I have not been able to contact venmo regarding my payment that should have been received days ago. They do not respond and they have no telephone human beings to speak to it is impossible to navigate the website and I need this money badly it is causing me a great deal of financial hardship and stressBusiness Response

I tried to open a Venmo account in January of 2024 -- it said it would take a few days and I forgot about setting it up. In June of 2024, I wanted to use Venmo to pay another individual -- I downloaded the app again, but it said my account was frozen. I chatted with Venmo through the app -- they said they would send me an email. On July 1 I received an email "Weve noticed some unusual activity linked to your Venmo account which may be in violation of our user agreement." ********************** kept asking me for a bank statement that matched the last 4 digits of the bank account I set up through Venmo's connection with Plaid. I submitted one. I then I received an email that said "Due to several concerns regarding your account activity, we made the decision to permanently restrict your account."Business Response

On Saturday June 29th I received the payment for $1,000. So I sent $100 to my Paypal account and I bought $100 in crypto. Then I went to send more money to my Paypal account and I couldn't because my account was suspended. So I got an email saying that I need to upload my ID and change my password so I did all that. And then I waited until Tuesday July 2nd before my account was unlocked. So I tried to send money to my PayPal again and it immediately suspended me again. I have bills to pay and this is not making it very convenient. And their customer service isn't very useful. All they seem to do is refer me back to my email. So I uploaded my ID a second time and just for good measure I uploaded my birth certificate. And I hadn't heard back from them so I checked the status of my issue, and they had it marked resolved. But it's definitely not resolved. And now I get the impression they're ignoring me. I don't know if they want me to give up and close my account so they can have my money or what. But I have bills to pay and I'm afraid I might get kicked out of my apartment because I can't get my rent money out of venmo.Business Response

My account was frozen in late January and I immediately sent the information they requested. They never unfroze my account. I contacted customer service and resent the information they asked for 2 months later. They still did not unfreeze my account. I have asked for them to close the account altogether and they have refused to do so still demanding my personal documents that I have sent them multiple times.Business Response

I was a victim of a scam on Venmo. I filed a police report Report and stop the payment at the bank. Venmo restricted my account and for the past year, I have not made any transactions Someone sent money to my account and ********************** stole it and kept it This was a crime. I worked with Venmo because they had a buyers protection. I made all payments to this unlicensed contractor who lived in my vacant home instead of providing the services and even stole items and sold them on ******** marketplace. When I filed a dispute for the none work, venmo denied one of my claims. I emailed them to try and recieve the documentation that was used to determine the decision and appeal the decision but instead was given a run around about being able to provide additional information and then them prematurely closing before I was able to provide any additional information. I showed them pictures where he did not paint anything, but instead damaged property, stole, and used my home as an hotel while he lied. I would like to option for an unbiased person to actually look at my evidence. We had a contract that he did not fufill or abide by and I am within my rights as the service that I requested and we agreed to was not provided or attempted.Business Response

OK so I just got paid and have bills to pay all my money is on My venmo all of a sudden now I can't access my money because my account was frozen do to security purposes, this is such a hassle for me cause now I will be late and be charged for it which I don't have the money to be paying for late fees I talked to venmo customer service all they said was I had to wait 3 to 5 days for someone to email me. My venmo card and bankcard was stolen and crypto was bought with it. I contacted my bank. They did an investigation on it which took a month to resolve. The bank (Heritage ******************** found that my account was used to buy crypto and refunded my money. Venmo proceeds to freeze my account. I call ******************** and they treated me extremely poorly and refused to even take my bank letter on the investigation. Today I find out that Venmo steals my 100 dollars and wants me to pay the people who stole my money an additional 150 dollars. Venmo are thieves in my opinion and the business model is not customer friendly at all especially when it comes to bank fraud.Business Response
