Beware. Nextdoor is not a legitimate, innocent, "neighborly" app designed to connect people for the good of the community. It is run by extreme left-wing investors (I say that as a liberal) intending to get rich by taking Nextdoor public and making money off our data. They don't tell you this (there was no Opt-in, or Opt-Out when I signed up), but they could care less about your privacy. EVERYTHING you click on, write, post, or respond to (including all of your "private messages" to your neighbors, which are not private at all), are archived and stored for data mining. They have your name, your address, your interests, what you think and comment on, what you post to sell, etc. and they are making money off of it. There is NO privacy at Nextdoor, but they don't tell you that. They also "suspend" people regularly for not aligning with their extremely biased "woke" views, and ban others for the same. Then they imply that you could be the source of criminal activity, so they have to archive all your data. What? You correct a lie with a fact and you're banned? This is really sick stuff, and our congressional reps need to do something about this and soon. They are breaking privacy laws, and they are not being honest about who they really are. THIS IS NOT A KIND, SWEET, INNOCENT little neighborhood app. It is something much more nefarious than that. You can see this by reading the ratings and complaints posted here that I'm not the only one concerned about their business practices. NEXTDOOR needs to be investigated, fined and/or put out of business. Either that, or they need to come clean with their "neighbors" who trusted them to handle their data in an honest way, and to delete it upon request, as every other social media site/app does now. It's time to stop trusting NEXTDOOR. (And ignore their responses to these reviews... they are lies as well. They pretend their customers are to blame. This is all part of their game. Trust the reviews. DO NOT TRUST NEXTDOOR!

Advertising on Nextdoor I've been experimenting with the advertising for a few years on and off with a couple of businesses. Always found it difficult to turn off the ads. This last one was down right fraudulent. Made me feel like I was losing my mind! I canceled the ad. But then would get a bill. I canceled again. And it remained active. I canceled it, took a screen shot of the confirmation and low and behold - I'm still getting billed. Then it continues to run - cause I just got too busy to mess with the stupid thing. I get back on after more charges and cancel again and take a screenshot again and tried contacting them - but there's no good channel to contact the ad department. So I just hope support at nextdoor.com is an active email and shoot them a request to cancel and ask for a refund. I get a response back - they apologize. Say they'll refund on month and that they have now canceled the ad. WHAT? It was still active after all of that. Now, if they do that to twenty thousand businesses knowing only a few will go to that length to turn it off, they're making millions! It's crazy! It was still active

Super unethical use of email mailing lists, dozens of emails that all require you to independently unsubscribe.

I just blocked Nextdoor notices and removed the app. I wrote to Nextdoor relaying how a simple statement about a woman who was woken up at 11:30 pm by blasting patriotic music. She was immediately chastised for not being grateful and lived the music. I posted that some of us have to work and I was called names and judged, politics were brought into the thread. Its absolutely as bad as any sick social media site. There is no safe place to communicate with people, first amendment rights have been bastardized by people who are intent on being hateful. Why nextdoor cant determine that insulting ,judgement and politics are welcome at any other site but nextdoor. Would it be an outrageous and unfair to set standards??

I feel discriminated against on here my name is ***************************, I live in ************ so my next store is out of ************ I am so tired of being disrespected on this website. I made a post on here about my daughter which 3 years ago had brain cancer. She asked for help from the community, and people were responding I had two ladies on here harassing me. My post was removed. I had made a comment about it in another post but I didn't remove my post but yet the next day I noticed that you guys removed my post and took me off on a suspension but did nothing about those ladies being disrespectful to me what about my rights I'm asking you to put me back on it's not fair. Is there any safety for me I bought these ladies and you don't block them you let them talk to me like I am horrible person that isn't true.

I tried repeatedly to find out how to DELETE, not deactivate! my ND account and was faced with a number of tasks, like taking a photo of my laptop screen, which i did not want to do-it was intrusive and went far beyond what I was comfortable with sharing with them, to prove that I was still getting these stupid emails. Shouldn't be happening if I was truly deleted. They deactivate instead of delete so they can continue to pretend that all of these neighbors on actually on the site. Horrid app with deceptive practices.

I was a lead on Nextdoor for over 4 years, i did my best to follow the guidelines posted by the app when posting or reviewing posts, never voting to remove a post that did not violate the guidelines. One of my posts were removed that did not violate any guidelines. The ensuing conversation on that post was 2 days running with 200 comments, and the determination based on the conversation was that a certain elected official that was due for re-election lied to the public. When the post was removed, I questioned the removal asking what exact guideline was violated. And also accessed their, behind the black curtain, moderator community forum to report the violation, while in that forum i personally witnessed and responded to a post where a moderator was conspiring with other moderators to fabricate a guideline in an effort to remove a post that was contrary to the moderators personal religious beliefs.Because I replied with "no one had the right to cut out the tongue, sew the mouth, or duct tape the mouth, of any user that didnt violate the guidelines", I was immediately removed as lead on the platform.Update: My account has now been banned from the platform for reporting this.

Lead status was removed for being uncivil with other neighbors. The account was suspended for complaining about moderation which is a violating of the guidelines. The neighbor can reactivate their account by agreeing to the guidelines.

Please help next door app is absolutely horrendous! In my neighborhood there are a few people that are running next-door in their favor! I tried to contact my lead my lead wouldnt even answer me ever and I contacted them at least three times! It doesnt matter what the ones that are controlling it say to people they are bullies, and they control everything! I put a post to someone who was harassing me and it was removed within seconds which is impossible because it has to go to review and people vote for it I know because I was on the review team! This is a app that targets people and bullies them and should not be allowed to happen ! Please someone do something about this app! You can tell from all the reviews how bad this place is, and these are people in my neighborhood!

The Nextdoor app/site is weak? And dangerous for women.I had a guy send me three dissertation length private messages about how to sell a teapot. I kid you not.I told him he was an a****** with a lot of time on his hands (in a private message) and then blocked and reported him.Nextdoor banned ME for 3 days! Seriously. Their reasoning - the private message I sent the weirdo back telling him what I thought of him and to stop.Do they not get that being a woman and being harassed, in any way, by a male is disconcerting. Their behavior has been like "big brother" before but this is beyond comprehension. Are they truly this out of touch or do they still believe women need to "make nice" to weirdo men. And I love and cherish the men in my life. But even they would say this is bogus!!!
