Today, August ******* I called Maytag repair. They either transferred me or this outfit squirmed in. They said it would be $5 for information and said I needed to give them my credit card. They billed BOFA immediately and thankfully the bank declined the charge. Then they billed $30..I was notified by BOFA.We have had to cancel our credit card. Will need to notify all automatic deposits and automatic withdrawals.This is a nightmare for us.We feel bait and switch was a tactic here. In approximately December 2023, I was having a problem with my home thermostat and went online to obtain help. I found Just Answer who offered suggested troubleshooting but for a fee that I thought was a one time fee. My credit card is automatically deducted from my account; therefore, I did not notice until months later that they were deducting a monthly amount of $28.00. I have not used their service since the initial request and I feel I was scammed and they did not make it clear that I would be billed monthly for the one time. use.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I feel that your notification of the recurring charges that will be incurred once you agree to the one time help is not apparent and actually deceitful practices. Moreover, it was not made clear that I was agreeing to continue to pay a monthly fee. If someone is accessing your form it is in their time of need and your organization knows This and chooses to take advantage by slipping in hey were going to keep charging you. I used the device that day and because I feel your practices are deceitful I would like the charges reversed starting when the monthly charge began in November until now. I was unaware that I had been enrolled by Just Answer in this company's a service starting in October of 2019 that automatically billed me 28 dollars a month from my checking account without being notified that this would be a recurring charge. Yesterday, August 22, 2014 I was tracking a purchased product and got panic when I saw that it was delivered 9 days ago, at the bottom of that page there was an option to chat with online expert 24/7 and a technician will answer your question, I thought this is a service with the delivery company so I wrote my question. They answered me that a technician will answer my inquiry but I have to pay only $2 that are fully refundable, and they did not mentioned anything about any other fees or monthly membership. I entered my credit card info (for only a refundable $2 as they said). when I reviewed my bank account after that I found a transaction of $66 + $2 by justanswer.com. When I inquired about this weird transaction, I received an email that I agreed to join monthly membership (which never happened). I replied to this email that I never consented to join monthly membership, but they refused to refund me. I did some research about this company, I found that many other people got scammed same way. I went today to their website and cancelled this membership that I never consented for to avoid further monthly withdrawal. Please help to get my refund.Business Response

I was looking for information in regard to asking the *** questions. One of the first sites that appeared was JustAsk. I mistakenly thought this was a part of the ***. The issue with JustAsk is - the site asked for $5 refundable fee to ask a question - to see if it made sense. They wanted a credit card number for the $5. I filled in the information. I got to ask a question. I did not get a satisfactory response. I checked my credit card account and found they charged me $55. I asked ******* about the added money. They said I had (involuntarily) signed up for their monthly service at $50/mo. They said I could cancel but they did not want to refund anything. I cancelled their service immediately - they say I paid until September 23, 2024. Trying to contact their customer service put in a loop back to the original contact. The company is misleading in their contact information. I am seeking a refund of at least $50. They should stop their deceptive practices.Business Response
