      I was having problems accessing my emails. My email account is through *****. I went on a ***** help website and began a chat with a representative who assessed my needs. She asked if I wanted to get technical support to help me with my issues and when I answered yes, she asked which method I would prefer, a phone conversation or an online chat. I told her whichever way was the cheapest. She sent me a text saying it would cost $5.00, totally refundable. I typed in my credit card details and instantly received a fraud alert. The amount being charged was $46.00, not $5.00. I opted to continue on with the chat, as I was in serious need of help. Big mistake. The help I was provided with was not worth $5.00, never mind $46.00. The tech, ****, did nothing to remedy my issue. The chat kept showing the line **** is working on your problem and then nothing happened. I finally typed in are you still there? Is this a scam? The next line that came across was one that asked me to rate the techs performance. It was ridiculous. I immediately started the process of disputing this charge on my credit card. I didnt realize until I received an email this morning from Justanswer and then looked them up online what a disreputable company I was dealing with. I pretty much thought I was going through the ***** help website, not realizing that theyd transferred me to this horrible Justanswer. After reading their history this morning, I know I wouldve never willingly gotten involved with a company such as this.

      I went to this website because it said you can ask any question for $5. I was charged the $5. Then a couple days later I was charged another $45 out of nowhere. This company did not disclose that they would be charging me an additional $45 or creating a membership in my name. I didn't even have an account. In order to cancel my membership I had to go in and create an account that I never had and cancel a membership that I didn't know about. When I went to the site to make a complaint with them directly, they just treated it as if I was asking a random question and was seeking the help of a professional that answers questions.

      I signed up for this site to have an appraisal done on an ****** ************** piece, I got to the chat bot and told them what I was seeking, they said they were sending me to a specialist and then the chat box froze and told me to refresh which I did multiple times, it also charged my card $33 when it said it was only a $5 REFUNDABLE charge. PLEASE REFUND ME ASAP!!

When you returned, you were greeted with a "Welcome Back" message and the pricing details for submitting a new question. The 'join fee' was not included as it was already paid during your first sign-up. With our monthly membership, you get unlimited questions in over 100 categories for 30 days, and you can cancel at any time. Alternatively, you can opt for pay-per-question billing if that better suits your needs.

      Furthermore, there is only $28 charge on your account which I have canceled for you. Your payment is showing as "reversed" on our end. This means we were able to cancel the transaction before the funds left your account. When this happens, the charge will just disappear from the account because it was never finalized. Additionally, your membership was canceled. Moving forward, you will not see any recurring membership charges.

      Deceptive Fees and Hidden Charges (September 18, 2025). The business was found via this ****** search result while in crisis with our pet during off hours: *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** No mention of cost, the ** Chatbot initiated dialog, asks for details and specifics and clarification thne says "I will connect you to the veterinarian now" then initiates pop-up windows mentioning $5 sign up fee and small print links for terms of service. The actual fee is $65 which I cancelled immediately when I recieved email from ****** (less than 10 hours after the crisis call).Designed to be intentionally vague and hidden

      I was chatting with an **** customer service person about a return of an item i ordered from *****Did not really understand the return process and also whete to send the return.Suddenly a popup comes and it asks for my credit card details. I thought i will get my refund as a credit to this credit card.Instead they charged me $ 40 and said i will get an answer. I never wanted an answer from Justanswer. Terrible. I just wanted an answer only from ******* not know how this popup came suddenly. Possibly connected to the chat session with ******* one should get this kind of treatment.I want my $ 40 refunded

      On 9/8/2025 I wished to contact my veterinarian to make an appt. for my pet to get a check-up. I did not have the phone number at hand and used a ****** search to look it up. I thought I had contacted my vet through one of the top links that came up. I was told that they were now giving appointments through this other service, which turned out to be **************************. (I now realize that I had inadvertently clicked on a misleading ****** ad from JustAnswer and was probably talking with them the whole time.) I was directed to download a JustAnswer app onto my phone and spoke with someone who said they would be happy to help me. But first I needed to pay a refundable $5 "join fee", so they needed my credit card information. They then assigned me a vet "expert" and asked several questions about my situation and that of my pet. I was told I would receive an answer soon. However, that did not happen. When I checked on my credit card account, I found charges from JustAnswer for $5 and $65. According to their membership details, the $65 was for a monthly membership fee, which would be charged each month. This was not revealed until after they had charged me for it, and if they had told me, I would never have agreed to a $65 monthly fee. I wish to ****** my membership and subscription and receive a refund for both charges to my card. I believe that I was mislead by JustAnswer and that a refund is warranted.

      I recently paid $5 to have a piece of art looked at by an appraiser on just answer for my parents. Today, I saw that I was charged $5 plus $55. When I tried to contact the company, they tried to get me to pay again. After going round and round and not being able to find an email confirmation or being able to log in, I was able to access it and cancel through downloading the app.When I finally was able to contact the company through the app, I received notice that I agreed to a membership. Upon looking further, when you agree to the $5 charge, it says you agree to the terms of the membership. But that info isnt listed in the same paragraph. When I went back today, the membership would be $30, not $55.This company has been involved in lawsuits for these practices and seems to have no intentions of changing them.

      I sure do wish I had checked this BBB before using this product!it is NOT clear that you are signing up for recurring costs. Additionally, it is NOT clear that the cost is $45 just to ask a question. The chat bot was responsive and the exchange was fine, but they weren't able to help me. I was willing to just eat the high price for a simple exchange (because I didn't do more homework) but sneaking in this "not at all clear" monthly charge and refusing to refund it is unacceptable to me.

      Today, 09/18/25 I reached **************************'s page dues to a search on the value of a collectable. I was immediatly faced with a chat window to ask my question. After answering questions about age, condition and unusual characteristics, I was told for a $5 refundable fee, I could be connected with an "expert" to evaluate my item. After I entered my credit card info, the chatbot asked if I wanted and "answer now or would I mind waiting a little while?" I said "now" but suddenly noticed the time it was taking. So I immediatly went to my credit card account and saw the "pending" $65 charge. I quickly closed the web page and called my cc company where I was told I can't dispute the chatge until it posts. I reopened Just Answer's web page and went into the chat, said I was charged $65 instead of the $5 and I want my money back. I was told it was a "non refundable membership fee!" They NEVER mentioned a membership fee. I said I want my money refunded. They refused and said they could cancel my membership. I said cancel and they closed the chat on me somi ildnt respond. That all within 30 minutes of the initial contact. I've gotten several emails saying "my expert is ready to answer my questions. I have terminal cancer, I dont need this battle too! I want my $65 refunded!
