  This company has obtained my personal Information without my permission. I have opted out of their website and they request a copy of my ID. I dont not feel Comfortable and believe this is a scam. They need to remove my information immediately.

  I was informed by my internet security that Peoplewhiz is selling my personal private information. I requested my private information to be removed. The request has been accomplished with most other data brokers, but PeopleWhiz is requiring a drivers license or ID in order to have my personal information removed. Obviously, this is insult to injury and a scam to even receive more personal information from me. They are doing this to other people too as the complaints reflect. I am nor revealing any more of my information for them to sell on the darknet and boost their business. I am requesting for my information to be removed and that my private information not being commercialized by a borderline legal corporation. They got my information without me agreeing and showing an ID. So for removal, they should not be asking for an ID either.

  While using privacy software to prevent identity theft, it alerted me this company was selling my personal information online without my knowledge or consent. While visiting the companys website to request deletion of my personal information from their two different links, their website demanded I upload my ID to them, which ID would obviously compromise my personal information even further. I am not conducting business with this firm in any capacity, nor did I sign up for or authorize their dissemination of my personal information, and Im extremely uncomfortable providing them, or any entity, with my ID if Im not doing business with them by choice. Consequently, I want my information removed from this firm and all affiliated entities.

  I paid peoplewhiz. Com $22.95 for 3 months of their service. The first and only person I looked up was myself. It gave me addresses that were accurate, but it says I have no criminal record which is wrong, bcuz I do. It says I'm not married but I am. So it gave info that was not right, I was not satisfied. The state that I will be 100% satisfied which I am not! Then to add to my dissatisfaction, I looked up my husband who also has a record but they say no files been found on him or an ex boyfriend who also has a criminal past. So it won't even allow me to look anyone else up. So the statement of looking up how many people you want is B. S. I emailed them with my complaints today the same day of purchase, 7/26/23. After reading all the complaints on this business I don't want them to have the chance of charging my card more than 9nce and want my money back for the subscription I purchased. Please and thank you

  Note that phone provided is not functional. I do not USE phone - email only. But your website demanded a phone. I do everything in writing.This is related to a previous BBB case (********, 2/17/23) which you said you'd resolved on 2/25/23. I'm unable to access that case because when I click the link to it in the email you sent me, it says it's not available.This same company which I reported previously is creating new DBAs and then they are up to their same shenanigans. They are posting my private identity info publicly, then demanding that I give them a copy of my PRIVATE ID in order to get them to remove my info.They previously claimed they removed my info when they were DBA ****************.com, but now they have the same info posted on Peoplewhiz.com, and both sites demand a copy of your PRIVATE ID in order to get your info removed. Both companies are located at: ****************************************************************************** Obviously if I'm trying to protect my identity, the last thing I want to do is give some 3rd party that I've never done business with, and never consented to posting my PRIVATE identity online a copy of my ID. Additionally, I don't believe that request is even lawful in **********.And lastly, I've had to request removal of my info from dozens of these data aggregators and not one of them demands a copy of your ID to do so,. This company is alone in their mis-guided policy.I'm attaching copies of your resolution email, BackgroundAlert opt-out confirmation, and my most recent request to PeopleWhiz (DBA BackgroundAlert)

  The California Consumer Privacy Act does not cover the public records that Peoplewhiz provides. Even if it was covered under the ***** we do allow any individuals to remove their information from our database. We need to confirm the identity of the person requesting their information to be removed as there can be impersonations and a variety of listings that match their name. Confirming the ** streamlines the process from our end and is the most efficient way for us to remove this information. However, as a courtesy, we are able to remove the information of the individual without confirmation if they are uncomfortable further verifying their identity. In this case we have gone ahead and removed the listing from our database and they do not need to provide anything additional to complete the request.

  1 - this is not what they said previously, the LAST time I had to ask this same company (different DBA, same address) to remove my info

  2 - this company previously said they'd removed my info - then they created a new DBA (same address) and re-posted my info

  3 - why is this company creating new DBAs and perpetually creating this same problem for consumers who they've previously told they would remove their information?

  4 - NO other data aggregator demands people's ID to remove their info.  This entire approach, where they fail to see what a HUGE problem it is for a 3rd party that someone has NEVER done business with, and NEVER consented to have their data posted by, to demand a copy of your ID is completely mis-guided.  That is one reason why this DBA and this DBA alone is the ONLY data aggregator doing this

  5 - what they've said about CA privacy laws is inaccurate and a mis-representation

  6 - if they're going to demand copies of people's PRIVATE IDs to remove info, then they also must explain, in detail, how they insure that info remains PRIVATE, and is immediately and permanently destroyed after they've confirmed identity.  Based on the fact that they are the ONLY data aggregator with this policy, I have ZERO confidence that they wouldn't further mis-appropriate my identity data if they were given a copy of my ID

  7 - there are plenty of other ways to confirm identity than demanding that people hand over copies of their ID, if this is ACTUALLY the reason for this, but based on all the above, I have no confidence this company actually believes that or cares about anyone's privacy

  8 - this company should be further investigated by the BBB and FTC, for all the reasons listed above

  On July 26, I attempted to remove my name from the site's opt out function. They require an ID to proceed with the request. This should not be a requirement to opt out. Norton Life Lock has noted that this service sells personal information. I do not want my name and information on their list and should be able to remove it without providing them with a driver's license.

  I would like my personal information to be removed from the "PeopleWhiz" website peoplewhiz.Com. The website needs a photo ID emailed to take down personal information. With all of the identity theft and fake websites that mimic the actual site. Theres zero accountability and it violates HIPPA big time.
