1 starThey fraudulently took money from my HSA account that I did not approve. Several thousand dollars. They will not allow me to speak to a manager and continually hang up on me each time I call. This whole business is a scam. I'm filing a report with my HSA company. Horrible to treat people who are paying for mental health help like this.Review fromDelilah H

1 starI signed up for medication and therapy plan cost for the first month which was charged upfront came to $149. I thought it was a great deal. I scheduled my first appointment and after waiting 10 minutes the therapist never showed! I thought life happens must of been an emergency no big deal so as per instruction I contacted the support team to reschedule my appointment 2 hours before the appointment which was 5 days later mind you. She canceled it! At that point I was disappointed and contacted my support team for a refund and cancel my membership, I signed up on other platform. They are only refunding half of my money! When I asked why I'm only getting half of my funds back for only being a member for a week and never having been seen. They responded with this,

Hi *******,
Thank you for keeping in touch.
We're happy to help in any way we can, but we're limited in our ability to deviate from our billing policy. Understandably, this may be disappointing but I hope you understand.
I will be calling today and hopefully they will fix this! Horrible business practices wouldn't recommend working with them at all!Review fromRichard H

1 starWas told they treated adhd during sign up only to find they could not renew my prescription because it was a controlled substance. This is fine, but all of their advertising material and prompts during sign up lead me to believe they could and it wasn't until I paid and met with a care provider that I was told otherwise. Then they refused to refund my 40 dollars after telling me they couldn't help.Review fromMeaghan M

1 starI have used Cerebral for the past 11 months because I wanted to go on medication for my mental health. Unfortunately, my prescriber moved to another part of the company and I was assigned a new prescriber. The new prescriber only refilled one out of two of my medications, leaving me with NONE of one of my medications, lamotrigine. You are NOT supposed to go off of lamotrigine cold turkey like that. You have to wean off. Unfortunately, I don't get that option. My pharmacy can only give me a 3-day emergency supply but I'm on a 150mg dose and I should have been weaned off of it over 4-6 weeks if my new prescriber didn't want me on it. This wasn't even discussed with me either, it was just removed from my prescriptions list. I am incredibly frustrated as I have sent many messages to my "care team" to which I got no response or acknowledgement. I have sent two emails to the main support team which received no response or acknowledgment. Then I finally called and got a support rep who told me they "received my request." I don't care if they received my request because it shouldn't take four days for any of the people on my "care team" to respond to a request. This is dangerous to my physical and mental health and Cerebral needs to be reported because this is NOT safe.Review fromLydia C

1 starThey provide misleading information to encourage new users to sign up, only to completely change their offerings once you pay your registration costs. I was made to believe there were numerous therapists available immediately so I signed up and paid the initial fee, however once I entered my insurance information there were conveniently only two providers in my area, neither of which had availability. Of course you aren't allowed to narrow down by your insurance provider until after you pay. Because the providers who took my insurance weren't available, my account was stuck in "onboarding" and I literally could not access anything, not even to cancel my subscription. I eventually got ahold of someone at customer service who explicitly stated that they do not agree with the way Cerebral does business, and they provided me a full refund. Do not recommend.Review fromDana B

1 starIf I could leave zero stars I would. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for years. I thought I would give this a try since nothing else has worked. While my therapist was nice enough, just a few weeks after starting she moved and never came back to sessions leaving me there with no one. I cancelled my membership shortly after. That was in July. I paid my monthly fees and my insurance was approved prior to starting. Now 8 months after my cancellation they started drafting money from my bank account claiming I owe money that the insurance didnt pay. At no point did anyone reach out to ** and tell ** there were things the insurance was not covering, they just drafted from my bank on their own. I have never in my life had a CANCELLED membership continue taking my money without permission. Most normal companies send you a final bill within 30 days to close your account. I have been fighting with them for days now to get my money back and an explanation of what they say I owe but they keep giving me the run around and wont take anything seriouslyReview fromKirk A

1 starDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME! Signed up for the membership! There was a typo in my email when signing up, and I paid the initial $30. Well in the fine print, apparently if you don't log in, which I couldn't do due to my typo in my email, they will automatically set an appointment for you, and charge you $99 for session you never set or requested. When asking for a refund, the woman on the phone said they cannot refund the money due to putting together a "care team" for you. A team that has given little "care" to taking care of their clients, and more to taking their money. They will charge you money for supplying NO service. You would think given that it is a service for one's mental health they wouldn't take advantage of people and abuse this aspect by being sneaky and charge for a service they didn't even to provide. This company isn't interested in helping people's mental health, their concern is taking advantage and using that to take care of their companies financial health.Review fromEleanor G

1 starA horrible "mental health" company that's full of lies. ***** *** needs to stop embarrassing himself. He's always doing press releases and interviews trying to act like Cerebral is doing God's work. Tell the people the truth *****! Tell them about how you and the rest of executive level management chose to take advantage of the loosening of the laws surrounding controlled substances during the pandemic to line your pockets and take advantage of vulnerable people. Tell them about how you all decided to throw **** under the bus when everybody was in on the scam too. Tell them about how Cerebral's clientele went down once the *** cracked down on the overprescribing of controlled substances and the pre COVID laws regulating controlled substances we nt back into affect. Tell them about how you have people out here leaving fake positive reviews about Cerebral to drown out the negative ones. Tell them about how you laid people off on their mental health days and when they were on PTO. Tell them about how a minor was illegally treated by Cerebral which led to fatal consequences (and you're still lying about it). Stop being a coward, you know the truth. Put your pride aside and let everyone else know it too.Review fromNate J

1 starThere's an old saying "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". Time and time again this company has let down their employees and their clients. The first time it was credited to them being a new start up but after this time, that reason just doesn't hold its weight. At some point you gotta call a spade a spade. For further regard, please read this company's reviews over the years until now on BBB (Better Business Bureau). ****** "Cerebral New ************ "Cerebral Investigation", and "Behavioral Health Business Cerebral *********** Model Again" as well to better understand how this company has treated clients and staff over the years.
I know this job seems most convenient because of the flexibility, working from home, and seeming scarcity of mental health companies willing to accept individuals with your credentials. However, this company is NOT what it seems and they will leave you highly disappointed and in a worse mental state than when you first joined.
They are very talented at using language to make you believe something that isn't quite there or isn't quite true. So PLEASE be aware. If you can, hold off just a little bit longer to find a job that will value and prioritize you. The mental health field is ever-expanding and you can land at a place better than this. Continue to have faith and believe in yourself, you can do it, and you matter!Review fromFredrick S

1 starStong Caution Against Using Cerebral!!! Cerebral was to provide counseling services. Initial debits of $30 and $174 was performed. In this time, one 30-minute discussion was had with a "case manager", and another 30-minute discussion was had with a "care counselor". These charges are deemed to be acceptable (marginally). Counseling was to continue with another "care counselor". However, the "care counselor" the appointments, so counseling did not take place. Rescheduling with the "care counselor" was unsuccessful. During this time, Cerebral charged an additional $259. Since there was no service, this charge is not deemed acceptable. Cerebral acknowledged that the sequence of events was poor and refunded $64.75 after verbally "suggesting" that $259 would be refunded.
