Station at Redding Civic Auditorium in Redding, CA on 7/19/2025. Shortly after, our customer was contacted in regards to replacement tickets in a comparable section to what our customer originally purchased. On 4/10/2025, our customer's order was confirmed with the agreed upon tickets. They reached out shortly after requesting cancellation, but was unable to do so per our terms. During the checkout process, our customer agreed to the terms of service, which state the following:
The purchase of tickets is at the full discretion of the Buyer, and all sales are final. ?Ticket prices on the Services are set by the owners of ticket(s) ("Seller"). As a result, the ticket prices listed may be substantially higher (or in some cases lower) than the original face value printed on the ticket. All sales are final even though ticket prices for live events continue to fluctuate on the open market. It is possible that prices of similar seats will change over time; if the prices of similar tickets increase prior to the event, you will not be charged more. Conversely, if the price of similar tickets decreases prior to the event, no credits, refunds or upgrades will be given. GoTickets will never charge more than what you have authorized. ensure we are addressing all inquiries. GoTickets will never charge more than what you have
authorized. Due to the unique nature of tickets, they can't be replaced, hence

expressly set forth herein or as required by applicable law.Our customer’s order was confirmed only after they agreed to
a replacement offer, a unique situation in which 2 customers placed an order
for the same tickets at the same exact time. We understand the customer was
upset due to the amount of time that had passed and the replacement offer
differed from their original order – at the time, the best and most comparable
tickets on the market to their original location choice. Later, they contacted
our support team again and stated they changed their decision on the
replacement offer and wanted to cancel the order. Thus, our all sales are final
policy applied – as outlined in our customer’s complaint as discussed at
length. Regardless, their order has been taken care of in the desired

Tickets.com lies on their website stating that they are selling available tickets when the tickets weren’t even available for sale yet. I purchased two tickets for a local nonprofit theater which has no affiliation with gotickets but somehow gotickets was selling tickets to a show that wasn’t even for sale yet, they state that they guarantee the authenticity of the ticket but then later they say elsewhere that they are not liable if the tickets are fake. This is a scam and completely unethical. I paid almost $300 more than if I were buying it from the seller who they claim they were selling on behalf of. They also claimed that only 1% of tickets remained which is a lie since they weren’t even on sale yet. I want a refund and to cancel my order. Also I purchased tickets and did not even receive any yet. Says on the terms and conditions that only registered users who give them their legal name, address, phone and email and are 18 y/o and have a valid debit or credit card are eligible to buy tickets, but they never asked for registration or my address. Therefore I was never technically eligible to purchase the tickets and they should be canceled and refunded.Business Response

On 3/29/2025, our customer purchased two tickets for Legally Blonde at Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, SC on 5/1/2025. Their order was confirmed immediately and a detailed order summary was emailed to them shortly after; on 3/30/2025, tickets were promptly sent to our customer.
Our customer appears concerned about the variation in ticket price between GoTickets and the official site of the Dock Street Theatre. The variation in price can often be attributed to the difference between the ticket's "Face Value" and its "Market Value." The Face Value represents the original price set by the event organizer, while the Market Value is determined by independent resellers who take into account various factors such as demand, seat location, and availability. This means that the ticket price can be either higher or lower than the Face Value. As such, at the top of every ticket listing, we clearly state, "Secure resale marketplace. Ticket prices may be above or below face value."
Registered Users who want to buy tickets ("Buyers") may search for events and view ticket listings.?To order tickets, a Buyer first browse GoTickets’ listings for tickets. When the Buyer finds desirable tickets,?the Buyer places an order to purchase the ticket(s). Many of our professional resellers own season tickets for various teams or venues or have direct partnerships with venues and promoters. As such, they are able to provide presale tickets or ticket to sold-out events."
Additionally, our customer is concerned with the delivery of their tickets, though the tickets' in hand date of 4/29/2025 was relayed to our customer both at checkout and after their order was confirmed. I have spoken with the box office for the dock street theater and they have confirmed that these tickets they (gotickets) are “reselling” are not legitimate tickets and are not accepted by the theater. They do not have a relationship or affiliation with any resellers and do not accept their fraudulent tickets. They have had to deal with this many times they said when people who have been duped show up with their tickets purchased by resellers and it isn’t a valid ticket and they are unable to attend the show. Again the merchant said that the tickets are invalid and will not be accepted.

inventory nor did GoTickets purchase tickets from this venue on behalf of the
customer. The valid and authentic tickets purchased by our customer were
delivered by the seller (owner) of the tickets for our customer's order on 3/30/2025,
1 day after their purchase.
We stand behind every ticket sold on our platform. Every
ticket listed on GoTickets is authentic and verified. Our customer successfully
received the tickets prior to their event, and their event has since passed. If

Dear Better Business Bureau,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against GoTickets for an issue I encountered with an unintended ticket purchase.
On [insert date], while comparing ticket prices on various websites, I encountered a glitch on my phone. Due to this glitch, a ticket was purchased automatically with all my information filled in. I immediately contacted GoTickets within 30 seconds of the purchase via email and their chat service, informing them of the glitch and requesting a cancellation of the transaction. Despite my efforts and the fact that the purchase was clearly unintentional, GoTickets refused to cancel the transaction, stating that all sales are final.
I have not received the tickets and believe this transaction was not intentional. Additionally, I have found that the prices on GoTickets are significantly higher than those on other websites, which raises concerns about their business practices.

I received an email March 3, 2025, stating I purchased tickets for a concert from gotickets.com $133.79 I contacted them and my financial institution to inform them that I didn't purchase tickets. I received an email March 10, 2025, that they processed a refund for the unauthorized purchase. We contacted the company on two occasions to inform them I never received the refund. The second attempt to resolve the issue my financial institution (Citi Bank) was on the phone as well asking them to provide a transaction ID or any proof of the refund being processed the refused. The customer service rep stated, " that department is only telling them the refund was processed". I wanted to order concert tickets to Allison Kraus at the Starlight theater in Kansas City for our 50th anniversary, I have never ordered tickets so I googled the concert and GoTickets came up. I chose 2 very good tickets near the front for $129.50 each and received confirmation and total of $437.61. I thought thought that was very high but figured there were fees. Right away at 10:05 am I got a ticket order email with the amount but no itemized invoice, just the total, then at 11:10 got email "Your tickets sold, there is still time to secure your tickets, don't miss out.." Called chat and gave order number, told there was no order with that number. Called the company, also told no order with that number, chat again, same thing 3 more times. emailed to ask, was sent my order but tickets are terrible, second to the last row, usual price of $39.50 each. Asked for itemized invoice but did not get one. I demanded money back, told no and I should resell tickets. But I will not get them via email until the day before the concert, we will be gone to Kansas City by then to attend so how can I sell them? Also they took the money from my VISA immediately. Visa can't help. Is it legal? they have my money, led me to believe I had no tickets, I have no product yet and will get too late to use, never could get itemized invoice, just a total. $437.61 for 2 $39.50 tickets. and not the tickets I ordered. In one email they " apologize especially that you received incorrect tickets" so they admitted but refused to help. At son's suggestion I went to the venue website and got 2 tickets almost as good as I originally wanted for $59.50 each, no added fees and the tickets were in my email immediately. I ordered tickets on 3/25, that as per the band's website were only supposed to be available via presale. Gotickets did not require a presale code, which was already misleading. Additonally, they charged double what other big ticket retailers were charging for the same tickets, only for me to find out after the fact. I both called and emailed after I figured this out, however all I got was an automated email response that didn't address my concerns, and couldn't reach anyone via their phone number. I finally reached someone two days later, however they told me there was nothing I could do and told me to sell the tickets on lysted. When I finally accessed my tickets via the email they sent me, which in it said that I should be able to download them to my apple wallet, there was no option to transfer them anywhere. I called back again, and they said the only option would be for me to use my personal email to send the buyer the email I recieved or a link to the tickets. Overall, they have been misleading, hard to reach, and refuse to do anything to remedy the multiple issues I have except tell me that "all sales are final", and tell me to put up the tickets on a separate site.Business Response

It was relayed to them that the variation in price can often be attributed to the difference between the ticket's "Face Value" and its "Market Value." The Face Value represents the original price set by the event organizer, while the Market Value is determined by independent resellers who take into account various factors such as demand, seat location, and availability. Their response relies on generic statements about their policies without directly addressing the deceptive nature of my experience. My key reasons for rejecting their response are as follows:1. Deceptive Pricing and Lack of TransparencyGoTickets claims that their ticket prices fluctuate due to "market value," but this explanation ignores the fact that:Primary ticket sellers were still offering better seats for significantly less money at the same time I purchased mine. Their argument that resellers factor in demand and availability does not justify a price that was nearly double what reputable retailers were charging at the same moment. In the images I have attached you will note that the ticketmaster seats in the same section, and in a better row, were approximately $56, while I payed $112 for seats in the same section but further back. GoTickets failed to disclose this massive markup at checkout. Many ethical resale platforms at least provide a warning that tickets may be sold above face value, which GoTickets did not. Consumers have the right to make informed purchasing decisions, and their lack of transparency directly led to my overpayment. 2. Misleading Presale Ticket AvailabilityGoTickets claims that their resellers have access to presale tickets due to season ticket ownership or partnerships with venues and promoters. However, that does not change the fact that these tickets were advertised as presale tickets but did not require a presale code, which directly contradicts how presale access works. If these sellers had truly obtained the tickets through official presale access, they would have had to comply with presale restrictions, including the required code. By listing these tickets as available during a presale period without requiring the necessary presale code, GoTickets created the false impression that their platform had exclusive access to tickets when, in reality, they were reselling them at a significant markup. This practice is misleading and exploits customer confusion. If their resellers do have access to presale tickets due to these partnerships, there should, once again, be some sort of disclosure. 3. Failure to Take Responsibility for Customer IssuesWhen I reached out to GoTickets after realizing the price discrepancy and issues with ticket transfer, they told me there was "nothing they could do" and that I should try reselling the tickets on a separate platform. This response is completely inadequate. A business should take responsibility for misleading sales practices, not shift the burden onto the customer to fix the problem themselves. I attempted to cancel my order by calling the company within minutes of purchasing and their answer was to sell the tickets myself. I don't know how I can do that when the ticket won't have my name or what the seating actually is. The credit card company declined my dispute (but I am sending them a printout of all the BBB complaints you are reading in this thread now as a continuation of the dispute as evidence that I am not alone and there is a definite pattern here).
As a resolution, I am demanding a full refund of my purchase price as I am not downloading the supposed tickets from the link you have sent as I have no idea they are actual tickets to anything despite your "100% guarantee" (which others here have stated is useless) and your site was selling seats/tickets behind the stage which were not actually available for purchase. The first thing Ticketmaster notifies customers about when accessing their site is that the customer may pay higher than face value prices. You actually have to click through the notice to access their site. Gotickets is the polar opposite. The consumer doesn't get that info until AFTER the non-refundable purchase. If I receive your standard reply (which essentially states - go pound sand), I will pursue this through my states consumer affairs office and local TV media. All they will need to do is access your site via search engine to know the truth.Business Response

Our customer placed their order on 1/24/2025 for What the World Needs Now - The Bacharach Songbook Live at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ on 3/26/2025. Their order was immediately confirmed, and the customer was sent printable tickets moments later. We can confirm our customer reached out on 1/24/2025 to request a cancellation, to which we explained the nature of our business and the secondary market.
Our customer appears concerned about the variation in ticket price between GoTickets and the official site of the Celebrity Theatre. The variation in price can often be attributed to the difference between the ticket's "Face Value" and its "Market Value." The Face Value represents the original price set by the event organizer, while the Market Value is determined by independent resellers who take into account various factors such as demand, seat location, and availability. This means that the ticket price can be either higher or lower than the Face Value. As such, at the top of every ticket listing, we clearly state, "Secure resale marketplace. Ticket prices may be above or below face value."
In regard to our customer's concern with their name not being on their tickets, we would like to note that the name on the tickets is that of the original purchaser and holds no bearing over the tickets' authenticity. We regret that they refused to download the tickets emailed to them, however, our records indicate they were sent the correct and valid tickets prior to their event that took place on 3/26/2025.
Registered Users who want to buy tickets ("Buyers") may search for events and view ticket listings.?To order tickets, a Buyer first browse GoTickets’ listings for tickets. When the Buyer finds desirable tickets,?the Buyer places an order to purchase the ticket(s). When an order is placed, Sellers receive notification of an order and confirm delivery.?All orders are final and, once placed, cannot be cancelled or retracted. ?The purchase of tickets is at the full discretion of the Buyer, and all sales are final. It is possible that prices of similar seats will change over time; if the prices of similar tickets increase prior to the event, you will not be charged more. Conversely, if the price of similar tickets decreases prior to the event, no credits, refunds or upgrades will be given. GoTickets will never charge more than what you have authorized. Due to the unique nature of tickets, they can't be replaced, hence there are no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations, except as expressly set forth herein or as required by applicable law.?
We would like to note that prior to receiving this claim, our customer filed a dispute with their financial institution. If our customer has any additional concerns regarding their order, we encourage them to contact our support team.
