Dec 12, I googled same a lawyer a question. I was talking to someone when I got bumped out to Just Answer page asking for a one time 5$ fee. I paid it. There was nothing visible about a monthly subscription of $46. I was charged $5 plus $46 as recurring payment. I immediately called and said it was a mistake. I was unaware, and only asked one short question. They said it was non refundable. Its a scam!Business Response

I was miss lead with pricing I was told there was a 5 dollar fee for the question I was asking only for me to be charged 5 dollars plus 46 dollars for a membership when I call he expressed that the joining fee was only 1 dollar and membership is 46 dollars. On 12/11 ****, I contacted Just Answers about a problem with my refrigerator. I knew it required immediate attention or the heating system would ruin it. I had a great experience with the technician who was assigned to me. I was quoted $5 to bring on the technician and then $24 to speak with him over the phone. All good! Then (like others complaining on BBB), I was somehow charged an additional $30 for a membership. Maybe I overlooked it, but it certainly wasnt obvious I was signing up for some membership to answer a single question I had already spent $29 on. Upon emailing them requesting a refund, I received multiple EXACT responses with out answering my request to speak to a manager about it. The site is clearly misleading, as others have stated. I would warn anyone against using this service because theres a good chance theyll find a way to hit you with one of these memberships that no one wants! I ended up being charged $59 for something I didnt need or ask for. The company is clearly aware of this, based on the number of similar complaints here. STAY AWAY!Business Response

I had a one-time question for JustAnswer.com, but the site asked that I pay for a month. Apparently the "membership" renewed without asking me, and I wasn't paying attention and six months later I realize that I have been paying $60 per moth for upwards of 6 months for a service that I wasn't using and didn't want. I do not approve of this kind of business practice. What would it take to send you an email asking if you want to renew and giving you the chance to decide? Or at least an email notifying you that you are being automatically renewed. I find it a very shady way to do business.Business Response

This website offers to answer a question using a lawyer they tell you to get the answer to your question is just $5 send you to a site to enter payment information and then back to the page to wait for an answer. Then you get an email saying not only have you been charged the $5 but also a $46 membership fee which will recur each month. NEVER did I see anything about $46 nor a actual membership prior to entering my credit card number. This charge is simply made without my knowledge. I would have never agreed to a membership nor $46 fee. I was solely under the impression that $5 would be charged in that moment in time to get my one question answered. December 10 2023 On December 10 2023 I needed my Apple password which I had forgotten, I googled how to retrieve my Apple password? Immediately I get a notice from JustAnswer letting me believe they work with Apple and they could fix my problem but first they needed the credit card details that is associated with our Apple Account because that might be the problem. Of course they never mentioned they were going to debit a flat annual fee and a monthly fee, which they did immediately and before providing me with any service whatsoever. I wrote back and said I didnt want their services at all, and yet the debits still appear. I Found the password myself no problem. The BBB are pros in call a spade a spade. I was told it would cost me $1.00 to track a package and they charged me $56.00 this happened on December 12,(today). I am on a fixed budget and I had ordered a package from a company called Christmasdecodis and I guess I was scammed there also for a total from them of $54.62. On Sunday December 10th I was trying to figure out why I was locked out of my ******** account and I somehow came across just answer. In the process of asking my question I was told there would be a $1 fee. It did not say anything about a month to month subscription. About 15 minutes later I went to the store and my card got declined. when I went to find out why I found that they had taken $46 out of my account plus the $1. When I immediately (less than an hour later) tried to contact them about this they gave me a generic answer saying that I signed up for the month to month billing which I would not have done for one question. $46 a month is a bit much for one question. I asked them about a refund and they said no. So then I went on ****** to read reviews about them and apparently this is something that they do on a regular. I feel like I was tricked out of $46.
