OpenAI Global, LLC et al.The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government's allegations, which have not yet been proven.On June 1, 2026, the Florida Attorney General filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Tenth Judicial Circuit, Highlands County, Florida, against OpenAI and four affiliated entities, along with CEO and Co-Founder Sam Altman.The State alleges that OpenAI marketed its ChatGPT product as safe and reliable despite risks to users, including minors. Among the allegations: ChatGPT provided unreliable and potentially dangerous information, lacked meaningful age verification or parental consent mechanisms, was designed with features encouraging prolonged and compulsive use, and collected personal information from children without complying with federal children's privacy requirements.The complaint includes claims under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, negligence, gross negligence, strict liability, fraudulent misrepresentation, and public nuisance. The State seeks injunctive relief, civil penalties, damages, and other remedies.The case is currently pending.
