On Sept 13, 2023 I made the mistake of calling what I thought was a McAfee customer service line to try and cancel a subscription I did not want. Instead I was told by the person on this line that I could not cancel the subscription alone but could transfer it to a different one through Quikbay (a subsidiary of McAfee). They asked to take remote control of my desktop, and watched me purchase this plan. A charge came through on my account under the name Jinigram instead of quikbay/Mcafee. Once I realized Id fallen for a scam I froze my card, changed passwords on everything, and called my bank to file a fraud charge. These people called back and became very defensive when I called them a scam and began saying rude things to me, proving they were in fact not legit.

The business qikbay agent tried to pretend he was from McAfee anti virus software. He unsold me a special which said was 3 years of service for multiple devices. This was not the case then I tried on a second device and also when I saw my receipt after I already gave my credit card. I have tried to contact them at the phone number given and I just get disconnected. I also tried emailing them and they never respond. I have tried to dispute this with my credit card company but they said until I get ahold of a person they cant refund me. Thats not right when I am trying and obviously this is a scam and they make sure you cant get ahold of them. I need help so I can get my $180 back to me.

On June 25 2023, I called Mcafee to help me install my Total protection service I purchased from Amazon. I called customer sevice and thought I dialed Mcafee instead the number was the website before that looked like Mcafee. ******************************* answered and pretended to be from Mcafee. I asked him to help me set up Total protection I purchased from Amazon and right away he said that all Amazon offerings been invalid since November and taking awhile to clean up. He then proceeded to scare me with all the trackers that are tracking me. Believing I'm talking to ******, I went ahead and let him control my computer. Then i was passed on to another agent, assuring me that he is indeed from ****** and proceeded with the controlling and installing the program at the cost of $379.00! Then I got a Text from my ************************ asking bout the transaction from Jinigram LLC. I denied the transaction because its not Mcafee. Thats when i realized I've been scammed. The charged went through my **** anyway. I called the real Mcafee and they help me set up my purchase from Amazon.

On 5/02/23 I purchased what I believed to be McAfee protection for my laptop and was told would add up to 9 additional devices (including a desktop) for $279,00. I did this after receiving an email stating that my McAfee subscription had expired and asking if I would like to purchase further protection. I thought it would be good to have protection (anti-virus) and so decided to purchase. What a terrible mistake. On Monday 7/10/23 I signed in to my McAfee account for assistance with seeing the receipt to my transaction. I talked with someone on the online chat. He explained that the McAfee product that I have is a free trial. Therefore, there is no reason I should have paid that amount and I want a complete refund.

I am rejecting this response because: the business is asking me to contact them in order to process the refund even though they already have the information they need to do so, as demonstrated via a refund statement sent to me by email. To this day, the refund has not been processed. What that really mean is, the money did not come back into my account. Moreover, calling them is long-distance, which is not included in my phone plan.

    Seriously,

I was trying to resolve my McaFee virus protection and I called a 866 number on the web just above the McaFee web site by mistake. It had listed McaFee in their web address and on their web listing and info giving the impression that their were a McaFee customer service representative. After talking with the representative he wanted to sell me a $379 3yr McaFee virus subscription which I reluctantly did with my **** ending in ****. My receipt from them was from quikbay for $379 for 3yrs. He tried to connect me with a technician to do some virus protection work via text. I got suspicious and cut the call off and immediately checked the phone number. I called the McaFee.com phone number and the McaFee customer service representative said that they only give out 1 or 2 yr subscriptions. I called the quikbay company back and asked ************************* for a $379 refund but he refused. I called my bank to cancel the charge and my **** card ending in **** at cost of $25. This ************************* misrepresented himself as a McaFee customer service representative and the virus protection service as a non qualified 3yr protection rather than the 1 or 2 yr service subscriptions that McaFee represents.

    Date: 06/15/2023

    Dear *******,

First of all let us clear the confusion and establish some facts:

    1. We are an independent third party Distributor and Reseller of numerous software and hardware product lines.
    2. We do not make outbound calls whatsoever.
    3. Whenever a customer calls our ***** number, they hear a clear IVR that recites the branding information.
    4. Whenever a sale is conducted, at numerous points, branding information is rehashed and digital signatures taken for every purchase.

Based on your complaint, we have investigated the matter internally and with the resellers as well. Here are our findings:

    1. You have signed a digital contract that clearly outlines the above mentioned assertions.
    2. You made a payment using a link that was sent to you (which includes acknowledgement taken by the bank itself).
    3. Most software products, once sold are not refunded, but we have a very consumer friendly policy and allow refunds, especially to elder citizens.
    4. In your case, you never called back for a refund, if you had, it would have been processed promptly, given our policy.
    5. You purchased multiple product licenses with a 3 year validity. According to our records, the licenses are being used as of today.
    6. You purchased the products and then somehow panicked assuming a scam. Scam companies don't process refunds.
    7. It seems that you are not the customer, it may be someone else in your family, hence an abject lack of understanding of the context.

    The Resolution:

As per our policy, we will process the refund. It is unfortunate that without requesting a refund, you have resorted to such tactics. We don't blame you though, it does happen a times with elderly people that they forget the sale, brand, and the company and assume that the transaction on their account is of unknown origin. Regardless, as mentioned, we will process the refund and as a goodwill gesture we will let you use the software. We hope to win your business back in future.

As per the conversation and email acknowledgement from you, we will process the full refund.

    Regards
    Support Team

Friday 5/13/22 I purchased what I believed to be McAfee protection for my laptop and was told **uld add up to 9 additional devices (including a desktop) for $107.99. I did this after receiving an email stating that my McAfee subscription had expired and asking if I would like to purchase further protection. On Sunday 5/15/22 I called McAfee for assistance with adding the protection to my mothers desktop **mputer and spoke with a "Senior Executive". I have the case number for the call. He explained that the McAfee product that I had purchased on 5/13/22 for $107.99 was not the **rrect product for my laptop and initiated a refund. He provided me with an option that would be appropriate for my laptop, and I agreed to purchase the McAfee 3 Year Total Protection (Advanced) for a total of $279. I was instructed to call technical support to have them install the protection package on each device that I wished. On Monday 5/16/22 I called McAfee at 10:30am to have a representative load the protection onto my laptop as I had been instructed and was told that the $279 package was not appropriate for my laptop! He said that the package that I need for my laptop is LiveSafe with **st $310. I requested a refund for the $279 and he refused to issue a refund- though it was less than 24 hrs after the purchase! The charge posted to my credit card as Qikbay (not McAfee) on 5/15 and though I disputed this charge with my cc ** immediately with detailed documentation, I am getting stuck with paying the $279 as my cc ** states ****** provided proof of delivering the "device". I am going to dispute further if the bank allows further dispute. Can you help me re**ver the $279? What merchant refuses to issue a refund for a request made less than 24 hours after purchase? I removed the application from my phone and other device right then on 5/16! I no longer wanted the product!

Contrary to the business response to this complaint that they did not hear from me, I did in fact request a refund with a sales representative on 5/16/2022 (per documentation attached to this complaint). Please advise specifically how I can receive the full refund as the business states in their response that they will refund the entire amount and requests that I contact them, however, they do not provide any contact information (name, phone number, email address, street address, fax, etc.) Please advise Jinigram,Jinify Your Digital Home to initiate the refund immediately. Please let me know the outcome.

    Sincerely,
