I'm baffled by the lack of complaints against Host4Geeks on the BBB, especially considering their disregard for consumer protection laws. On July 19th, 2024, I subscribed to Host4Geeks' services. The signup process failed to mention their port restrictions on what should be a virtual private server (VPS). After activation, I nearly immediately noticed these limitations and contacted support, requesting the ports be opened. They refused, so I immediately requested a cancellation with a full refund.Unfortunately, they informed me that any sort of refund is against their Term of Service (REMOVED). I was not happy to have the REMOVEDshoved in my face when my point I tried to make was the port blockage was NEVER disclosed, this isn't even disclosed in their REMOVED. I only found out after signing up and contacting support. I asked them to proceed with the calculation, but instead my request was forwarded to other departments, only to be told again that they don't give refunds and my request ignored.I decided, since this would be a case covered by consumer protection laws anyway, I would instead initiate a chargeback with my bank. However, while checking their REMOVEDregarding refunds, I learned they also forbid chargebacks for ANY REASON, no matter how legitimate it is, and threaten further action against customers. I tried once more to request they cancel. However, with my busy schedule, I forgot to follow up to make sure they cancelled my service. I was only recently made aware they hadn't done so in a timely manner, and I've been charged five more times.Anyhow, unlike other tech companies I've worked with, I consider their REMOVEDis unusually unfair and unethical. I make this complaint with the BBB hoping for a refund for the service I was unknowingly charged for, and to warn potential customers.
