On February 12, 2025, Venmo notified me via email that my account had been closed and the $50.00 balance had been sent to escheatment (**). Im a truck driver who did a load to ******* to a storage Unit. When I arrived the company tried to pay me in ***** and there transactions declined several times. It is the policy to not unloaders touch items off my truck until Im paid. I drove 3hrs to this locations they said go to locker 40 it was empty with a lock it did not have a lock on the pad at all. So I called them and it ended up being locked 4 they only said they can pay me in Venmo so I created a account right on the spot and they sent payment of $200 to the Venmo I called Venmo told them I thought I was being scammed they told me the payment will come to me unless I return it to them. A few days later the company put in a dispute and Venmo gave them the money. I sent in the right information proving that the company was scamming me and they still denied my appeal. I closed my venmo account and requested they send me a check for the balance in my account which was $2,122.00. This was back in early April. On April 12, 2025, Mr. ****** received a $4,000.00 Venmo gift. During the process of transferring these funds to his account, he was induced to contact a Venmo customer service which obtained personal details from him, including his name, email, and phone number, and subsequently sent a link that allowed the purported.Venmo customer service to access his account. The purported Venmo customer service was fraudulent. Mr. ****** was not informed by the Venmo App which he used that such fraudulent impersonators were victimizing Venmo customers although it was aware that such fraudulent actors were victimizing Venmo customers. This failure is inconsistent with the standards in the industry, where banks and other financial institutions guard their customers with prominent notices which aid them in avoiding such schemes.Fortunately, of the $4,000.00 stolen, $2,878.46 was reversed, but Venmo has denied reversal or payment of the remainder.Section 501(b) of the *** Act, 15 U.S.C. 6801(b), requires financial institutions to protect the security, confidentiality, and integrity of customer information by developing a comprehensive written information security program that contains reasonable administrative,technical, and physical safeguards, including: (1) identifying reasonably foreseeable internal and external risks to the security, confidentiality, and integrity of customer information, and assessing the sufficiency of any safeguards in place to control those risks; (2) designing and implementing information safeguards to control the risks identified through risk assessment, and regularly testing or otherwise monitoring the effectiveness of the safeguards key controls, systems, and procedures.Business Response

I have been using venmo for three years... No complaints no disputes no limitations no nothing bad on ****** night my friend. Was sending me 800 dollars and all of a sudden venmo blocks the transaction and then proceeds to suspend my account according to a violation. Which none was committed and their response was to deny me a immediate supervisor or any more information and said it would take 3-5 days for any response to help my account that is verified and has never had any problems. I wouldn't mind but 800 dollars is alot of money and they purposely blocked me from receiving without a valid reason.Business Response

I purchased a ********** listing for a laptop computer on July 15th via Venmo Goods and Services with purchase protection. The seller immediately stopped responding and never sent the item I purchased. I filed a dispute on 7/18, providing information available up to that ******** is now 8/2 and I have no additional information on when or if this dispute is going to be resolved. I have been told by several different chat associates that the seller has seven business days, ten calendar days, ten business days, and no specified period of time, to respond to the dispute. The status of the case changed on the front end but apparently not on the back end, because the seller is still being given more than two weeks to respond. I've had to purchase a different computer at this point and, even if by some miraculous circumstance the seller starts responding, I no longer want the item as it was not shipped by the promised date.All I am asking for is some kind of reasonable timeframe for the resolution of this dispute. I'm happy to give any other information needed. The dispute agents are apparently unreachable, which is understandable so they can do their jobs, but I have gotten absolutely no information whatsoever in over two weeks, and I am being given incorrect information from the support agents I can correspond with. On June 24th, 2025 my Venmo account that was made 30 minutes prior was permanently banned. I have one account years ago that was long lost to an old phone number. It was only after receiving a payment from a friend of $50 that my account was instantly suspended. They said theyve required identification because of suspicious activity and even though I have only had the account for 30 or so minutes and had did nothing, not even attach my bank, I still proceeded to fulfill the verification process. Shortly afterwards I was told that my account was permanently banned and my money was being held for 180 days even though I drastically needed the money for bills. Ive asked and sent a numerous amount of emails and contact orders to get answers. I called and called and Id get told that it was the doing of an overseeing account specialist. I eventually started to fall short on my bills leading me into some debt because of that money in my account being held. They kept send the same email saying that they dont make these decisions likely but no real help. I was told that it was illegal for that type of online bank to withhold funds away from me. If my account was flagged for whatever reason so be it but that is my money. They kept saying if they found it fit to return my funds and the ability to transfer it out they would after ********************************************************************* boldly. He told me that he would temporarily allow me to perform a transfer of my funds to get them out of the account and that was also false and never happened. Every email from them was copy and paste pretty much and I they would always say at the end that they are deeming the case closed so if I reply they wouldnt respond, but they would also please contact me if you need any assistance. This app is a scam and I want my money released. They are ruining my life, and I dont have much as it is. Please send someone to help.Business Response
