      I called Hartford today from a doctors office re a mutual patient whos benefits were cancelled because Hartford states they were missing a(one) page.. The Person on the phone who called herself "Jen, short for Jennifer"was extremely rude, she was constantly interrupting me by saying my name over and over with a raised voice. All I wanted was disability forms faxed to us,so we can fill them out again since we have not received any at our office,and the ones the patient gave us, which were mailed to him by Hartford,were incomplete... Immediately "Jen" was very defensive and rude and would not allow me to finish a sentence and was telling me how i was not nice.. All this arguing just for the lady to then ask what fax # she could fax the forms to..this was all I asked for at the beginning of our call, but instead of just offering to fax the forms, she chose to argue and disrespect me instead. This patient in unable to even walk at this time, has had multiple surgeries for the injuries he sustained, with more surgeries in the future, and Hartford cancelled his benefits due to one page missing. Our office has not received one phone call,not one fax regarding this patient, telling us what they are missing, or that the patients benefits are going to be cancelled, they just cancelled them. To cancel a person's benefits due to one page missing, is totally unacceptable. Especially when this company did not even try to reach out to our office. And to place blame on the patient, who is disabled, or the doctor's office, who never received anything from Hartford, is very sad. Shame on you Hartford.

      The Hartford company sent me a letter to contact them for free Auto Insurance quote and save money, It also attached a flyer stating even if quote is not accepted by me, they will send me free Weekender Duffel Bag. I did call them but their quote had not suited me. So, I asked them to send me free Duffel Bag. But even after one month, I have not received the free Duffel Bag. Untrue publicity!

      The HARTFORD via AAA Auto Insurance.I just noticed that I had an extra driver on my policy that I have no knowledge where they came from. I had my policy with THE HARTFORD since August of 2019 and that's how long I've been paying this extra "ghost" driver. I called them and asked them where did that driver come from, the young lady stated that I was sent a letter in August of 2019 to confirm if that driver was legit. Why would a company add a driver without my consent or permission? Is it a scam? I paid for an extra driver for 4 years. I just now noticed that on my policy there was an extra name I was unfamiliar with. Once I called and spoke with "******" an agent, he said he would take the driver off of the policy but when asked about retro payment on the "ghost" driver that I didn't approve his demeanor changed, I asked why and how the person's name came on to my policy they said when they pulled a DMV report this persons name showed being at my address ? How does that happen? I didn't approve of it. Needless to say "******" was uncooperative and didn't supply me with Corporate number. He told me to go to DMV and pull a report, I said the is not my responsibility I said I shouldn't have to go to DMV, they have it on my profile he said he had no access to it. Said he would transfer me to Supervisor, I said I need a phone number or address. "******" refused and transferred me anyway. I hung up and called again, another young lady answered told her my dilemma and she provided me with Corporate phone number. This will not be the end of it I will make it known to every Review site for THE HARTFORD and also will talk to someone in Corporate to make me "whole". Basically they stole from me, they lost a customer here, ready to move on to another reputable company. Stay AWAY

      I have been ran through the ringer so to speak with this company. I was injured at my workplace 3 months ago and per workplace procedure attempted workers comp which was denied. Then went to the Hartford to try to claim my short term disability after denial as I was told to do. I have had to submit paperwork for the past 2 months now and upon receiving the paperwork each time, Hartford denies my claim. Correct me if I am wrong, but when a doctor puts you off of work for an undetermined amount of time due to an injury or illness that is considered a short term disability. They claim to have called me and left me voicemails, which I have not received either of which. I have never been able to speak to my adjuster or analyst as of yet. I have to call them each time I see on on the site that a claim is denied. Even then all they say is, the claim was denied due to it being a work related injury. They asked me to give them the workers comp denial, I did. They asked for all doctors statements, they got them. Do i need to give them my blood and soul in order to get the compensation I pay for? Come on, this is stressful enough, thanks to Hartford it is even more stressful!

      Joined **** because I thought I'd get a better auto insurance. My first complaint is their online quote, it quotes a 6 months policy and give you a monthly payment amount, then when you click "BUY" the 6 month payment amount defaults to a 5 months payments. Why advertise a 6 month policy when in reality it's 5 months. Then I noticed a box that said something like " We cannot cover this vehicle for" (a long list of items). then they go on to say, If you are leasing or financing your vehicle check with your financial institute for coverage options. The bottom line is Hartford will not cover ******* ******* vehicles. I called to ask why and I was told, "It's all over the internet that ******* *******'s are easy to steal". Vehicles of all makes and models are stolen everyday. I could not believe what I was hearing, I just hung up in the guys face. I guess joining AARP was not any better that my current policy, I should have kept my $12.99 payment. It's not the fact that ******i vehicles are prey to thief's, after reading many negative reviews and complaints, I believe its Hartford, they don't want to pay claims; and to think AARP represents Hartford as their so-called auto policy for it's members. Stay away from Hartford rather you drive a ******* ******* or not. There should be a flashing message on their website when you request a quote that reads, "SORRY WE DO NOT COVER ******* ******* **********

      My husband became disabled after 3 month hospitalizations. He was approved for long term disability from Hartford and they payed at the start and now for the last 4 months they haven’t paid him anything and just give us the run around. Can not get in touch with his claim representative or anyone else at Hartford. They said they received all the documents and questionnaire they needed to process. But still can’t get in touch with them. Online or by phone we have not received a payment for 4 months.

      The Hartford does not pay claims. They only accept your premium payments. I have been on an approved medical leave from my job that I’ve worked close to 9 years. To be frank I had a work related breakdown, but The Hartford has found every excuse not to pay me my benefits that are owed to me. It’s one thing after the next. The latest reason is “Not enough information” from my previous medical records, but they didn’t even attempt to reach out to my healthcare provider who is currently treating me for my current health crisis. It is so sad to have to sue an insurance company when they should be paying especially when the employer has approved the employee the leave. It is my opinion The Hartford would prefer for someone to blow their brains out! I hate this company, and I hope they are shut down. They are a complete scam. The reviews under google are a complete lie! Just look at all the one stars beneath my review. I’d give them a negative 100 if I could. They need to be stopped. American as a whole is areal **** hole!

      I only gave 1 star because you can't leave a complaint without a star marked !!!!!
      We have had Home Insurance through AARP with the Hartford for almost 10 years with no claim.
      We had a storm come through on March 3 2023. It is now almost July. We thought we had a $1000.00 deductible. When all is said and done we will minimally pay $2470.00. This is because the damage was caused by wind and hail????? We will also have a roof on our house and garage that will look like patch work. Don't understand why The Hartford does not take care of the customers!!!!!!!

      An absolutely horrible horrible insurance company. They accept and admit to making multiple mistakes on a policy, create a massive mess of updates and errors, and their response is simply 'I'm sorry', or 'we understand, sorry' . Sorry is right, a very sorry company that considers very little of the customers time, anguish, and inconvenience caused by their admitted mistakes... BE VERY WARY OF THE HARTFORD..and I am sad AARP attaches thier reputation to this company.

      Online my policy says that this payment method is linked to my auto pay settings on my policy. But they didn’t run the payment so my policy was cancelled. I tried to pay it after they cancelled it and they refused. For a company that works with the AARP they are not helping seniors at all. DO NOT GO WITH THE HARTFORD
