I had seen an advertisement online for a trial membership for $1 with Just Answer. However I was charged $1 and immediately $28. I didn't set out to sign up for a $28 membership. And they have been impossible to clear this up with. The whole reason for going to them in the first place is because it's Christmas time and I was seeking the worth of an antique I have so that I could have money for Christmas. And now I have even less money thanks to their false advertisement.Business Response

In April 2023, I was charged $81 by JUST ANSWER. I have no idea what this company is nor am I aware of any service I received. I filed a complaint with the credit card company and asked that the bill not be paid. I have received no explanation from the credit company other than being given a new account number for "fraud", which they cannot explain to me. Since May 2023, I have been billed $41 each month for something I do not/have not received. I am 75 and my husband is blind and 85. We do not have money to spend on a service we do not receive nor did we agree to pay this fee. I want my membership cancelled and a full refund. 10 Dec 2023 I was on a you tube search. and reading away and up pops Just Answer and after some more videos i see this give us the 2 dollars to transfer to technician.after a short wait they come back and say i have been charged ***** dollars. i immediatly got back to ***** on chat and disputed any charge that i had not agreed to. and also said this is terrible and looks like fraud and cancel all charges and that i hadn't agreed to open an account.Cancel acct and i will be reporting this scam to my cc company . On 12/31/22 I was desperate for veterinary help for a pet bird, and couldnt ********* from anyone local. I searched for help online and posed a question to a vet, and did not get any help other than to be told that my bird needed to go to a vet. I paid for this interaction and put it behind me. However, I had no idea that I was signed up for a monthly subscription service to Just Answer. I had to ****** Just Answer to even find out what it was. Ive had $31 withdrawn from my account per month since then, which adds up to a lot of money. Because the deductions were coming from Apple Pay, it was not as noticeable to me. I think its extremely predatory that this company can subscribe someone without them knowing. I asked a question on the website. The prompt came across asking for $1 to answer the question. I put my information into the site and was charged $46. I called immediately and asked why I was being charged that amount instead of the $1 asked. I was told that its $46 for the membership. The agent I spoke to kept cutting me off. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that they were helping other customers. I advised that I would hold so that I could speak to someone. I was told that there was no way to hold and since we were going in circles he was disconnecting the call and he hung up on me. I called back and was told that a supervisor would call in 20 to 30 minutes but still have not received a call. I feel as if I was scammed out of my money. I didnt mind paying the $1 asked for the question to be answered but I didnt ask for a recurring membership at $46 a month. December 8, I was trying to have a legal consultation about something. I found the website, and that was exactly what they advertised to be. After already giving out information, I was prompted to pay a "refundable" $5 fee. I was charged $5, and then $46. I talked to several people about it and was told there was nothing they could do. I signed up to ask one question about apartments for $5. The membership price was not $46, yet I was charged that rate in addition to the $5. This company is a scam. I signed up for a trial run because I only had one question but was charged the $46 (plus the initial $5) the same day I signed up. How is this possible?!
