      Contacted ventra to get a refund on my account since I havent used it in about three years. Called the first time and spoke to ***** a supervisor and he told me I couldnt get a refund unless I moved out of state. He didnt want to help me out further and just said its policy. Called again and spoke to another agent and she told me a refund cannot be refunded, I asked what would happened if I closed account entirely but she said the money would just sit there not being used. She ended up escalating my concern to management after requesting. Waiting on management to contact me back.

      I was charged for 3 - $75 passes when I only wanted 1 pass. After calling them they stated they cannot refund my money. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was denied. Now I am in jeopardy of having additional fees on my credit card as this was an unexpected expense that could cause me to not be able to pay my monthly bill and then incur late fees, and interest. Please help.

      Accidentally made a purchase through the app due to what seems like some sort of glitch. Called and emailed several times and told its too bad and I have to deal with the financial loss.

      On 05/31/2023 I called Ventra customer service number ************* at about 7:20am Central Time *** to cancel card as I was planning to no longer use there service. I had a unused 7-day pas that cost $20 and I wanted a refund. They Female representative was rude , kind of raised voice and said calm down we don ** do refunds. She also interrupted me and didn** let me speak. I am asking for a refund and that it be refund back to the card ending in **** that I used to purchased the 7-day pass. I am beyond frustrated that I had to take time from work to file this complaint online about Ventra. I believe and feel that they should also send me a FREE Ventra card with a 7-day pass for inconvenience, pain & suffering, and the headache cause by me having to go through this process filing this complaint. I will not accept anything less that what I requested. Thanks in advance.

      I tried to purchase 2 paper ventra tickets. They are 5 dollars each. Only recieved one ticket and a reciept that stated this. The reciept stated i would get refunded the 5 dollars. Ventra charged my credit card 10 dollars. I spoke to customer service and gave them all the information. I called back on February 14 2023 and they told me the machine was working perfectly and that no refund would be given.

      Ventra is the only provider for CTA transportation in *******. They require pre-pay balance amounts. If you attempt to cancel, the do not refund your balance (which seems illegal) unless you move out-of-state.I DID move out of state, filled out the required forms for a refund, provided copies of DL in both states (way more info than should be necessary - a privacy concern too.) After emailing with the company and being told it would take 4 weeks to process refund, it has now been 10 months and I still have not received a refund. The company also does not respond to my emails.NO other company that I've been a customer refuses to return pre-paid balances. This is also not divulged up-front. The ***************, and other cities, should file a lawsuit against Ventra for refusing to provide refunds on pre-paid balances.I want my refund. I want others to get the refunds they deserve -- it's the CUSTOMOMER'S money, not Ventra's.

      Dear BBB I was approved to receive a refund of $351.25 for the balance on my Ventra CTA card due to moving out of state. Ventra's notification of sending the refund to my new address was sent on August 26, 2022, per the attached email from Ventra. I have still not received the refund check that Ventra claims they sent, but Ventra has cleared my card balance without returning my funds. Please help me either obtain the $351.25 refund that Ventra said would be sent to my new address or put the money back on my Ventra card, as it was good until **** and I may return to *******. Ventra has been uncooperative in responding to my inquiries and after notifying me that they sent the refund to my address provided in the attached refund request form, when I called them recently they now claim that they sent the refund to my former employer. My former employer, ****** Airlines, has no knowledge of this and I did not authorize Ventra to send my refund to an employer I haven't worked at in several years. Ventra clearly stole my money. I asked Ventra for proof that they sent my refund of $351.25 to my old employer, but they could not do so. I have no way of obtaining the refund from my former employer if they actually did send it there. Please have Ventra send the refund of $351.25 to my address as they promised on August 26, 2023 or return the balance to my Ventra card (# ***** ***** ***** **** that expires 1/****)Thank you,

      10/6/2022 was the last date my ventra card was lost/stolen. I went to their website to report it stolen or lost but was not allowed to select my card as it was a ****************** ventra card and auto load was disabled instead.10/8/2022 ventra was called but since the offices were closed, a message was left behind. 10/15/2022 an auto load went through despite being disabled, payment method had to be changed to a temporary card and removed to finally not be charged.10/16/2022 an online ticket was created and submitted to the ventra portal to report the card missing and balance being used.10/16/2022 ventra offices were called and another message was left in reference to the balance and card being taken from the account.10/30/2022 ventra called and left a message letting owner know issue can be resolved by going online and adjusting it there or to call back and get it resolved.10/30/2022 immediately called and was met with closed offices unable to get in contact to resolve the issue.11/6/2022 Thief uses card final time putting balance into negative ending the spending spree.11/15/2022 had to get time off work to be able to call customer service to get the account closed, ventra would not be restoring the balance or pursuing the lost card. Only recourse is to pay for another card.

      On 10/8/22 i purchased a Ventra 3 day pass for CTA to ride bus/trains while on a trip to *******. My card was charged the $15 for the 3 day pass and through the app I was told it would activate with the first swipe to board a bus or train. My card never activated through my apple wallet and I was denied multiple times for public transit. I attempted to add another $5 to the card to see if I could use the electronic card for a one time purchase. I was again denied through my apple wallet. 3 out of 4 people in my party were not able to use the app even though we all signed up the same way and were charged for the services. We attempted to contact the business directly to active the cards and after the third number we reached an actual representative. The representative blamed iPhone updates and how now some people arent able to use the card but could not offer much more information. We asked for a refund due to having a short trip and not being able to use the cards. After being placed on hold the representative said they could in fact issue a refund but would need our credit card information again. I explained I was uncomfortable giving out card information over the phone when the company had obviously charged an account to begin with. I never received a refund for the $20 spent and still cannot use the card.
