I signed up for dating service Silver Singles (part of Spark Networks) on November 6, 2023, purchased a premium 6 months subscription. During my month on the dating site I was contacted multiple times by scammers, there are more fake profiles there than real people. Customer service would send me security alerts but only after I already communicated with these people and blocked them. Unfortunately, their profiles come up again and again under different names, and they keep sending you all kinds of messages. I felt very unsafe.
Silver Singles does not have member protections in place, profiles are not verified, abd catfishers are allowed to roam free.
I contacted customer service requesting to delete my profile and to issue a refund, since the service promised has not been delivered. They refused, siting their 3-day look-see policy. However, in 3 days you can't really orient yourself on the site and understand the dangers it's posing.
I paid $179.70 for being harassed by scammers and being ignored by customer service. Would like to get the money back.Business Response

They are not in communication with me. Their last excuse was that it is not technically possible for them to give me a refund since payment was made through PayPal. To which I replied that I am very familiar with the way PayPal works - returns and cancellations are processed by vendors through PayPal, and my credit card gets credited shortly after that. I did contact PayPal to file a dispute. Playing Catch-22 here - PayPal forwarded my concern to Business, and of course the Business is not responding.

I joined Silver Singles in October of 2023. For the first 2 weeks, they sent viable matches. After that, the majority of the matches sent were people with no photos and limited or no information on their profiles. The terms of the agreement say that once you delete a profile match, it's gone forever, however, they recycle matches on a regular basis. I emailed them twice asking for a refund., once on 11/5/23 and again on 11/19/2023. I requested a refund in both emails citing the information above. The solution was to not automatically renew my subscription in April of 2024. This site is a rip off preying on people over the age of 50. I would like a refund of my $179.00.

On 10.21.23, I paid for a very pricey six-month subscription and after not being able to login to my account for 12+ hours yesterday, I put in a customer service ticket through the app and received an email this morning informing me that my profile had "inconsistencies" and was blocked. The email instructed me to provide a copy of my license or passport. I sent a photo of my passport more than 8 hours ago, have heard nothing back and my account is still offline. Outrageous, as if there is a mechanism to take an account offline so quickly, there should also be a mechanism, once proof of authenticity is provided, to get it back online just as quickly. Also, doing this to my account flags me as "under investigation" to anyone I might have been in contact with, so how do I get my reputation back? The answer is that I don't and that's just another loss (in addition to $226) I'll have to take. At this point, I just want to get the account reactivated so I can cancel the subscription and remove my profile completely. They should be vetting users at registration instead of taking legitimate people's money and then messing with their profiles.Business Response

I sent them a notice that this was a scam because I was not able to communicate with anyone on the website even though I have payed 50 dollars. During the month of July, my subscription with Christian Mingle was compromised and for unknown reasons, I no longer received the premium plan I paid and contracted for. Despite numerous emails, attempted calls (impossible to talk person, and customer service number is constantly out of order) and efforts, they repeatedly said (via default massaging) the problem is with my phone. There has never been a different or follow up message or response.I had my phone (only 2years old) checked by a Verizon professional, confirming my phone is in perfect working order, compatible, and the problem is on Christian Mingle’s end. When I log in, the website message automatically/constantly prompts me to upgrade my subscription to a premium plan in order to communicate, which is a fallacy and incorrect!My latest correspondence with them relating this has gone unanswered.Christian Mingle has made it impossible for me to resolve this issue with them on my own. I am extremely frustrated, as I have paid for a 6 month subscription that I am only receiving 3 months of benefit. Not only is it impossible to speak with a CM representative or technician, I cannot communicate with anyone on the website, which was the reason why I subscribed in the first place! They informed her I was a dangerous person as well as other women in zoosk who which is slander defamation of character. They claim they received multiple complains that is a lie. Please provide screenshots proof of your terms complaint violations citing specific examples? I want one free moment zoosk membership plus 1 free monthly standard reply free feature and the complete removal ban of my from zoosk sparks networks. Your company loved abd targeted me as a male. You locked me off because one personal allegedly complained. At no time did I harass or violate zoosk/sparks terms at all. This is a lie. Provide proof of all violation? All our members must abide by our rules of conduct. When members are repeatedly reported for their behavior, we are sometimes forced to close accounts.
If Zoosk members feel that we have wrongly deleted them, we are always willing to reconsider our decision. We did this as well with this member, but unfortunately came to the conclusion that we will not let him back on our website. To protect the privacy of reporting members, we cannot give further details. We again informed our user about this in a direct email.
