I used this business one time for an extended video reading off ******* several months ago. Was met with being called a b**** in the video by a fake reader who calls herself INJtarot from the U.K, didn't appreciate that scam so I allowed the 8.88 charged on my card to go through and from what I thought was completed a cancel and delete of the entire account. But low and behold WordPress can't let it go, here they come back again charging my account 8.88 monthly? For a subscription? Look this type of hack is really annoying, it not only is against my acceptance but my bank will have to close down my card and reproduce a new one which takes 7 to 8 business days to receive. This causes a problem on my end and these scammers think this is funny interrupting my life for a repeated hack of 8.88 I don't wish to pay. Now I demand they return it or repercussions will be met. Hacks are illegal and I won't play they're games. Stay out of my bank!

      Hi!
Thank you for reaching out with the details of the subscription.
I see you've attached an email we sent you on the 5th of August, 2025.
The domain name was automatically renewed shortly after, as expected, and a receipt was sent to the account in charge of the billing.
This is verifiable by checking the whois information of the domain name.
Regarding the reply from support, I see that the first message you've sent us from the email address mentioned is no older than 24hours, and we've sent you a reply since.
That reply contains further information about how to access your account.
If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to reply to the email, we'd be happy to help ???

      Hi,

Thank you for this response. I had written more than 24 hours previously and wrote again because I had no received a response. I am very grateful for the BBB because I am now receiving regular responses, but that had not previously been the case.

I am hopeful that customer service remains attentive and can resolve my issue - it makes absolutely no sense that I should receive an auto-renewal notice at my email address and then be told that my email address is not associated with the account being auto-renewed!

Ive communicated this and other problems with being shut out of my domain to the help desk. Unless Im once again left going around and around in circles proving that I have a paid subscription and only getting chatbot responses, I wont need to keep this complaint going.

      Sincerely,

Hey there I completely understand how frustrating this has been, especially after reaching out multiple times without clear answers. Youve been very patient, and Im sorry for the confusion around your account access.

Heres whats likely happening: accounts with only a domain registration (no paid plan) dont have direct chat or email support, which is why its been tricky to connect with our support team.

To help sort this out, Ill reach out directly to the email address linked to your WordPress.com account that owns the domain. Thatll let us verify ownership and help you regain access so you can manage your renewal properly.

Thanks again for your patience well make sure you dont have to keep going in circles.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

One thing to note is that I hadnt received a response until I complained on BBB. I did indeed have a paid account and subscription. Its unclear to me how another account was created as the original email address that I used for the paid subscription was still in use.

Im grateful for the BBB reaching out on my behalf because I dont think I would have gotten through to a human otherwise. I understand that Wordpress will only provide customer service to people with a paid subscription, but when the chatbot cant find my paid account, that is not helpful.

My issue is now resolved. Thank you!

I was charged $329.25 by Wordpress for a purchase I did not make on September 11, 2025. I did not purchase a Wordpress Business account and I was charged for this service. I filed a ****** dispute and Wordpress is trying to tell me that I have to cancel the dispute for them to be able to refund my money. I spoke with ****** and they confirmed this was false and that if I cancelled the dispute, then Automatic would not be required to resolve the issue. This appears to be a situation that the business is trying to get me to cancel a dispute that would remove their accountability so they would not have to refund me the money they owe me for a charge I did not make and have cancelled immediately.

On Jun 21, 2025, I sent an alarming report to Wordpress.com and even an email, alerting them of what I witnessed on a blog post for a public figure. The man behind the blog is (allegedly) a lawyer who has been nonstop posting, harassing, and stalking the public figure since 2015 - at least. He has even obtained photos of the guy that, his inner circle and friends, are not aware about. I don't k now HOW he get childhood photos of the public figure, but it clearly shows the attorney involved is unhinged.Wordpress responded by saying that the individual running the blog is NOT violating their terms of service, which is ridiculous, because all the guy has done is put "legal" terms and descriptions but it doesn't matter. There needs to be a full fledged investigation because the guy is NOT well in the head. I also took screenshots and have attached the correspondence with Wordpress.com, what I witnessed in the comments section of his blog post where he threatened a user when the commenter - based on the implication - warned him that his personal info was on another website because of how much information he has already divulged about himself as well.Instead of taking a step back, he doubled down and threatened to dox the individual. As previously stated, Wordpress refuses to remove his blog or do anything about this. Because I worry that this correspondence might have my phone number included, I have given out an alternate number for this report's sake. I can be reached at the email posted above if any information needs to be confirmed. Thank you.

Tried their Trial hosting, pointed my domain at the trial site, and canceled within trial. Closed the account. They have kept my domain and won't let it transfer out. Cannot access the account or contact support in any way.

      Hi there,

I reviewed the account linked to the email you provided and can confirm that we refunded the full amount paid when the plan was canceled.

Regarding the domain, there's a standard 60-day transfer block applied to all domains when they're purchased or transferred to a registrar. This is a common policy across all domain registrars. You can find more details about the transfer block here: [********************************************************************](********************************************************************)

I also noticed that the account linked to this email has been deleted. To access your domain, you'll need to reactivate your account. From there, you'll be able to view the domain's purchase/transfer date and initiate a transfer once the hold is lifted.

I hope this information is helpful for you, and you have a lovely rest of your day. Should you have any further questions, you can reach out support team here: ***********************************************

      Business Response

      Date: 07/21/2025

      Greetings, Sunil

Thank you for getting back to us. When you say you do not have any of the items required to recover your account do you mean the three options listed here?
      **************************************************************************************

If so, the option most of our clients find fastest is the transaction number. Since you paid for a domain transfer, you should be able to find this information in the emailed receipt to the address you had on file for you the account. Alternatively, the identifiers on this transaction on your bank statement will also provide the information needed. There is a link on the guide I've shared above with more information on where you can locate a transaction number if needed.

There's a chance though that even that would not be needed. When you closed your account, our system will have sent an email with a link you can click if you closed the account in error, or if you have changed your mind. If you can locate that email in your inbox, the link provided there should allow you to regain access to your account so we can try to help with the recovery of your domain name.

If that doesn't work, you can also email us directly from the address you used to create the account. That will also allow us to help you restore it. Please send an email to ******************************* and we'll be very happy to assist. Please don't send any account info like transaction numbers or email addresses here on this platform - that's private information related to your account's security, and we want to keep everything safe and secure for you!

Our team is standing by to assist. When you have a moment, please email us at ******************************* so we can help get this sorted out for you. Please contact us as soon as possible, as your account data is purged 30 days after your account is closed, and that will make it more challenging to fix things. Your domain name, because it was cancelled prior to your account closure, is also in a tenuous position. Cancelled domains, having been released by their previous owner, can go to someone new in an auction or other means. The sooner we hear from you at ******************************* the better able we will be to try and resolve these issues for you!

this happened 7/8 around 1100pm til early hours 7/9 first business was a scam, i got a little upset with them and cant report it but they charged me $200 and didnt end up helping me. i ended up back to wordpress help, the first thing you see when you open the chat is the first fix is $1. nothing else no disclaimer no added nothing. i get the help and she said itll be $149, i said i dont have that another company just took $200 from me and i got overdrafted, i didnt have it. so she said it could be $1-$10 for the fix but then immediately came back and said actually its $99 per the team. i have screenshots of the chat and receipts that i paid for it. top chat clearly started first fix is $1 and no ties to it. i believe i was overcharged and when i questioned it she said i told you it would take longer than 15 minutes also have that in screenshots. she said itll could be up to a three hour fix, i paid it at 12:40, she didnt get it started until 12:45. clearly stated at top, and she even went to look into it. so not only did i loose $200, but another $149 and 2 overdraft fees

The information provided with the complaint shows that the support was provided by the team at ******************************, not the support team for WordPress.com. They can be contacted through this page: *****************************************

I agree that the company that charged you for support that was not provided to you should resolve this. However, WordPress.com is not the company you were chatting with.

I reviewed the screenshots you sent, and it appears that this chat may have been started with the support team at ******************************. If so, I would suggest submitting your complaint to the BBB for the ****************************** company so that you can get a resolution.

I had a website subscription from WordPress years ago, like back in 2016. I canceled my subscription from them around about 2018 or so. I then realized they were still charging my account. I removed all of my details off the website, and tried to remove my card information, I have even gotten a new card since them. I also have reached out to them several times to inform I DO NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS AND TO STOP CHARGING ME. I even reported the charge as not approved on my card, yet somehow years later they are still charging me! THIS IS ROBBERY! I have not wanted, used and canceled their service years ago!

      Business Response

      Date: 05/14/2025

      Hi *******!

We're sorry to hear there's been some confusion regarding the billing on your account. I've issued a refund for the most recent transaction for you and cancelled the subscription it was renewing. I also looked into why this had happened to be sure it wasn't something that would happen again.

From what I can see in the history of the account these transactions fall under:
      - A Premium Plan was purchased for the website in June of 2019.
      - A domain connection for ***************** was added at the same time. The connection fee was waived at the time as benefit of the Premium Plan mentioned above.
      - The Premium Plan was cancelled shortly after it was purchased, but the domain connection was not - and without a paid plan to accompany it, that domain connection became a paid upgrade on a renewing subscription, so the payment method on the original transaction when the Plan and Connection were purchase has continued to be used for the regularly scheduled renewals.

As mentioned above, I've issued a refund for the most recent charge shown in the screenshot you provided. For help/info on the previous transactions, please send an email to ******************************** preferably from the address associated with your old account if possible. If not, please include the same screenshot you submitted here so we can identify the transaction and confirm you as the purchaser.

I also noticed you mentioned contacting us about this previously, and I apologize that this wasn't addressed sooner. I did try to locate those correspondences to look into the matter, but I don't see any contacts regarding refunds on the account that made the purchases, or from the email address used for this message. It's possible we didn't recieve those messages, or maybe our replies to you weren't delivered. We're happy to look into this further for you through the email address I've shared above. When you reach out please watch for a reply. Also, if you reference Ticket #******* in your email it will help locate the details and notes of the issue for you.

We look forward to hearing from you to resolve this issue soon!

Thank you for reaching out about your domain name! We'd be happy to help you track it down.

This kind of issue is often caused by someone owning more than one WordPress.com account, and logging in to the wrong one. If you have multiple accounts, please log in and double check that the domain isn't owned by one of them. If you have more than one active email address, please try searching your inboxes for emails from WordPress.com? That might reveal a second account that has what you're looking for.

If you still aren't able to locate the domain name, please contact our support team directly - I know you tried that before and were unsuccessful, so to make sure you reach us, please follow these specific steps:

      1. Log in to your WordPress.com account and open support just like you did before
      2. Tell the bot "connect me to a human"
      3. If it asks for context on your problem say something simple like "I can't find my domain" and then reply to additional messages with ""connect me to a human"
      4. The bot will provide a timeframe for a Happiness Engineer to respond - at that point your message is on our to-do list. You should get a reply right away or within a few minutes, but if we're actively helping other customers we might need to follow up later in the day, but we will get back to you.

I have been locked out of my blog *************** for months. I get emails occasionally at the email address above, although password resets go to *********************** I have reset my password, but either I get a blank screen, or I am taken to my demwritepress template from when I wrote for them. I recently received an email that I am about to be charged my annual subscription fee for the **** I attempted again to get in so I could cancel it and not get charged, I hit the same brick walls. I have attempted to contact customer service, it tells me that I cannot speak to a live person since I am not a paying customer and directs me to the chat forums. I am filing this complaint because I paid for a service I cannot access, and they are about to charge me $118 on March 15th, and are not letting in to stop the charge. Please help.

      Hi *****,

I understand how frustrating this must be, and I appreciate you reaching out so we can help get this sorted.

It looks like your site, ***********, is linked to a WordPress.com account under the email ************************************ This type of email is generated when signing up with "Sign in with *****," which can sometimes cause confusion if you expected your usual email to be associated with the account. Additionally, we found two other accounts under ********************** and ********************** that also belong to you.

To prevent any unwanted charges, Ive disabled auto-renew on your subscription, so you wont be billed the $118 on March 15. Since the last payment was made a year ago, its past our refund window, so Im unable to issue a refund for that charge.

If you need help regaining access to the account tied to ************************************ please email us at ******************************* from either ********************** or **********************, referencing ticket #*******, and well help get everything sorted for you.

Looking forward to resolving this for you!
