Just Answer slams people with charges after stating that they will charge you $5.00 for answers for a month. They charged me $28.00 immediately upon my signing up in spite of their email saying they would not charge for 30 days. I cancelled my membership the same day that I signed up. Their representative told me that they could not refund the $28.00 fee to me. At that time, I demanded to speak with a supervisor. Once they called me back, I told the supervisor my request for a refund. She read me the company line that they could do nothing. At that point I told the supervisor that I would report them to the BBB as many others had. She then decided she could refund my $28.00. I would not use this company again as I consider it a con operation.Business Response

I apologize for any inconvenience. I checked your account and found that it shows you previously used our service in March of 2022, where you posted your legal question using the $5 trial offer. When you came back recently to ask a new question, the site recognized you, and you would have been shown a Welcome Back page. JustAnswer is mainly a subscription service, so return customers are charged the monthly membership fee upfront, since they have already had a trial offer. Your $28 membership payment allowed you to post three questions with a total value of $60.
I see that your $28 payment has already been refunded for you. You should see the funds on your end in 3-5 business days.

This company is a scam. S**** these people. I NEVER agreed to paying a monthly subscription. I was only aware I was paying for 1 question. JUST 1. I did this all through text messages. I never agreed to a monthly plan or I would have canceled it. This company should really be shut down. I called for a resolution and was told by some foreign women who I couldn't understand that it was non refundable and that **** agreed to this. No I never did.It was thankfully only $138 since I caught it soon enough but others never notice until years go by sometimes. I'll never get a refund. I have never visited Justanswer website and never authorised taking any service from them. Yet somehow they charged my Debit Card a 1 GBP fee on June 9th, then 35 GBP on June 15 and another charge of 35 GBP on July 17. On asking their customer service why I am being charged for a service I never asked for or ever new about, I was asked to supply all my email accounts and bank card details and PayPal info. I was not ready to share this given they have already fraudulently charged me.Business Response

Recently my car broke down and since I am a single mother working 2 jobs just to support me and my 3 children when I saw the ad for Just Answer offering a $1 promotion to speak to a professional without having to call off of work or spend money getting my car towed from shop to shop and spending money I sadly cant afford to spend on diagnostics, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to get help and for a fraction of the cost. They say theyre transparent with this monthly charge but I was completely unaware and they refuse to give me a refund. So not only was I tricked out of money I actually dont have, I also was basically told by their specialist to take my car to a dealership to find out whats wrong with it. Its sad when multi-million dollar companies are tricking hard working people out of their money.Business Response

6/30/23. I came across "Just Answer" via ****** during a search for my lawn mower issue. I was told the charge would be $5.00 as an enticement for a first-time user. There was no mention of additional charges, nor did I authorize them. I was connected to someone who helped me with the issue. I even tipped him $10.00 for the help in a spirit of fairness. There was no mention of a $40.00 monthly membership fee. I cancelled my membership the SAME DAY after seeing the unauthorized membership charge. I am hereby demanding a refund of the $40.00 charged to my credit card. I did not and would not subscribe to a monthly fee.Business Response

On July 17, 2023, I responded to an internet ad for justanswers.com. I went to the website and saw that I could ask an attorney a question and get a reply via text for $5. The website looked legit and I went ahead and provided my bank card information. The attorney I texted did not spell things correctly and I was concerned this could be a fraudulent site. As I was texting the attorney, I received a call from my bank's fraud department asking about unusual activity on my bank card. I asked what they were concerned about and they said I had just been charged $5 AND I had also just been charged $60, and they asked if I had authorized these charges. I said NO, I only authorized the $5 charge. I immediately tried to resolve it via text with the person claiming to be an attorney. She said she had not been the one to charge me. I then attempted to get resolution from the justanswers.com customer service department. The online chat feature was automated. I called justanswers.com on the phone and was told that I had consented to a membership when I gave my bank info. I had NOT. So I cancelled my bank card and my "membership." I will have to get a new card and I am disputing the $60 charge. I would like a refund of the $60. I agreed to pay the $5 so I do not want that refunded.Business Response
