    I let them know of my potential ineligibility for their services, but they assured me that they consider all cases due to various federal programs.They told me of a plan to file an offer in compromise which would erase my debt to just a few hundred dollars. After calling the *** they never filed the offer in compromise they lied to me and robbed me of my money. The senior tax analyst provided no new information and spoke to me extremely rough and rude telling me a payment is the only option and that my money is gone . After promising my debt to be erased they charged me 2350 dollars. the only service they did was put me on a payment plan which I could have done myself for free I was robbed and taken advantage of. I feel exploited and dissatisfied with the service.

    I had spoken to ******* ******* at Taxrise and after A LOT of convincing, I finally agreed to try them out to settle my tax debt but told him that I could not pat the initial.$375.00 until AFTER a trip that I HAD to take first. He stated that he understood but in order to get the process started he had to have a debit or credit card on file. I gave him my number to the card that I get my child support on and told him that I would call AFTER my I got back from the trip AFTER May 14th to make that payment. Taxrise instead TOOK that payment out of my account on APRIL 26TH, which makes this an unauthorized transaction, so I called the bank that uses the cards for child support and filed a claim. The bank SUSPENDED THE TRANSACTION while they investigated it. Ultimately they denied my claim stating that even though they took the payment early, I did still authorize it. And they released the funds BACK TO TAXRISE. BUT....Taxrise, is still saying that the bank took that money back. And I have verified with the bank that they did not. The bank said that they NEVER "TAKE" money back during an investigation, they only suspend the transaction. So Taxrise has to have that money in their system someplace. I have attempted to contact them several times to resolve this issue with ZERO RESPONSE FROM THEM. I WANT MY MONEY BACK FROM THEM. THEY ARE A SCAM!!!

    I attempted, ONCE AGAIN, to contact ****, this time who left me a voice mail supposedly from Taxrise in their finance **** to try to resolve this issue he told me to call back to ********************* and when i did, it goes straight to a fake busy signals because the number is not valid!! Again, I want a full refund and will no longer accept any attempts at resolving this issue. If this  company attempts to contact me, I will file harassment charges and fraud charges. FULL REFUND!!!

    I attempted to reach the company at the number provided in that message and it switches straight to a busy type of signal which indicates that it is a fake number that  businesses use just to get you off their backs. I do not wish to speak to anyone at this company they are scammers. I want a full return if my money.

    I tried last year when this first occurred to receive a refund from the company, reached out to my initial contact and support but after they knew I was upset about the outcome of everything and basically being duped they ignored me. Up until recently I started receiving texts from them continuing to fear ****** me and it reminded me that I never received that refund so this is my next option. I was trying to get my tax affairs in order and found taxrise and they quickly got me on the phone for an hour plus painting a picture of them taking care of all these things for a small payment of 375. Okay that makes sense so I paid them and began filling out all my info only to be surprised at yet another grandiose price tag to continue services. I felt completely duped in that first conversation and was never told flat out how they do things and I should expect to pay wayyy more than the at initial fee. And that was after I brought him down from 500. I was upset and got on the phone with this guy only for him to try to use scare tactics to keep my business and have me hand over more money. I said no and he tried bringing his boss into it and then team up on me. Im not about it. Left a horrible taste in my mouth. Not the kind of people I want to invest my money in. I tried reaching out to this guy about a refund and then crickets! They did absolutely nothing for me but looking me up. And since spamming me. I need a refund.

    We, are formally requesting a full refund of all money paid to TaxRise for services that were agreed upon but ultimately not rendered. The total amount we are requesting to be refunded is $14,613.35.The purpose of the payments made to TaxRise was to resolve our outstanding tax debt with the ************************ (IRS) through their advertised Fresh Start Program. Specifically, TaxRise was supposed to prepare our back taxes for the 2023 tax year and negotiate an installment agreement with the *** on our behalf.Unfortunately, the services that were promised were not completed. After nine months of waiting, our assigned Tax Preparation Coordinator, ***** ****, informed us that TaxRise would be unable to complete our 2023 tax return and advised us to contact our previous tax preparer instead. Additionally, TaxRise failed to set up any installment agreement with the **** leaving our tax situation unresolved.We are requesting this refund because the services outlined in the original agreement were never fulfilled. In fact, instead of progress toward a resolution, we recently received a Notice of Intent to **** from the **** further demonstrating that no action had been successfully taken on our ********** addition to the $14,113.35 financed payment made through a loan company recommended by TaxRise, we also paid an additional $500.00 fee on June 13, 2024, for what was called a ************************** Despite these payments, the results promised were not delivered.We would also like to point out that TaxRise advertises a guarantee to its resolution clients, ensuring that if services are not delivered as promised, clients would be eligible for a full refund. We respectfully request that you honor this guarantee and refund the total amount paid.Given the circumstances, we trust that TaxRise will act with integrity and process our full refund promptly. We look forward to your timely response and resolution to this matter.

    Follow up on our ongoing complaint, which remains unresolved as of today.
    Yesterday I reviewed the settlement agreement that TaxRise provided. While it addresses certain aspects of our dispute, it does not state that we will be released from responsibility for the outstanding loan once we sign. Because the loan was arranged at TaxRises direction to cover service fees that were never delivered, this point is critical for us.
    Could you please:
    Confirm in writing that the loan will be cancelled in full and we will have no further liability once the agreement is executed.
    Provide a revised agreement (or an addendum) that explicitly includes this provision.
    We are eager to bring this matter to a close, but we cannot proceed until the loan obligation is clearly addressed.

    We hired TaxRise to help resolve our *** tax debt, paying them $10,500 with the expectation of professional help and resolution. We already had a $600/month payment plan with the *** when TaxRise advised us to stop paying it, assuring us there would be no lien or asset seizure. Based on their direction, we halted payments and paid TaxRise $1,000/month instead and they would help us reach a settlement with the *** and claimed to do this all the time for their ********** a result of this advice, a $63,000 lien was placed on our home due to accrued interest and penalties. Their guidance sent us into a panic. Ultimately, we were forced to refinance our home and withdraw $77,000 in equity to resolve the debt devastating our credit and finances. The situation was worsened, not improved, by working with TaxRise.We understand we owed back taxes due to previous filing mistakes and unpaid taxes. That is why we were proactive in seeking help. But TaxRise took our money and left us in a far worse financial situation. Their advice was negligent, misleading, and costly. We believe we were misled and scammed, and we respectfully request a full refund of the $10,500 paid. We believe we deserve a refund and punitive damages.

    ***** ****** was on the phone with me and my wife. We discussed our *** debt and things started to fall apart when I started asking valid questions and concerns for the services. Such as what proof there was for the total of my IRS debt and what we owe. I mean h*** lur 2023 taxes havent even been processed so how the h*** do they even know what we owe for that year. We disclosed about the cost of the services and a payment arrangement but what wasn't disclosed was there was gonna be outsource financing with another company named **** (**********************************). Running my credit was never brought up in the conversation and now have i have a hard inquiry on my credit report. ***** ****** was pretty persistent talking with my wife rather than me. He vaguely wanted me to call **** confirm the agreement and proceed getting help with our debt but left out the agreement was only for financing contract. I had to pump the brakes on the conversation that I needed to think on what I was gonna be financing. ***** assured me I have 3 days to make a final decision with the services but didn't want to answer my question if I were to decline the services with TaxRise within 3 day that the financing contract with **** was gonna be canceled. The guy couldn't even show me where on the contract was 3 day decision. only wanted to talk and read off the typical FOMO speel to my wife and putting pressure on her into signing c*** that I dont even think she knew what she was signing because financial hard ship we are in. The guy just wanted to argue with me and tell me that I wasn't understanding. I dont even know what the h*** was signed and if this c*** gonna hurt us finances even more down the road.

    Upon my husbands passing I found out we had a tax debt. (My husband handled everything prior to his passing) so I wasnt aware of any debt. Tax Rise assure me that they could handle the debt within 3 months from October 2023 when I paid them. Their load up process (for paperwork requested) never worked. One of their employees told me it was broken and had been for a while. Prior to me paying they were calling me numerous times a day and always available regardless of when I called. After they received my monies my calls went directly to voicemails never to be returned. Its been more than a year and half and not one thing has been done. I would like this fraudulent company to refund my monies and not be allowed to take advantage of another person especially when theyre at their lowest point in their lives.I never received anything from them therefore I dont have an account number or any paperwork from them.

    We made initial contact with Taxrise on March 21, we had a phone call with ***** ********. We were told that we can secure their services by giving them a $500 retainer that would be refundable if we did not get a satisfactory settlement. They set a follow-up phone call meeting for April 24. They said that the state of California was about to charge us $14000 on our $7000 tax debt, plus the addition of other fees and penalties the tax board would charge us with . At that point we decided to move forward based on how he represented our case, and they charged $1500 more to our credit card. I was told that we could cancel for a full refund if we contacted him (*****) within 72 hours and expressed our wish to cancel in writing. Later that day, my wife and I talked it all over between ourselves and decided to cancel their service. I immediately emailed ***** (I have the email still). The next day I texted him to follow up that he got my email. He emailed me back later that day to say that he would contact me on Monday, April 28, to go over the cancellation process. This was more than ********************************************************** writing several times to express my wishes to cancel and get a refund. He never contacted me back. I called the company several times and they said they would have him call, and then have a supervisor from their quality control call. No one from taxrise ever called or emailed or texted. I finally got through to ***** on the phone and he told me that the refund money had been approved and Id see it credited back to my card. After a couple weeks I still hadnt seen my money refunded so I called again and they told me my request for a refund was ********* they misled me about my tax situation to compel me to sign a contract with their company, misled me on how to cancel the service and then refused to refund my money when I made the request in writing. They also purposely delayed correspondence with me.

    04/22/25 and 4/22/25. Discussed with Taxrise on May8 and 10th concerning my extreme disappointment with the service (or lack of) the responses were not timely and feed back was severely lacking. On 06/02/ received a call from *** when I again informed them that I didn't need Tax rises assistance and was working directly with the ***.

    File a bb complaint tax rise state they could take our 8000 taxes we owed and get this reduced to a lower amount. The commercials show people that owed the *** ***** and they reduced it to $100 or someone else owed 200k and they reduced it to 24k. They made us pay 500 and they guaranteed they could lower what we owed. Only to find out nothing changed we still owed 8000 and that want to charge us more money and they stated we have good news the good news is you still owe 8000 but they can set us up on payments of 100 dollars for 72 months and no interest and we are not to pay the *** anything moving forward that we are to pay them and they will pay the *** they stated that it would take 4 to 6 months to go into effect but dont worry they would protect are assets home car etc. when my husband explained we had set up payments already and would could have are taxes paid off in 1 year they stated yes but they charge interest and we wont. I said yes but you want to charge us more money for your services and I do not feel comfortable not paying anything for 4 to 6 months to the *** . My husband and I both told them we was not moving forward and wanted are money back they had provided no services and done nothing for us but take are money. This is a huge scam and other people need to know

After reviewing the account, we can confirm that an initial investigation phase was completed based on the information provided at enrollment. As part of that investigation, a resolution option was identified, and a summary was presented during the call referenced in the complaint. While we understand the *** and Mrs. **** chose not to proceed with the proposed resolution, we would like to clarify that no additional fees were charged beyond the initial retainer payment which covered the tax investigation performed. As they decided not to move forward with our services at that point, no further work was performed, and their case was not advanced to the resolution phase. We take all complaints seriously and welcome the opportunity to speak further to address any remaining concerns. One of our representatives attempted to connect with *** and Mrs. **** on June 4, 2025, to finalize their cancellation request and discuss the concerns outlined in their complaint. During the call, they indicated they were unavailable and did not see a need to continue the discussion at that time. Our representative attempted to explain the purpose of the call, but *** and Mrs. **** requested a call back at a later time. We remain available and willing to speak further should they wish to revisit this matter or work toward a solution.
