On June 7th I was trying to get in touch with customer service on the Fetch app and was led to Just Answer. I was led to believe I could ask a question for $1.00 and they could help. Little did I know that they then immediately charged me another $*****. I was not going to do anything about the ***** till my daughter told me to make a complaint. I called company and was told they could not refund me because I accepted terms. (Apparently)Then I was told it will be ***** a month! No idea it was a membership.Thank god I did call. You likely clicked on an advertisement for JustAnswer which brought you to our site. You would have seen JustAnswer branding when you posted your question. I was looking for help with a plumbing problem. I clicked on just answers. I saw no mention of a paid for service. I asked a question and it lead to another site for the answer. I dropped the inquiry at this point. I don't know how they accessed my paypal account, never agreed to give access to it. I was charged 34 dollars. I asked a simple question about being able to file a deed transfer for my dead father's house. It was answered, I thought it was clear that the cost was 5$ but I was also charged 46$ on top of that. I used an app called just answer and they said I could sign up for 5$. I signed up and looked at my account and they charged me 46$ and 5$. They hid the 46$ charge and I immediately canceled the subscription when I found out. They also said it was fully refundable but will not refund me.Business Response

on June 12 2023, I went on the Just Ask site to research on a topic that was worrying me. I just needed to know if I could change attorneys while a case was still active. Just Ask said their fee is $5 which is refundable. When I entered my card details, i was immediately charged $65. There was no mention of that in the earlier correspondence; or anywhere on their site that mentioned such a hefty charge. I cannot reach their customer care. I am so frustrated on top of the bad day I was already having. There is absolutely no mention of the 60 dollars anywhere.Business Response

JustAnswer has been charging me $28 per month on my credit card since June 2021. I signed up for a one-time fee for one question and they made it a recurring payment without my knowledge or my permission. Shame on me for not catching this sooner, but so far they bilked me for $616.Business Response

In early April, I had reached out to JustAnswer for a veterinarians help with my dogs health condition. I had payed the initial fee to get help but was then automatically charged the next 2 months for a membership I did not authorize to be signed up for. The system had automatically signed me up for their membership that I was not aware I signed up for. I had not been able to see these charges as my dog has passed shortly after using JustAnswers services. There was no email indication that I will be charged and that they automatically assumed I wanted a membership with the one time fee. For someone who has been grieving a loss, its not ethically right for this business to charge their users without a monthly notice before the charge has occurred and without the customers approval. I am aware that I too was not the only user that was affected and that this has occurred to many people. I would like to just get a refund outside the initial fees as I have not used their services after my initial contact.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: they didn't refund the $1 "refundable" charge, the only one I agreed to pay. They did not send proof that I was ever informed of any other charges, or a copy of the chat which led to the whole thing in the first place. It really bothers me to see all the other people on this site who had similar experiences, and yet they continue to be abusive, and many people don't even know how to file complaints, so I imagine many many more people have been totally ripped off.

I was under the impression that I would just be charged $5 to talk to someone, and instead I was hit with an additional membership fee of $46. I talked to customer support, and not only was no resolution was found, but the text line they had set up cut off the second I mentioned that next to the $5 advertisement was a message saying refundable.
