      Customers are told in writing that they will be charged only $5 for an appraisal, but are then charged an additional $55 without the customer's knowledge or consent. I have a screenshot and a screen recording of an appraiser confirming the cost will only be $5 for an appraisal.

      I contacted what I though was my local *** with a question about license renewal and was transferred to an attorney at Just an Answer. I was told there would be a one-time $5 charge to get an answer to my question. I just noticed that they have been charging my credit card $55 monthly since then. I was not told about any of this. I am a senior on limited income and think this is a disgrace to be misled like this by a company.

      On September 4th, I clicked on a search engine ad for Just Answer while attempting to find solutions for a plumbing problem. The home page of the website did not mention anything about pricing, and directed me to a chatbot that took me through a series of questions (Name, problem, specific questions about the problem). Once it had gathered this information, it offered me a link to get an answer for this problem for a fee of $5. I clicked on the link and was brought to a payment screen where I selected ******. There were NO ****************** or additional information about the pricing. After hitting "Pay" I noticed that I was charged $70 and immediately asked the chatbot why I was charged more than $5. The chatbot then explained that the additional $65 was for the monthly membership. At no point before this was I informed about that charge. I canceled the membership and reached out to their customer support line, where I was informed that I was not eligible for reimbursement. Following this call, I was refunded the full amount, so I am happy with the resolution - but still feel that this was misleading advertising, and having come to BBB to report it, I see I am not alone.

      This company is fraud. They got my Cc and started charging 60usd per month without my authorization. It has been a year of 60usd monthly charges i just found out about in my bank statements. I called the number provided by my Bank to let them (justanswer) know this charges are an error and i require my money back. The person on the line stated they could only cancel the "Membership" and reinsburse the last monthly payment and hung up after i requested to speak to a Manager. They hire foreigners to answer their customer complaints. This is 100% fraud! I've never requested a Membership from this Company.

      I was attempting to cancel my ****** Workspace account, and searched for support, and their page popped up with chat for and message " I understand you want to cancel your ****** Workspace account, is that right? " So, I thought it was actually ****** Workspace. The form indicated that I should pay a "completely refundable" $5 to continue with a Tech Specialist. Again, I thought they were ****** Workspace helping me cancel mu account. They charged my ****** account $45.       Although, I was fully refunded by the company after informing them of the steps I was taking to file complaints and get my refund, I am rejecting this response because: Company states in reply "When you posted your question, you signed up for our monthly membership, ..." Since when does any reputable company automatically sign up a person for a $45 monthly membership simply because they posted a question; and, without notifying them as such in advance of them posting the question? They misled me by stating that a $5 fee for completing the form would be refunded, then charged my card $45 for a recurring subscription. Also, this company attempted to debit another of my bank cards and I have no idea how they got the card information. My bank rejected the debit as potential fraud and cancelled my card. Now, I have two bank cards cancelled due to their fraud, and have to wait for replacements. Their website may be polished, but this company is definitely committing scams and fraud. It is clear that all of their positive reviews are from associates in their, very sophisticated, fraudulent schemes.

      I am rejecting this response because these people are experts at intellectual rhetoric; masking fraudulent intentions that preys on the less intelligent or aware. I am impressed with this verbal skill, but not with their lies! My only regret is that I did not copy, or take a screen shot, of the actual text presented on their initial page. This is the most dangerous form of thievery; obviously, highly educated and intelligent people choosing to commit fraud and scams, rather than use their knowledge to create and produce something of actual value to others. 

      Thank God for the BBB and similar organizations. Unfortunately, this type of fraud can not be stopped.

      Was seeking an attorney for legal issues regarding autistic Son and his residency. We live on **************. Received a reply from a California attorney telling us to look for a local Attorney. Immediately called help desk . No solution. Why would they give me an Attorney on the other side of country. Do not need them . 65 Dollar fee for what?

      On 9/3/2025, I responded to a ****** search for ** appliance help. I assumed that I was contacting the ********** and I paid the $5 support fee with my credit card. Before I had an answer, I received another e-mail from JustAnswer which I did not see saying that I was being charged $48 for a membership fee. I did not even have a chance to give or deny approval.

      I was looking for poison control for my dog and their site came up. I had to pay $75 dollars before I even spoke to someone, while the Vet and the tech I was connected with were knowledgeable and helpful with my situation, I didnt sign up for a subscription. It was a one time thing. Now that Im trying to cancel they are telling me by asking questions I am agreeing to the subscription! I dont even have a login password because I never set up an account.

      Like others who filed a complaint, this JustAnswer app / site indicated that it would be $5 to ask a question of an expert. Then my card was charged nearly $70. I wanted an answer from a real estate attorney. The expert who contacted me said they were an attorney, but absolutely gave no answer to me about my situation. In fact, they abandoned the chat. I started to chat with them (one comment total) and suddenly they stepped responding after they asked me one question. I had to call their Customer Support line and ask them to reconnect us. Then when they did reconnect me, the supposed Expert asked me if wanted a referral to a local attorney. Then he disappeared from the chat again and never got back to me. I called Customer Support again and told them what happened and asked for my money back. Im supposedly getting a refund in 3 to 5 days. But Im not sure that will even happen. I did not receive expert advice as they advertised. I got two questions from the Expert, and that was it. The first question was where was I located, and I had already provided that information in my initial request. The second question was whether I wanted help with referral to a local attorney, when the expert was an attorney themselves - supposedly. This seems like a big scam. Finally, they had me set up for recurring payments for a subscription that I never agreed to. I canceled that subscription on their website within an hour. So hopefully I dont get recurring payments. I dont trust this site at all.

      I paid a $53 fee for IT advice that I never received. I also thought I was only going to pay $5, then suddenly it appeared as $53 fee, with a one time $5 payment, and a monthly RECURRING $48 fee. When I went to their website (**************************) and tried to sign up for an account, it told me there was already an account with that email. When I then tried to reset my password and followed the steps to do so, the website said it was unable to do that at this time. I feel very strongly that the fee process is very misleading, and that the company had no intention of giving me any IT assistance.
