It all started when I was lied to by there rep named ******* he promised a service that was a deal breaker for me he told me they contact the *** on my behalf to stop my payment plan that was a lie so now I'm stuck paying there company fees and the irs..They tied me into a third party lender who won't let me out of my contract unless Taxrise returns the funds, they have launched an investigations into me being mislead but I never received the outcome only that ******* no longer works there. They stall me by passing me around from person to person and different depts I was told I have to contact the irs myself which I did the Irs rep reduced my debt by **** so now when it's all said and done I'll owe the lender more than wht my debt is they've done nothing but lie and spin me .I'd like to know the findings of there investigation and was ******* fired .Once it was made obvious of his tactics I should have been given the opportunity to exit my contract. They said even if they terminated my contract I'd still owe the lender **** dollars so I'd be better off jus seeing it through How is this possible if it's for a service I'm not receiving..This company is the definition of crooksBusiness Response

Taxrise, is full of lies and misinformation. I was told in the beginning, I qualified could tax relief programs, I would be able to reduce the amount I owe, and 8 months later before the last payment is to be debited from my account, I am mailed papers from the *** setting me up for a payment, which I could have down myself, without paying anyone for their services. Taxrise is a total bait and switch, and takes advantage of those people who are scared and worries about what can happen with the ***. I would appreciate they do the right thing and refund all of the money they took from me, and that money I paid them I could be paying the ***. I hope this matter can be settled asap . A quality assurance team member reached out to me yesterday, she was going to go through the recording as well as speak to her supervisor. I have not heard from anyone today. I know I know I am going to hear we will negotiated for you and with that being said to me last night, was like a slap in the face, because nothing that was done, that I could have not done myself. From the beginning I was told there is debt relief programs and after reviewing my information I qualified for these programs, but in order to get started we need $650.00 dollars and set up a monthly payment plan. After tearfully explaining myself to ******* who is no longer there and was actually gone weeks after I enrolled, assured me I would get help, I should be able to get relief, I qualify for debt relief programs when in fact I did not. As of **** EST ****** from quality insurance did call me, and informed me she listened to my recording and heard where there misinformation provided, and she provided with information that my case worker who was never available failed to tell me. ****** told me she would speak with her supervisor again regarding what type of refund we could work out, like i explained to her, I know I signed what I thought was going to help me, however listening to the recording and hearing where the false information was provided I deserve at least Half if not more of I what paid refunded back to my. If I owe the *** ****** and I pay Taxrise ****, doesnt take a rocket scientist to see I would have use the money I paid Tax rise and pay the ***. Unfortunately at this time I do not feel there is any resolution

In 2018 my wife died and she owed over ****** in taxes. I reached out to this business and my daughter helped me pay over $4,000 to settle with the **** I spoke with ************************* only over the phone twice. After I paid the phone calls stopped and he requested information. I sent back the requested information 3 times and each time he emailed and said he was still waiting for the information to be faxed over. Thinking that it was me doing something wrong I reached out to my daughter and she faxed over the information twice. Each time I was told it was not received. I reached out to the *** personally about the debt and I was told that since me and my wife filed taxes separately that I did NOT owe the debt. ************************* stopped responding to the ********** have called and emailed this company numerous times for years with no resolution. They took advantage of me in a time where I was at my lowest and lost my wife of 30 years. I do not recommend this company at all. I hired the company TaxRise who has blatantly lied, misled, misrepresented and neglected my account. I was told repeatedly by the sales rep and manager that I am a perfect candidate for the *** tax reduction program, Promised me that there would be multiple attempts at a resolution and that they are confident that can reduce *** tax debt drastically. I gave them all of my information, income, debt, expenses, etc that they asked for to qualify me. ***** the initial sales rep and manager assured me I am a perfect candidate. Once I signed up, I was given a case manager who then told me the *** rejected the offer and that based on my income, expenses, etc... (which I had already given them prior to signing up) that I do not meet the qualifications for any debt reduction. This was information they already knew prior to me signing up but still lured me in with false hope, mislead me, and blatantly lied about multiple resolution. I am currently working with a lawyer to file a suit against them and will not be making any additional payments towards this loan. I want you to be aware of these circumstances. I rendered the accounting services of TaxRise **** to reduce my outstanding tax liability which they said they could do which is the whole reason for me rendering their services. After they requested all my tax information they confirmed that they would be able to remove my tax liability of nearly $5,000. In total they charged me $2,400 but after making monthly installments they never fulfilled their side of the agreement. Their "result" was they setup an a monthly tax payment plan which I told them I already had in place. They said after 5 years I wouldn't have to pay the remainder but would have to pay interest on it which is actually more. So on top of paying them $2,400 their resolution was I still have to pay my tax liability plus interest which was more then the initial finding. They told me they could and would remove my tax liability completely and they lied. I asked for my money back and they said they produced the desired results. I was scammed into paying $2,400 for a service that never happened. I want my money back.Business Response

On 10/25/2021 you signed a service agreement for us to negotiate a resolution with the *** on your behalf. *********** agreement mentions all the possible resolutions, one of them being an installment agreement. Based on your gross income, allowable expenses and assets, we have obtained the best possible resolution for you: a streamline installment agreement with a monthly payment lower than the previous agreement you were on. By making the fixed payments on the installment agreement for 72 months, you end up saving money on the balance you had at the time we entered the agreement, as well as any interest and penalties that you'd have accrued on that balance. The payment you made to us is the cost for our services, for the work we did in collecting your information and documentation and negotiating the best resolution possible. This was clarified via the compliance questionnaire we went over with you. We can not guarantee the exact amount you'd be saving as it depends on your specific financial circumstances as well as *** guidelines. I have audited your calls with our team and there was no promise of what the resolution would be as we cannot warrant one until the negotiation with the *** takes place. While an offer in compromise, where *** settles for a reduced amount to waive your liability, is a potential resolution we always consider for our clients, it won't always be applicable in every case. You literally charged me $2,400 for nothing. I already had installment payment s setup, this is fraud and want my money back. I will be voicing my opinion on any and every platform. How you can say you performed the service for which I entered into a contract with you for is a joke. I contracted your services because you said you could reduce my tax liability and that was after I gave you all of my information. Hiding behind the fine print in a contract just shows exposes fraud in your business model I even more. Dont except payment for a service you cant render, Ill continue to telling anyone and everyone one who will listen how this company is a scam. I started with Taxrise in December 2019. I have paid my full balance of over$6000. My cases manager has 5 times. I have sent in requested paperwork. It is November 2022 with no resolution in site. I am requesting a full refund.Business Response

I paid TaxRise to help with my *** Tax issues. I took out a loan for $3000 so they could help me with resolution to my back taxes. My mistake was not checking with the Better Business Bureau. This company has not done anything to help me. They said they came to an agreement with the *** but there is no evidence with the *** to show a payment plan has been agreed upon. And one of the years they said they filed my taxes for is showing it has not been filed. Now I still owe the *** and a separate loan for which I received NOTHING! I want my money back! I have been a client of Taxrise for 2 1/2 years, trying to reduce a tax liability for Tax year 2017. I have paid Taxrise approx $10K in monthly fees for their help in negotiating a reduction in my tax owed for that year. They have been making promises all along, and always state it wont be much longer. Meanwhile I made 30 months of $374 pymts to them for their service. I recently found out that they offered to settle my case for a $500 Offer in Compromise (OIC) Ive already paid 20 times that amount in pymts to them, plus the *** has kept my last 2 or 3 Federal Returns totaling another $8K toward my debt.I would have been better off negotiating the Tax bill myself. I supplied all the required documents, payments and filed for medical, income and death of spouse Hardships but I am no closer to resolution than I was 30 months ago. June 2021 Taxrise presented to me a settlement with the **** After presenting all of my documentation and paperwork that they requested. They said my case had a great chance of cutting my tax debt by more than half. My taxes owed was $107,000.00, due to me having to utilized my 401K for living expenses after not being employed for 2 years. The cost for having taxrise work with me was $17,000.00 and will end up be close to $33,317.00 after interest paid for the loan they provided to me. The settlement Taxrise got me was cut to $100,000.00, that means my debt went from $107,000.00 up to $133,317.00 for them helping me. I now have an additional payment of $396.63 for 7 years on top of the payment to the *** for $1,200.00 a month.Business Response
