I first tried cashing out a few weeks ago and never my money. I tried again a few days ago and experienced the same issue. I reached out to support and nobody responded. Upon reading the App Store reviews and Reddit posts, this seems to be a very common issue lately for the app.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.
Makeena is a free rewards app we do not charge users, and there is no purchase or billing relationship between the complainant and Makeena. The balance in question reflects rewards the complainant earned through app engagement and receipt submissions, not a payment made to us. This is a rewards payout, not a refund.
We've reviewed the account and can confirm the following:
Per our published FAQs (REMOVED), once a user's rewards balance reaches $20, they may request a cash-out via REMOVEDor Venmo. Our policy states that payouts may take up to 30 days to process, as we verify user engagement and activity before releasing funds.
Our records show the complainant's initial cash-out request was submitted on July 25, 2026. The complainant followed up with additional requests on August 10 and 11, 2026, after not yet receiving payout. The rewards payout of $23.10 via REMOVEDwas processed on August 23, 2026 29 days after the original request, within our stated 30-day window.
We recognize that 29 days is at the far end of our processing window, and that the complainant reached out to support during this period without receiving a response. That falls short of the service experience we aim to provide, and we are addressing this internally.
We can confirm the earned rewards balance was paid out in full on August 23, 2026, in accordance with our published policy. We recommend the complainant check the REMOVEDemail/account associated with their Makeena account (including spam/promotions folders) to confirm receipt.
We take these concerns seriously. Waiting close to the full 30 days for a payout, combined with an unanswered support inquiry, is a legitimate frustration, and we are actively working to improve both processing speed and support responsiveness. We consider the rewards payout resolved as of August 23, but remain available to address the support experience directly with the complainant.

I orginally attempted to cashout the full amounr in my account and after I received that, I went back in the app and suddenly had more of a balance? I would like this cashout to me also if possible since I no longer plan on using the app due to how slow the cashout time is and I'm very worried its going to turn into a situation like Shopkick or Mobee where the app suddenly closes down and you're out your money. It is very unfortunate becasue I have been using this app for a very long time, but I do not want to risk that happening to me again, especially since the cashout is at such a high amount and it takes a long time to get there.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the consumer's rebuttal.

We reviewed the consumer's account and confirmed that it reflects a remaining rewards balance of $5.25.

Under Makeena's standard cash-out policy, rewards may be redeemed once an account balance reaches $20. Because the $5.25 balance is below that threshold, it would ordinarily remain in the account until the minimum cash-out amount is reached.
However, we understand that the consumer no longer intends to use the app and asked to receive her remaining balance. As a one-time courtesy, and to fully address her request, Makeena will issue the remaining $5.25 to the REMOVEDaccount associated with her account within 5 business days of this response, notwithstanding the $20 minimum cash-out requirement.

We also understand the consumer's concern based on her experiences with other rewards apps. Makeena continues to operate its app and honor earned rewards in accordance with its policies.

We appreciate that the consumer has been a longtime Makeena user and are happy to accommodate her request. Once the $5.25 payment is issued, there will be no remaining rewards balance in her account.
