I want my personal information removed from this people broker website that is known by threat actors as a resource for identity theft. When trying to do this using their opt-out procedure, they require that I send a picture of my drivers license through electronic means in order to complete that process. So I have to send more personal information to this lousy business just to have my personal information, which contains a lot of inaccuracies removed. I never opted-in! Please remove my PI from this website.Business Response

I have asked to have my information removed from the site. However, the business does not honor my request and insists on me having to provide an government issued ID. As I can see other complaints here have the same issue and the business reply states that an ID is not necessary. Why am I asked to provide an ID with additional personal identifiable information if the business states in its reply on here it is not required. VA does not even allow for an ID to be photocopied. Other companies have removed my data with a simple request.Business Response

My McAfee is set to track my personal information online. My husband and I both had our personal data compromised through a data breach at companies we had business with. I requested removal (***************************, PeopleWhiz) by email for both of our records ( they pulled together tons of personal info on ** just because they could and its wrong!). I sent screen shots per their request to identify the records from the email I provided you just now. They informed they wanted our IDs to remove the info. Totally inappropriate! Why would anyone give them even more personal info or have cause to delete someone elses info they never provided them in the first place. When an ID theft victim requests removal they should be required to do it!!! This is the first data broker to ask for ID and they should be stopped! I want our information removed right away.Business Response

I am trying to remove my name from the company database, but they require me to upload a copy of a valid id. This is an unsafe requirement that exposes people to identity theft and an invasion of privacy. This company is breaking the law and needs to be shut down. If they do not remove ALL my ********************** information from their site IMMEDIATELY, I will go to the local news, keep reporting them, and do anything else in my power to stop them.Business Response

I was notified by ********************* that my personal information was for sale on this website, including my familys info. Peoplewhiz offers an opt-out process, but it requires that I submit my ID (state license) to verify my identity?! This is a security risk on its own and provides additional personally identifiable information that I dont want this company to have! I should NOT have to do this to opt out. Other companies just require a valid email to confirm from.I am submitting a complaint to the BBB because this company should comply with a request without making it difficult for people to opt-out, and they certainly dont need additional personal information or my license to do it. Remove my information from your website, or I will file suit.Business Response

I recently got a notification on my Norton Lifelock that my personal data was found in two places on this website (peoplwhiz.com), as shown in my uploaded file (I am listed twice). Upon attempting to remove my data using the website opt out procedure, it came to a step requiring me to send in a valid personal government issued identification card. I already fear that this site is obtrusively using my personal data for financial gain, and nefarious reasons, and in order to remove my personal data they are now requiring MORE personal data and I believe this step is illegal and put in place specifically to discourage and prevent citizens from getting personal data removed. I am filing a complaint here, and in addition I will petition my congressman to inquire in the legality of this requirement, and further raise attention to this unnecessary and arduous process.Business Response

Received over 15 alerts from my credit reporting company Experien that peoplewhizzed keeps trying to use my name and address to possibly sell it on the web. I went to the company website to try and remove my personal information and they are asking for extremely sensitive information such as my license number to remove my information from their site. I do not wish to supply them with any additional personal information and would like my personal information removed from their database. Please help. Thank you.Business Response
