      Rented a unit. Prices were similar to competitors, so not a short term deal etc. Finished moving in and within 3 months they jacked up the monthly rental over 50%!! i.e. went from 116 to over 180.Customer service was useless.

      The 680 Hegenberger location did not honor the 50% discount advertised. Further, on-site staff was unwilling to explain why the discount could not be applied. Instead of taking a few minutes to describe terms of storage unit, they resort to bullying and inflating circumstances to justify the need to immediately sign a storage agreement. The behaviors and decisions are not consistent with info provided by customer service. And the disconnect was attributed to the "Distrcit Manager" **** who was never available to untangled the mixed message. If there was a way to score 0, I'd do it.

      I as well, will leave a negative review based on the way they price units. The rents are raised 3-6 mo and all they have to give is 30 days notice. They run online specials all the time but they only apply to new customers, Customers that are existing, can not benefit. They only see rent increases after increases. And for a NEW CUSTOMER, that signs up one day online @$156 to take possession two days later , when pricing is $105 and asks onsite mgr for adjustment - can't do , reaches out to online chat- 3x - since no one can be reached on the phone , to inquire about the drastic reduction and ask for resolution they basically hang up on you. That $156 price is actually $89 today and they say there is nothing I can do. BUYER BEWARE . They spin a wheel daily on pricing, lowering it after people are locked in on a higher price. It's a roll of the dice for sure. GOOD LUCK

      (Chance Rd. ******** location) TERRIBLE COMPANY, extremely deceptive billing practices. when confronted about it, they made promises to reverse the charges but refused to put it in writing. Truly wish the worst on scam companies like this. Ive been waiting on a call back from the super busy manager for 2 weeks now.

      After Labor Day. I contacted public storage to let them know that I found my place to live and was approved to move in and now ready to take out both of my 2 storage units. Upon speaking to the manager *****. I was told that it doesnt really matter they still charge full month of September! I told him thats illegal to charge me a full month if I am taking it out by the 6th of September. He said well I agreed to their contract. I told ***** I have been using public storage throughout my life I have never heard being charged full month when I am taking everything out by the 6th of September! They should charge me prorated rates. He said no I have to pay full month on both of my storage units. Plus they charge extra fee if god forbid you leave a trash bag around this area! this place do not provide trash bins for you to conveniently throw trash! This is absurd! I pay $286 for 1 unit and 2nd unit for $178. For these kind of money is a lot to pay when you do no have the funds! I will never use public storage! I will choose others!

      DO NOT RENT FROM HERE, THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU! A couple weeks after moving into my unit, a large box truck was parked in a parking spot it was way oversized for directly outside my unit that severely limited my access. I wanted to store a motorcycle in my unit that I now do not have enough room to maneuver in due to the large truck and the fire hydrant its parked next to. I spoke to the staff on site at the facility and sent emails to public storage customer support with photos. I have seen no response or action in a month now. After no action by the staff on site and no email response from customer service, I closed out my unit before my next billing cycle. However I was told I would be responsible for paying for the entire upcoming month even though the unit was empty and the lock removed before the start of the new month and they threatened to send my info to a collections agency. I finally managed to talk to someone on the phone who is clearly reading from a script to deny any and all customer complaints. My last resort is to leave negative reviews with my experience on every platform I can in the hopes I can warn as many people as possible to take their business elsewhere.

      I do not recommend PUBLIC STORAGE to anyone. My rent was raised from $50 to $163 over a 5 year period. The management is rude. The day a removed my belongings from storage, I hired someone to haul off the trash but he wasnt able to come until the next day. Approximately two hours had passed and I got a phone call telling me to get the trash removed or I would be charged up to $500 for PS to haul it off. No trash dumpster is available on site. I informed them I am 78 years old and doing the best I can.

      Ridiculous price increases: Our storage was previously owned by Simply Self Storage and it was great. They had modest price increases yearly and I expected that. Then Public took over. We have a 10x30 storage. At the end of 2024 we were paying $344. They raised it to $427 01/01/25. Now I just got an email that its going up to $500 on 10/01/25, less than a year since the last increase. Even my apartment doesnt go up this much. Youd think theyd want to keep people long term by cutting them some slack on pricing but apparently theyre just in it to bilk people for as much as they can get.

      I wish I could leave a review with no stars. Do not ever rent from these guys. First, their website misinformed me that I could store a vehicle in the unit. When I got there, the manager informed me that the door is much smaller in width than the unit that said drive-up access and vehicle storage on the website. So I handed the keys back to the manager and said to cancel it. Well, he never did. A week later, it looked like the account was still active. I called customer service and after being transferred and cut off several times, they informed me that unfortunately they could not give me a refund for the months that were paid for. So after $500, I never used the space because of their inaccurate description. Manager at the facility was really nice, but their customer service (especially ****** with a Y) was terrible!!! Im not kidding that Ive only gotten mad at a customer service person a few times ever in my life and this was one of them. She even said a customer service supervisor would call me back within 48 hours, and now its 7 days later and Im still waiting. Im going to just call it a loss though, because I cant go through all that again. Ugh. Terrible isnt a harsh enough word.

      I had a terrible experience at this Public Storage location. My items were severely damaged, and the service was completely unprofessional and rude. The staff is rarely on-site, making it extremely difficult to get help when needed.When you walk into the storage area, theres even a large cage clearly meant to catch rats which tells you everything you need to know about how poorly maintained this facility is. I would never recommend this location to anyone. Avoid it at all costs.
