A transaction with a Venmo customer on 12/11/24 for $300 which turned out to be a scam. I contacted Venmo right away and they explained to me that I would be able to get my $300 back with no problem. After consulting with customer service representatives and supervisors, I have been told there is an option for the purchase protection for the purchase but was not given that option when making the transaction. No one, including Account Specialists, can explain when and how the purchase protection option appears on Venmo transactions. I am asking for the $300 to be returned as I should have been given the option for the purchase protection.Business Response

My wife transferred money into my account so I could pay bills. I needed to get the money to my bank account. I tried several times and now they have frozen the account due to suspicious activity. I am trying to send MY MONEY to MY BANK ACCOUNT! How is that suspicious? They tell me it will be 3-5 business days before they can resolve the issue and will not let me talk to anyone who actually handles unfreezing the account. They hung up on me when I called customer service. and demanded an answer. The say everything is handled through email. This is a financial institution. Venmo has froze my account with a couple days away to Christmas and that money is for my children's presents and I have done everything they asked but still won't unfreeze my account and it has over $800 in it. So now my kids won't get a Christmas because they have my money. There customer service and support are one of the worst I've dealt with. They have made it so difficult I would recommend don't use Venmo they don't care about nothing but there bottom line and just want to try to make life harder on you.Business Response

Venmo has allowed another Venmo user to scam and fraud me out of additional money. I provided proof to Venmo that I had only agreed to a $260 payment to a contractor for service, and the contractor charged me $565. That is $265 more than the agreed amount. I reported this to Venmo the same day, and Venmo has failed to address my concern. Venmo is a scam and allows its customers to commit fraudulent transactions.Customer Answer

Venmo did not conduct an investigation nor did they offer any assistance to get my money back. Venmo allows its clients and its platform to be used for scams and fraud. They were given an opportunity to investigate after receiving proof and failed to professionally address the concern. Legal action may be taken next.

They will not let me transfer my funds or pull them out or use them for that they just keep telling me the same thing try again in 5 mins I have been to town which isnt close to my house about an hour away 4 times not cause they told me to try again and never does it work and I just want to finish my Xmas shopping beofre my family Christmas I dont think thats gonna be possible they were supposed to have this money to me October and prob wouldnt have even got it if I didnt go back and search my spam emails they prob would have kept itBusiness Response

I just opened this Venmo account I had my brother in law send me a $280 payment to help with out electric bill. On November 25, 2024, *********** issued me a refund for $86.99 for a grocery order never filled. I paid for it via PayPal, which is funded by my Venmo debit card ending in 2903. The refund showed in PayPal immediately but STILL hasn't been credited to my debit card. I have made multiple calls and been told different things each time. Finally, I was told that it is an IT problem with Venmo, and they are aware and "working on it". That was a week ago. I need my money back.
