I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the business practices of a company called Superlative, with whom I had been a loyal client for several years.Initially, I entered into a two-year contract with Superlative and fulfilled that commitment without issue. After the initial contract period, I was resold the service on a month-to-month basis, which I continued for several more years. At one point, I paused the service for approximately three months but then resumed, as I had decided to continue in the business.Roughly five years later, after retiring and relocating, I informed Superlative of my intention to discontinue their services. I provided them with a 30-day notice, which I believed to be sufficient given our month-to-month arrangement. However, they responded by stating that I was required to give six monthsor morenotice, a term that was never presented or agreed upon in our contract.Despite my long-term patronage, Superlative has now sent my account to collections over this matter. I find this not only troubling but also indicative of questionable and potentially predatory business practices. To treat a long-standing client in such a manner is, quite frankly, shameful.I believe this situation merits public attention and review, and I hope the *** can investigate or bring awareness to such customer treatment. I would be happy to provide additional correspondence upon request.Thank you for your time and consideration.Initial Complaint

The company had been sending letters claiming that I owe them ****** for a website that they supposedly created for me. They failed to demonstrate that the site was ever active, that there was any traffic to the site and any other evidence that there was even a contract for them to build the site. There is significant evidence to prove that this company is a scam. When asked for evidence of a contract, the link to the site and additional support that they performed any of the allegedly contracted work bare minimum and potentially fraudulent information was provided. In fact, they attempted to provide manufactured evidence, such as a pdf of a first page of a contract with no signature page and a copy of a picture of a website with information and photos that were taken way after the alleged contract start date. They even claimed that the link surprisingly is no longer active as of April 2025, how convenient. Moreover, as evidence of their fraudulent activities, I dont even own the domain name associated with this alleged website and have not owned it for a couple of years. In addition, they made no attempt to reach out to me by phone until these threatening letters. The last response received was a threatening letter saying that if I do not pay in full, they will forward this to a collections ********* clarify:No contract was ever agreed upon or signed by ***** work was performed or delivered by the company. The website in question was not operational or functional at any point, and thus no services of value were rendered. There is substantial evidence indicating misrepresentation and potential fraudulent intent surrounding this matter.Given these facts, their claim is baseless and unenforceable and I request that this alleged debt be canceled with nothing attached to my credit.Initial Complaint

I had this company help me with my website a few years ago. When my business partner found a better option I called them to cancel. They said I had another 11 months on my contract, so I agreed to pay the additional 11 months that day (in order to cancel the service). They charged my card for the 11 months, but never cancelled the account. I've called and sent letters, but they refuse to cancel my account. They are a very bad business with no ethics.Initial Complaint

Business with Superlative website services was cancelled prior to 10/1/2024. However, Superlative continued to fraudulently charge a credit card account even after the credit card number was changed to prevent this charge. The credit card company was advised. California state Automatic Renewal Law (ARL) in force since 2022 prohibits Superlative from fraudulently charging credit cards after their services are no longer provided. The credit card company cooperated with our actions. The number of BBB complaints, civil legal actions and potential criminal complaints on the internet are numerous.Initial Complaint

Superlative is committing fraud. They are using their database to extort money out of past clients. They are using a piece of paper I signed in 2013...it is now 2024...I cancelled & no service was rendered for the period if time they are trying to extort out of me. I not only cancelled .... they are unaware of new laws regarding subscription ************************ ...Superlative just might end up paying out instead of getting paid... This is a case for the District Attorney. Some might just pay to make the fraudulant charges go away...but I am not one of them. I still believe in right & wrong....Initial Complaint

I signed an agreement with Superlative in November 5, 2023 and as soon as they received my first payment that's when things went south fast. It took them a month and a half to get my site up and connected to the *** feed. They were very slow to respond to communication from my ***. From the beginning of my process with them, I tried endlessly to talk to someone on the phone, left messages, called my *** who signed me up, sent emails. I never got a return phone call and the emails were not responded to promptly. Beginning on 2/10/2024, I started emailing the tech person for help with my website. He responded initially and then stopped. It was over a month before a heard from anyone. The *** wanted to know when we could set up a time to talk. Another month went by which put us into April, 2024. I didn't get any help with my website and promoting of my listings, and the information on the site was false and inaccurate. That's when I informed them I wanted to cancel immediately. I received a phone call and was told I wasn't allowed to cancel because I signed a contract. I explained that I had been reaching out for months for help and nobody got back to me. Their excuse was those ***s were no longer with the company. I have paid Nove, 2023 through May, ***************************************************************************************************************************************************** bills to pay from June, 2024 to Dec, 2024 in the amount of $313.70 and threatening to bring me to collections if not paid. This is fraud and a scam. This company should be held to standards and if they make arrangements to deliver a product and don't it shouldn't be forced on the customer to continue to pay. I attempted countless times and when I had zero response I gave up. I am a REALTOR and information that goes out to the public needs to be accurate and timely. This is not acceptable at all! We have a code of ethics to follow and so should these businesses.Initial Complaint

I had contract Superlative to build and host my real estate website. Not sure what year I contracted with them, but they had been the host until I contacted them in December 2023 to cancel. Specifically, I had contacted Superlative in December 12 2023 to cancel my website. They would not agree to this request as I was 12 days past my renewal. I never knew I had an automatic renewal nor is there anywhere on my contract that reflects a renewal date. On their E-registration form that they had mailed to me after my request, there is no contract date, and there is no expiration date. Superlative did send me a copy of the contract to me to show me their policy of contract renewal roll-over and written on it is the date 1.1.21 which, if this is the actual contracted date, is well within the time they need to cancel my website. In December I repeatedly called Superlative, sent emails and left voicemails all of which has gone unanswered. In my last email to them in December 2023 I stated that if I do not hear from someone, I will consider this case closed. Now we are in September 2023, and I received a letter from the ****************** stating that I owe $508.43 (which makes no sense sine I $44.95 per month to host). Nevertheless, I spoke with someone there named ***** on 9/4/24 who hung the phone up. This is not the first time this has happened with the company. I also called them back in May and the same thing happened then too. As of this date there still has been no resolve.I need help from the BBB and the California Department of Consumer Affairs to clear this up. I do not wish to work with a company that has not fulfilled their end of the contract (they were supposed to provide IDX support which feeds all my active/solds listings but they have not), Again, my business no longer needs website support.Initial Complaint

Around Jan-Feb of 2023, I found my website was down. I tried to contact Superlative, no response. Fine, i was like okay, they were out of business maybe? Sure, I would seek my own solutions, all good. I didn't need that website anymore, I just transfer my email. FYI 1: my site was NEVER up since then. Then, on Jan 25th of 2024, I found out that my monthly charges were never stopped. They still existed! I then called and politely express my request to cancel the service. FYI 2, I stopped using their since a year before that day! Then they were sure but we need to confirm with you. I said I confirm NOW! I wanna cancel period. Then the fun game started. They never picked up their phone. I called in another 2 times, their customer service refused to transfer me to cancellation but asked me have to wait for their call! And guess what, I was kept on being billed by them. They never contacted me again and I could never get a hold of them. Now they sent me a email saying it is going to collections. Seriously, someone needs to do something about this company.Initial Complaint

On approx. Jan 16, 2023 I tried contacting Superlative customer service via phone and email because my website was down and apparently had been down since at least Dec. 23,2022. In March of 2023 I finally was able to speak with someone and requested that my account be cancelled because I did not have use of my website for 3 months. Since then they have periodically sent me bills trying to collect fees for a service I didn't receive. The reviews on ****** and the better business bureau all point to this company being a fraud. Please help me as I am a senior citizen on a limited income and I would like them to stop harassing me for fraudulent claims.Initial Complaint

I signed an agreement with Superlative in July 2022 and immediately they failed to deliver. The website did not incorporate what they promised to me and what I had communicated to my clients. They immediately negatively impacted me. I offered to pay more to have custom work completed - no response. In the first couple months they would set meetings with me to train me to use the site and not show up. They said they would make updates and wouldn't make them. I changed the name of my business (to a DBA) and they wouldn't respond to update the logo, name, domain or anything. Within 3 months I told my contact that I was unhappy and it wasn't working. I let her know I wanted to cancel. I understood I committed to a 12 month contract and was happy to meet my commitment, pay out what I owed and then move on. My contact stopped responding, completely. I hired a whole other company to build me my own website. Approximately 4 weeks before the end of my contract term *** contacts me. Tells me my contact was no longer w/ the company. I communicated to him that I had conveyed my desire to cancel my contract with her. He tells me that because I am within 30 days and he cannot find my prior contacts communications, that I will be enrolled in another 12 month commitment. When I provided logic and evidence, he went RADIO SILENT. I emailed and called as many people in Superlative as possible - NO ANSWERS. Their entire system was down for several weeks, no web sites were working (which happened repeatedly), noone answering phones or emails. In December I contacted my bank for guidance - there was no website up, it was not the right branding (due to DBA), which could cost me my license for my business - they were nonresponsive. The bank advised me to flag it as fraud - which it is (no service and no communication), and to change my cards to avoid future charges. Today, 5/8, I received an invoice for 12/23-07/24 w/ a pay by 5/7 date! And being sent to collections. It is such a SCAM.
