I recently realized I have had 2 concurrent accounts at $159 a month. Thinking the one account I knew I had was cancelled, I pulled the account up on their website. I saw a 2nd acct that has been billed since 2019. It shows 0 devices attached. I called customer service on 3/6/25. The *** cancelled my renewal for the 1st acct, but escalated the issue with the 2nd acct to a mgr for the "concurrent" account. I was contacted by ******** on 3/7/25. She said she can't do anything and that some people want multiple accounts. I noted that it shows not devices are protected by that account. At one point, she noticed the 2nd acct was a trial. WHY would a trial **** lead to 2 accts rather than extend to renew on its own? I can't believe that a company this large can't track that they have produced 2 accounts and then not stand behind themselves by correcting the error. (Ironically, a COMPUTER company that should be using computers to track these things, and it's supposed to be protecting people from fraud.) Ideally, I'd love to have fee for the past several years refunded because it took me so long to realize that the redundant emails were about 2 different accounts, but certainly, it's not too much to ask for them to refund the current year's fee of $159 for the 2nd account that clearly shows no devices have been protected or attached to this account. I even got desperate and begged, being as I am unemployed and in dire straits. (Also, the fee is much higher than any plan they offer, even at regular prices before special offers. Not a respectable practice.)

In 2024 I had a subscription with McAfee for virus protection on my computer. When I received the notice for auto-renew for 2025 I cancelled the subscription because I also have ********* Defender on my computer and I don't need both. They billed me for the renewal. I contacted them through their website and when I received a call I was told I had to cancel my account and they would issue me a refund. I explained that I had already cancelled it and they didn't honor my request and I wasn't going to do it again. I did go onto their website to see if I could cancel it again and it said my subscription was expired, so there is literally no way I can cancel it.

I noticed an unauthorized charge on my bank statements from McAfee. I haven't used their services since 2022. I contacted customer support, and they confirmed that I haven't used my device covered under ********************** since 2022, meaning I have been paying for services from *********, and McAfee has provided no services. McAfee representative stated I have been paying for a subscription to cover 50 devices annually since 2022. During this time, I covered 0 devices. ********************** agreed to refund me for 2025 charges, but refused to refund for services in previous years that were not provided. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was denied. McAfee representatives confirmed that they have provided no protection services since 2022, but I have paid $162.89 annually. I did not authorize this subscription nor did I ever increase my subscription to cover up to 50 devices. The billing information under my McAfee profile was expired, but they somehow obtained my new banking information and charged at higher rates on a device which was deactivated in 2022.

February 25, 2025:Hello: I would like to file a complaint against a company called McAfee, ******************** Security ***************** email: ******************************************************** contact # **************, Corporate Address in **: McAfee, LLC, *********************************************. Popups have been happening for the past 4-or 5-days. The popups are advertisement to buy antivirus for my computer and they cover my entire screen. I also get a popup to renew **************** with this virus popup. Both popups cover my entire screen and it takes me 3 to 4 clicks on the corner of the popup to get rid of them. They return about every 30 to 40 minutes. I could not find any contact information except this email: ******************************************* to send to *********, to ask them about the popup that was requesting me to update my software. I sent ********* an email on February 19th, informing them that in January 2023, I purchased ********* Pro 2021 software for my computer and paid for a Lifetime License #******** to use my ********* software.I want both McAfee and ********* popups to stop accessing my computer ASAP. I had to take a test for a job I applied for today, on a computer I dont use much, due to the popups on my HP laptop that I use daily. I dont like to report companies to the BBB, but this is interfering with my private life and that is something that should not be happening. I buy the things I want, and will not be subjected to any company using illegal tactics to try to get my business. I appreciate whatever BBB can do in reference to putting a stop to both companies accessing my private computer. I can be reached at: *********************** If possible, I will add copies of the popups I am getting to this file.Thank you,******* A. ******

November 28, 2018 a McAfee antivirus computer software was somehow purchased. I believe it was a free-trial that went into billing mode. We never installed the software, and not once used it. This is evident when you log in and it shows that no devices are connected. However the program managed to not only continue to bill us - but increase the price each year! I'm not even sure how this happened - as credit cards expire - the software program also had a unique access to our credit card account. In total, $577.42 was charged for a service we never set up, with annual charges in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. Eventually we realized this mistake in November 2022, and contacted McAfee. they refunded the most recent 2022 transaction of ******. This is completely taking advantage of me (and presumably others) with billing customers non-stop until its noticed, and offering no refunds. We were extremely busy raising four kids ages birth, 2, 4, and 6 when these charges began. It's an expensive thing we didn't notice for years that added up quickly. There should be policies that ban digital companies from continuous billing after a year of an inactive account. I am writing requesting a refund for ******.
