1 starI am a physician applying for part-time work helping the ********* hospital in *************. As part of that arduous process, I am required to request (and pay for) a "self-query" from the *************************** Base. In essence - I am asking them to send a list of law suits, complaints, issues etc to ME. As part of this process - they need to verify who I am... which they farm out to a third party (EXPERIAN) OR you can print out a form, drag it to a notary have it signed and upload it. For this same application - I did this already but now the Mass medical board wants it again because it's been over 30 days. BOTH times I applied for this self-query I could not be verified through Experian because I got my answers wrong. (Let that sink in - I got my own personal answers --- according to Experian ---- WRONG)2020 auto loan bank? bought car cash (none of the above)How many bedrooms in your home? (2 in the current apartment; 3 in the house the year before) I tried both.Line of credit bank? (I have never taken a line of credit)Previous employer (none listed where I've worked)I failed before (had to have a notary verify) and I failed this time (3 tries). Always the same questions.THEY WILL NOT ANSWER THE ****** THEY HAVE INACCURATE INFORMATION AND THEIR LAZINESS IS COSTING ME MONEY AND TIME.Experian Consumer Services

1 starHORRIBLE phone tree system. Keeps you in a loop and you get nowhere trying to talk to a person. Then it says goodbye.I think there is a security leak at Experian. I say this because my girlfriend has MY there vehicles on her report and HERS are not there!!How did that happen? Since when did "dating" combine my personal stuff into hers?? I've been trying to talk to someone about it and when I DID get thru, they couldn't do anything and the supervisor will call me WITHIN 3 days. They can't update my account, my files are frozen and I have to wait 7 days for a PIN number to be mailed to me to unfreeze it (person on the phone couldn't do it!)HORRIBLE!!!!Experian Consumer Services

1 starI think your web site is a fraud. You show us our credit score model 8 but their are other models that the bank uses. So we think our credit score is good, then find out from the bank is 40 or more points lower from the model that the bank uses. Then you want us to sign up for boost so you have more of our info and it's not going to change the banks credit report that they pull.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) concerning your score. Our records indicate you enrolled in our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership on October 2, 2022 and this membership is still active. As for your score, we realize that you may have seen a discrepancy in the score you received from a bank or other lender related to your credit application and the score provided as part of your membership. We try to make it a point to inform our customers that various scoring models are available in the marketplace and have different potential uses. For instance, we include a disclosure on our site describing the score provided with the credit monitoring membership you purchased. Here, the score that is provided as part of your membership is the FICO(R) 8 model based on Experian(R) data. It is a score that many lenders use in the credit application decision-making process. FICO(R) Scores, ranging from 300 to 850, are developed by Fair ***** Corporation which specializes in developing credit-scoring systems for lenders and other businesses. This can help you see and understand how lenders may view your credit worthiness. It is used by many lenders and is indicative of your overall credit risk. Certain industries may use custom credit scores that are tailored to their specific needs. The custom scores may be unique to a specific industry, such as mortgage lending or auto lending. These custom scores may be created based on information found in credit reports together with other information from the lenders own portfolio, such as account history. We hope that this provides you some clarity as to the discrepancy between the two scores you received and the various scores available in the marketplace.Review fromRichard E

1 starMy credit score dropped 16 points FOR NO REASON(( OR MAYBE THERE IS A REASON)) AND the reason being is that experian scores are manipulated > I have 2 inquiries &a paid collection getting ready to fall off this month and experians system KNOWS THAT!!! I'm sure the points will come back BUT inshort il get NO RAISE TO MY SCORE FOR THOSE ITEMSBEING DELETED!! Experian pulls this type of manipulated bs on my account every month.. the day before all my credit cards and loans start reporting MY SCORES DROP 3 OR 4 POINTS>> THEN after everything reports my scores go.up 3 or 4 points!!!? So again I get no score increases for 13 accounts reporting EXCELLENT ??? YUP. so yes experian is manipulating my scores to keep me held down to 740 to 780 range!! Dont trust our ridiculously manipulating DECIEVING credit bureaus!! Their discriminating, racist and yet we still get credit scores from a COMPUTER &SCORING MODEL THAT WAS DESIGNED 25 YEARS AGO!! WHAT A JOKEExperian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) concerning your score. Our records indicate you enrolled in our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership on December 12, 2019. This product is the same product you are using to monitor your credit file currently. As for your score, your FICO(R) Score is calculated based on the data in your credit report at the time you request your credit report and score. Every time you request a new score, a new credit report is pulled, and your new score is calculated based on the information in your credit report, up to once a day. Be aware, your credit report *** change often. Differences in your score *** be due to a change in balance on one or more of your credit cards, payment updates, or the addition of new accounts. Even the fact that your account(s) is one month older can affect your score. If there are inaccuracies on your credit report, these could also be affecting your score and should be disputed directly with the credit-reporting agency providing that information. In general, there are many factors that can affect an individuals credit score, such as payment history, current debt, available credit to debt ratio, etc. The actual scoring model and its calculations are proprietary to Fair ***** Corporation. Credit scores are usually calculated based on the combination of all the credit factors in your credit report. Your credit score is not based solely on one single item or behavior. So although you *** have done something that you think should have changed your score, the FICO(R) Score actually looks at how this information combines with other information in your credit report and how, if any, this changes your credit score. Your score *** go up, down, or remain constant depending on each factor as well as a unique combination of factors. The score analysis section that comes with your FICO(R) Score should help you understand what specific credit factors had a positive and negative affect on your FICO(R) Score. We hope this information is helpful when considering this matter.Review fromJeremías P.

1 starThey have the worst system in place for customer **********************. Ive been trying to lift a freeze & havent been able to get into my online account because apparently someone created one in their name using my social. Now through fax only I have to send them paperwork confirming my identity so they can delete the fraudulent account. I dont have regular access to fax but thats the only way theyll take ******** that Ive done it they still say they wont contact me for another 3-5 days. It was hassle trying to even get a hold of a live person & each time I do its like they struggle to even pull up my information. So now I have to wait when theyve already confirmed everything by phone. In the meantime Im here stressing if Ill ever be able to open any new lines of credit because of this.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) concerning an enrollment to manage your freeze. The account that was previously using your social security number has been deleted from our records. As a non-member you may follow the directions below to establish an account to manage your security freeze. We recently updated our processes for administering security freezes. To add or remove a security freeze, a consumer must initially visit www.experian.com/freeze. Existing Experian members will be prompted to sign into their membership. Non-members will be prompted to create a free membership in Experian CreditWorksSM Basic or to create an Experian Service Account. Experian CreditWorks Basic is a complimentary product of Experian, which provides consumers access to their Experian report and FICO Score once every 30 days, free of charge, along with monitoring alerts which are updated daily. In contrast, an Experian Service Account does not involve enrollment in a membership. It is an online portal through which consumers may log in to manage a security freeze, as well as submit disputes and review dispute results. At this time we would like to express our regret that your experience with www.experian.com may not have met your expectation or our standard of excellence. We strive for exceptional customer satisfaction and hope we have addressed your area of concern to your expectation.Jeremías P.

Thank you for responding to my issue. I know my review sounds really bad but it was what I was experiencing. My main issue was not having any sort of feedback or follow-up initially so I was upset about that. My issue has been resolved and so I thank you very much for following up.Review fromLevente M

1 starI wanted to dispute a credit score change. I have an unlimited credit card and I have a limited credit card, yet Experian looks at the utilization of both of the cards and compares it to the limit of one card. Even though I have autopayment on both cards, i have a very good standing on both cards, I have _never_ had any late payments and have 1 year of credit history, yet Experian decreased my credit score. When i tried to contact them, I was unable to get to a representative, because I was asking about score report. This is a joke. My credit score is hurt, because Experian cannot properly handle different credit lines, even though I am as perfect as I can get as a a credit line holder.Experian Consumer Services

1 starCompletely illegal and fraudulent. I have a great credit score-this is not about that. This is about the fact that they somehow created a recurring charge for $21.95/month for a monthly credit report (who needs a monthly credit report?) out of nowhere. When I tried to contact them, their computerized customer ********************** system wouldn't let me talk to anyone, and wouldn't even let me in without demanding that I input my full SS# (they, of all people, should know better.) I had to cancel the charges by declaring fraud with my credit card. They are actively stealing from people - please use a different bureau if you need a credit report.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) about your membership. Our records indicate you enrolled in our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic on September 14, 2022, and this is still active. As part of a paid Experian membership, Experian CreditLock allows you to easily and instantly control access to your Experian credit report in real time with one click without having to remember your PIN or state-specific regulations associated with a traditional security freeze. Locking your report adds an additional layer of security to your credit information and will remain in place until you Unlock your report. When you lock your report, you will receive an alert notification when we detect activity on your locked report, such as attempted inquiries to open new lines of credit. I n contrast, a security freeze on your credit report prohibits us from releasing any information in your credit reports without your express authorization. A security freeze is designed to prevent credit, loans, and services from being approved in your name without your consent; however, using a security freeze *** delay, interfere with, or prohibit the timely approval of any subsequent requests or applications regarding a new loan, credit, mortgage, insurance, government services or payments, rental housing, employment, investment, license, cellular phone, utilities, digital signature, Internet credit card transaction, or other services, including an extension of credit at point of sale. There is no fee for placing or removing a security freeze on a credit report. 1 starUnconscionable 'customer **********************'! I could not access my account to lift my credit freeze I had placed on my account, no matter what I tried, and NO way to speak or email or message a human being! result: unable to open a credit card simply because they pulled info from Experian! Also impacts opening a bank account! How can this be legal???? our government needs to do something about this agency, and protect consumers from their chokehold on our financial lives! and by the way, I have excellent credit - but still could not open the card of my choice, simply because of Experian!Experian Consumer Services
