We took out a personal loan to pay for a vehicle. It was not an auto loan, but a loan that we used to purchase a vehicle from a private seller using cash. Mistakenly, Sofi bank was placed on our title as a lienholder. We only realized this when we attempted to print the title and were notified that there was a lien. We do not, in fact, have a lien from Sofi for the car. In order for the title office to remove Sofi as a lien holder, we need a letter on official letterhead stating that they have no investment in the car and do not hold a lien on our vehicle. We have been told by two different individuals at Sofi that they cannot provide this. They sent us a secure message through their system that included all the necessary information, but the title office will not accept it. I am not sure why Sofi cannot provide me with the same information on letterhead with a signature, even in electronic format. That's literally the only thing that I need from them as a resolution, but they keep saying they can't do that. They did not have anything to do with the loan and I just need them to say that officially in a letter on electronic letterhead.Business Response

Perhaps training your employees on how to handle the request would be beneficial, since three employees (2 by phone and 1 via your FB ***** told me it was not possible. Thanks for the quick response.

I invested approximately $8,000 into a **** **** few years ago. I few months ago I logged into my account and saw that money was gone. I have contacted the business several times to get my money back but that have been able to get my money back.Business Response

On 2/4/25, I refinanced my student loan to ******* (from SoFi). I have confirmation of payment from ******* to SoFi for the outstanding balance of my student loan (~ $180,000) on 2/5/25. After this payment occurred, SoFi continued to charge me monthly for student loan payment ($3697.75) for the next two months, even stating that if I didn't pay my student loan balance that I would be reported to the ************. At this time, I was paying my monthly amount to both ******* and SoFi. Two months after the refinance (4/4/25), I was told that the transaction between SoFi and ******* would be complete and I would be refunded my two payments of $3697.75. This did not happen. I called late ****** confirmed my information, and was told the checks would be mailed to me. Early May, I called again and was told that there was a delay on their part, but that I would be fully refunded. On May 13th, one of my payments was wired back to me. To this day, I have not received the remaining $3697.75 due to "processing delays" on their part.Business Response

I went for a personal loan and they told me that my credit usage was too high. Although on my credit report, it's only 3% usage and that my income wasn't good enough. But I make a $188000 a my income to Loan ratio was too high although I only owe very little.This also involved the hard hit to my credit. Which of course, affected it negatively? I filed a similar complaint against ***************** for refusing to refund me money that they said they didnt charge me for. However, the proof is in my bank account. The issue with my bank, SoFi, is that they have been extremely unhelpful throughout this process. They have restricted my account because I called and said that ***************** had charged me too many times and that there was someone who logged into my account on an unknown device. I dont suspect fraud though because the agent told me and I quote this was an error on our end but PROCEEDED to lock down my account for 72 hours even though it was their error. They have also been no help with getting me the refund from ***************** because they said the pending charge will have to post while being disputed. Every time I call something different is said. I cant get anyone who will help me with the issue at hand. ***************** says to contact my bank SoFi and my bank says contact *****************. Its a never ending process that has hindered my ability to pay my bills like I stated in the other complaint. I am at a loss as to what to do except complain because no one has been helpful and everyone has been copying and pasting the same answer when I try to chat. Phone calls are no different. Its like they dont understand what Im saying at all because I clearly stated for two disputes to be cancelled due to the fact that I discovered $31 and $29 from ***************** were the legitimate charges while $136.96 was the one I was trying to dispute. I asked them to cancel they investigation and they said we will continue the investigation regardless of my claim stating those two smaller charges were legitimate. This makes me want to switch banks and I need someone who understands what is actually going on to contact me. This is affecting my daily life and bills. I have no credit cards to use. This is it. Early in the year I disputed a charge from Avant. SoFi did their investigation and and found probable cause and reimbursed me the money Avant took out. I was told I can only block the merchant by giving them an exact amount. Which I did. A few months later Avant took more money out from my account (in different amounts 2x- $165.48 and 1x- $15) When I disputed these transactions the dispute was denied because it was a civil case involved. I informed them that my account was active and NOT in any court of law. They told me it would be reopened and sent to the back end to be resolved. They lied to me and I was told it was already closed and they arent doing anything for me. However, the same exact investigation conducted the first time would be needed to be repeated and they would have the same exact results! I called everything in so they will have recordings of these conversations and emails.Business Response

I have a bank account with them and one day I logged on only to find that my account has been blocked. I have contacted them NUMEROUS times to find out why and straighten it out and everytime I call they can NEVER tell me why I am blocked and the only advice they give me to get this resolved is that they will put in an order to escalate my problem. It has rocked on for going on a year now with no end in sight. I only have around $30 left in the acct but thats slot to me because my husband has recently had to retire early due to health issues that we didnt foresee coming.
