I asked a question for which I offered 5 dollars and some change. There was no part of the process where I could notice that said I would incur a 28 dollar a month charge. Just Answer is a scam! I was on Amazon website buying an item. I was charged extra so there was an option to speak to a live representative. Im assuming its still with Amazon. It asks for card info pertaining to the sale. This in order to look up my purchase. Next thing I know Im getting charged $52.00 for an answering service? I called Amazon and they said they are not affiliated with Just Answer. I tried contacting someone at Just Answer and would not connect me to anyone. I reached out to a website called Just Answer for help with a medical question. I was immediately connected to an AI assistant who asked questions related to my concerns and was then directed to pay a fee of $5 in order to speak directly to an available doctor. After waiting for some time I was then connected to, who I assume was a real ******* ******************* The online conversation was brief and I wasnt given any helpful information besides it could be this or it could be that, please see your doctor. I thanked the doctor for their time and ended the chat. The following day, I noticed that I was charged the $5 fee as well as an additional charge of $43 for a monthly subscription. I agreed to the $5 but I did NOT agree to nor sign up for a monthly subscription. The medical AI assistant did not mention a monthly subscription requirement nor was there any confirmation that I was now a monthly subscriber. This company is being dishonest and taking advantage of those in a vulnerable position who may need an answer as soon as possible depending on the situation. I inquired for a question on antique appraisal on February 18th,and paid a small fee of I think $5..never signed up for subscription. Received an email on June 18..4 months later informing me that an auto payment to just answer was being processed. It is the first email I have seen. I can only assume the others went into a spam folder. It says they have been withdrawing since March 20th! I cancelled immediately so no more would come out....but $200 to ask a question in February...very, very misleading and in my eyes very bad business!Business Response

In March, 2023, SF Chronicle sent me to JustAnswer for a missed delivery. I had to pay $1 on a card to join. JustAnswer never helped, but charged me the monthly fee ($55) 3/31/23. When they charged me a second time (4/30/23), I objected to my credit union, which dropped the charge and cancelled my debit card. Every regular charitable contribution I make consequently stopped. (This necessitated hours of work to restart contributions on a new card). I complained to JustAnswer; they agreed on a refund, JA190193. It never arrived.Business Response

Since we initiated the cancellation of your deposit so quickly, only an authorization of funds was processed. An authorization is a hold that your card issuer places on your funds and is not an actual charge. You will not receive a credit back to your account since a charge was not processed, but the authorization shown on your card statement should drop off your account by the time you receive your next billing statement, and it'll be as if the transaction never occurred.

On March 11, 2064 I went to an internet sight to ask a veterinary question. Accordingly I paid a fee of $1 and was charged an additional $28. and unknowingly was signed up for an renewing monthly account. Since then I have been charged $28 dollars a month April thru June. On June 20, I canceled my account with *********************** LLC, hopefully negating any additional charges. I contacted the **************** today June 21, and was able to get a refund of $28. In my opinion this is inadequate and while not asking for the entire $112 to be refunded I think an additional $56 dollars would be fair as just using the JusrAnswers site you are automatically signed up for a renewing monthly account and charge.Business Response

We apologize if there was any misunderstanding or confusion as to how our membership is acquired, but only the customer can enroll in one of our membership plans, it's never done automatically by the site. There are a few places the customer has to click in order to enroll in a membership plan.
Although JustAnswer's terms of service state that there is a no refund policy, as a courtesy to you, we've refunded the requested membership payments. They should show back in your account within 3-4 days, maybe sooner depending on your credit processor.

I contacted GE Appliances to speak to service. The JustAnswer hijacked with my conversation with GE and charged me $5 and was literally non-responsive to my questions about how that happened and refused to provide a refund even though I did not use their service. There is no way to complain directly to them or obtain a refund. I feel defrauded by this company, and the fact that I have no recourse or ability to obtain a refund despite not having used their service is completely unacceptable.
