    On 02/11/2025 I attempted to opt out of Background Alert using the information provided by Norton Privacy Guard as well as online information and was unable to access the web site to retrieve the information needed to opt out. Upon writing to the customer support center for ********************, I was provided the information shown in the "Background Alert email instructions.pdf" file attached. Upon clicking the link provided, I got the message shown in the "Background Alert opt out not reachable.pdf" attachment. I've tried accessing this link using ****** Chrome and ********* Edge on both my wife's and my laptops with the same message being displayed. I then tried accessing the opt out site from my mobile phone using both Safari and ****** Chrome but the same message results. I then looked for other sites related to background alert and found a Contact site and Disclaimer site shown in the "Other online sites.pdf" attachment. Neither of the sites were reachable as shown in the "contact site not reachable.pdf" and "Disclaimer site not reachable.pdf" attachments. I finally asked my daughter to try from her mobile phone and the same message was shown for her. I am coming to the conclusion that this company no longer has a viable way opt out of being included in their database. I've no idea what in the world is going on but have absolutely no trust in this company's integrity! I want an explanation as to what is going on!!

    If you are saying you are no longer in business, this would be sufficient.  I strongly doubt this is the case but please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Otherwise, if you continue in this business, there should be another means to opt out of being included in the Background Alert records that is well defined and easy to find.  I have been unable to locate such information anywhere.  Any responsible data broker should provide this information in some form online.  If not, how is someone to discover the procedure to follow to opt out of your database?  Or do you admit freely that you really don't care about anyone's privacy?

    I am very very concerned about a recent notification I received about this organization concerning the storage, sale, or distribution of my personal information. Upon reviewing this notification, I decided to exercise my right to opt-out. However, I cannot access the website, the website will not allow me to access my personal data file on the website **************************. I tried various search engines and the background alert website will not all me to access the opt our page. I do not give consent to the sale of my personal data and it is troublesome that background alert .com will not allow me to request removal. My information should not have been collected, stored, or used without my explicit consent. Therefore, I formally request that all personal information related to me be deleted and removed from your records and servers. Furthermore, I request written confirmation that my personal data has been permanently deleted and that no additional information will be required from me to complete this process. Thank you for addressing this matter promptly.I look forward to your confirmation of compliance.

    I am very very concerned about a recent notification from my AV software that I received about this organization concerning the storage, sale, or distribution of my personal information. Upon reviewing this notification, I decided to exercise my right to opt out. I have contacted them by phone and was advised my data would be deleted in 2-3 biz days, which as of this morning it STILL hasn't been. However, I noted that your opt-out process requires photo ID validation. I find this requirement inappropriate, as it necessitates providing additional personal information to facilitate the removal of data that, to my understanding, should not have been collected, stored, or used without my explicit consent. Therefore, I formally request that all personal information related to me be deleted and removed from your records and servers. Furthermore, I request written confirmation that my personal data has been permanently deleted and that no additional information will be required from me to complete this process.     On February 8, 2025, I was notified that Background Alert has my name and address listed. They also require a Driver's license upload.I tried to proceed to opt out, but the Driver's license is required. I am not assured this safe.I need my information removed.Please help.Thank you

    ******* securities notified me my information was on 33 websites and this is harmful& could be removed with the opt out process, the visit the website buttons message reads Adress not found,the web adress not only have my info but incorrect info as well.this is how ****************** maintain the ability to achieve their goals, I'd very much appreciate filing a claim to successfully remove my name.thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    Please assist me in getting my records deleted from background alerts database. I can opt out, but it requires me to provide an ID, (Driver's licenses are private in **) which provides the company with even more information about me. The ******* Privacy Law that went into effect on 1/1/25 states that I have the right to have my information deleted and not resold.Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

    Hello, I recently got notification from my data privacy company about the storage, sale, or distribution or my personal information and desired to opt out. When going through the process to opt out is required a photo ID validation. Not only am I not going to give the company more information to remove information that should not be stored anyways, but I just want my information deleted and removed from their servers as I did not consent to the use, replication, sale, or storage of my personal information. I would like confirmation that it has been removed in its entirety and that I do not need to supply more information to do so. Thank you!

    This company has my personal information freely available. Their system to remove the information requires uploading of a Photo ID, which I am not willing to do with an unfamiliar company. I would like my information removed from the website without needing to provide a Photo ID.
