    Toner Pirates!!On 8/20/2025, someone named ***** called our main number from a blocked number to confirm a toner order that we never placed. They took the full name of the receptionist who answered. Later, we received an invoice with her name as the person who ordered. We record our calls, so I was able to listen to it and the caller (*****) claimed that we would be receiving an order we had previously placed. We have never done business with Advanced Data Solutions previously based on our records so we would not have an automatic order in. This sounds like a scam and/or predatory business practices.

    On 8/25/2025 our office received an unsolicited invoice from Advanced Data Solutions (ADS) for toner we never ordered. Invoice #***** lists TN830XL Brother MFC-L2820DW HY Black Toner Ctg COMP (Qty 1) for $198.00 plus $13.86 shipping/processing, total $211.86. There was no purchase order, no written authorization, no contract, and no shipment received (the invoice Tracking # field is blank).On 9/10/2025, after the mailed invoice arrived, I called ************** and the listed customer-service line **************. The representative was rude and said the authorized staff member from their company named *** ******* was that agent involved. We were told the order had been approved by someone in our staff, our phone logs show no incoming or outgoing communication with ADS or *** ******* prior to 9/10/2025, and in any case no one in our office agreed to or authorized any order.We have no account or contract with ADS. This appears to be a deceptive office-supply/phantom invoice practicebilling for goods not ordered or delivered.Requested resolution:Void Invoice #***** and confirm our balance is $0.00.Close/suppress any account created in our name and place us on permanent Do-Not-Contact (phone, email, mail).Email written confirmation.If ADS claims anything shipped, send a prepaid return label; we will return any unopened item.     We were sent an invoice for a black toner. The invoice says it was ordered by our receptionist, who has no ability to request items or to place orders. Someone called from this company simply to get the name of an individual who works here to make it seem like she had ordered toner. We have never ordered toner from here and had never heard of this company prior to receiving an invoice from them. This order wasn't made by anyone at our company and we would not do business with this company, nor have we ever attempted to order anything from this company

    We received an unsolicited phone call from a company representing themselves as our copier service company. They gave us the model number of our machine and said they were shipping our toner to us. They got the name of the individual who answered the phone. We received the toner and today I received an invoice from Advanced Data Solutions for $532.86 for the toner they shipped to us. Our copier service company sends us toner so the employee who answered the phone had no reason to believe this was a billing scam. I left a message for them to send me a call tag so that I can return their toner.

    An invoice and material came into our facility. The material was not ordered from ************ Solutions our credit card was charged and we need a refund as this is not an order that was approved. A credit card transaction was not authorized. They have called multiple times to tell us that the "summer shipment" is ready to ship of 3 toners. When we declined they said they will call back later this month. We firmly told them we do not do business with them and we will never do business with them, do not ship anything to us.

As a courtesy, we are issuing a full refund for the transaction. The refund is currently being processed and should reflect on the customers original form of payment shortly.
    Return ***************start="848" data-end="851"> We are also issuing a prepaid return shipping label to facilitate the return of the toner shipment. The label will be sent to the customer promptly. Once received, we kindly request the return of the unopened product.
    Order ***********************start="1097" data-end="1100"> Our records show that the customer provided verbal confirmation to proceed with the shipment and associated billing. At no point prior to this complaint did we receive any correspondence from the customer expressing concerns or requesting cancellation of the order.
    Do-Not-Contact *****************start="1397" data-end="1400"> Per the customers request, we have added their business to our internal do-not-contact list and flagged their account to prevent any future communications, shipments, or marketing outreach.

    A representative called claiming a price increase about toner that went unnotified for a price increase and would "lock in" our previous price. This call sounded legitimate and not like most scams leading to a second call from the "shipping department" to confirm this order. After it was accepted by receiving we realized this was a scam as our toner is provided free through another company agreement. There is an invoice indicated on the packing slip that we will not be paying. Should this scam company want their toner back, they can provide a ***** account number for return. I will not be paying any invoices we receive from this company. Any account that was created for us needs to be shut down.

    Vendor Status: ADS is an independent vendor and is not affiliated with any other toner suppliers or service providers. We will continue to clearly communicate this in all future interactions to avoid any confusion.
    Transparency in Communication: We want to clarify that this was not a scam. ADS has strict protocols in place to ensure the utmost transparency in all customer interactions. All pricing and order confirmations are clearly communicated prior to shipment. However, we understand there was confusion in this case, and we respect the customer's position.

I would like it to be noted that their practices are by no means honest and there is almost no way to contact the business directly as both the number and email provided do not garnish a response.     This company reached out saying it was our toner company that we have a contract with. They said we would get another call just to verify authorization and to ***eat exactly what the *** said. The *** continued to lie and say we have always used them. They sent toner and then sent a bill for the toner without ever sending an email confirmation or sending it to a manager within the company for contractual approval. I've been trying to contact the business and there is no answer through phone, email, or website. This is very much a scam that lies and baits companies.

    All communication was handled promptly and professionally, with the customer's request fully addressed without delay. Additionally:

    We respectfully disagree with the claim that this is a scam. Our company follows strict internal procedures to verify and confirm all orders. That said, we took swift action to resolve this situation in good faith the moment we were made aware of the issue.

    I am writing to formally file a complaint against Advanced Data Solutions for engaging in deceptive and predatory business practices.On June 16, 2025, our company received an unsolicited call on our main line from a representative of Advanced Data Solutions. The caller claimed that, due to a failure to notify us of a toner price increase, they were offering a locked-in rate for two years. Relying on this representation, we accepted a shipment of toner under the belief that it was part of our existing subscription service and subject to those terms. It was not.Several weeks later, we received an invoice for $266.43 for a non-name-brand toner cartridgesignificantly higher than the current market rate of $144.89 for genuine HP toner. This appears to be a clear bait-and-switch tactic aimed at misleading small businesses. Such conduct is unacceptable and may constitute a violation of consumer protection laws that prohibit unfair or deceptive trade practices, including the misrepresentation of pricing terms.On July 22, 2025, we received another unsolicited call from the company. Under similarly misleading circumstances, one of our employees was persuaded to agree to the purchase of four additional toner cartridges for $996, plus shipping and handling.We have made multiple attempts to contact Advanced Data Solutions by phone but have only reached voicemail, with no return calls.We are requesting the following actions:- A full refund of the $266.43 already paid - Cancellation and voiding of the $996 invoice for the additional toner cartridges - Immediate cessation of all further contact from Advanced Data Solutions - A prepaid shipping label to return all toner cartridges received at no cost to us We expect a prompt resolution of this matter.

    Like many others have stated, a call was transferred to me where a person was pretending to be our usual toner provider. I am the newest member of the tech group here so I thought it was true. They claimed the price for the toner was going up but we were going to be kept on the usual price for one reason or another. They sent us some toner a few months back and today I have gotten an invoice in my email for what I now know is a grossly inflated price. The toner has not been opened and I am willing to send it back since this was an unsolicited call and I never truly agreed to accepting anything, I was just told it was going to happen.

I will mark this as satisfactory because we were able to come to an agreement, but I don't want anyone to take this as a message of "good customer service".
