1 starI purchased a pit boss ***** table top grill from ******. Removed it from the box. Put it together. Filled the ****** with pellets. Primed the grill and lit it. I set the temperature on the grill to 300 degrees for 30 minutes to do the burn off process. During the process the auger came loose and was sticking out in the fire pit.I then called the manufacture of pit boss, which is Dansons. Only to find out that they will not warranty the grill. Is all they will do is replace the bad parts. In other words there is not a warranty on the pit boss grill itself. The company is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau.Dansons

5 starsI have to leave a review that contradicts most of these. Usually what prompts a review is being disappointed so typically these sites are going to be low reviews.I have a Cabela's Pro Series 24 that was made by ******** that we've had for about 6 years.I've had some issues with it, but it's usually my mistake.Being 6 years old, the flame broiler/sear plate is starting to fall apart. I did a ****** search, but it didn't even show Dansons as being the ones who made it, but I remembered the name from when I bought it so I called customer support thinking there was little chance for help, especially on a Saturday.The person that helped me to my surprise was a native English speaker that I could understand. (I have no issue with foreign tech support; other than sometimes I can't understand what they're saying and communication is important)Unfortunately, they didn't have the parts in stock, so I was given the part numbers needed so I could search myself and also was told to call back in a few weeks if I couldn't find anything. They couldn't guarantee that they would get the parts in since it's a discontinued model, but he did also ask that I get measurements, and they would try to find a substitute that would work for *****, I didn't even get my issue fully resolved, but I appreciated so much the time that the person took to actually care about doing whatever they could to find a part and their willingness to keep my grill going (a unit that they only produced for a third party, not one of their brands) instead of just brushing me off and telling me to buy a new grill.I'm sure like all brands they have some models with issues, but I can't imagine complaining about their support and commitment.Review fromJeff H

1 starI question, how this company, stays in business. I thought I did my research and was beyond excited to spend my money on the Pitt Boss. I got then 850 and loved it, but soon realized I wanted to upgrade so I dipped into my wallet and got the 1150DX. Regret is not a sufficient word to describe my current situation. Since *** had the grill it has wanted to do a simple firmware update. The app, which has more 1 stars than any others combined, is trash. The app errors out randomly, and the firmware update will not work. I replaced the controller to try and solve the issue and nothing! Another infuriating call to what I loosely call customer service, and nothing but its your WiFi. Now I have to spend over two hours on the phone with my ISP, combing through every inch of my internet, and get ready for it, ITS NOT MY INTERNET! I even installed a VPN to try another tactic, at the suggestion of my ISP and yep you guessed it, nothing happened. The main reason I bought the Pitt Boss was the sear function, which I love, but now I wish I hadnt become involved with the ********* company at all. When I came here to leave a review, I was shocked at how many bad reviews were left and the amount of the same problems were noted here. Dansons/Pitt Boss do you just not care? Howd you get to this point when you are knowingly turning out bad products with faulty electronics? Stand behind your product and fix the issues your customers are telling you they are having. I for one will never, NEVER recommend your product to anyone. If I am at Lowes or *********** or anywhere else your grills are sold, I will warn everyone of the perils associated with owning your product.Review fromjason m

1 starMy wife purchased a Danson's Louisiana Black label ***************************************** 2023. Since that point I have been unable to successfully cook one meal from start to finish. First start up it quit working and started to flash auger. I called and was sent a new auger. upon installation the unit worked long enough to season the unit. It started to flashing auger again and I was sent a control panel. I installed it and was on my way to cooking or so I thought however I was able to smoke salmon. From that point forward it has been nothing but downhill. I have now replaced the control panel, the ignitor, the wiring harness. I just got off the phone again and now they are sending a new power cord and another control panel. They will not listen and this has been the worst purchase we have ever made. I would never recommend this company or product as it has been completely useless. I should not be dealing with these issues on a ******* grill! The company will gladly send parts, how about just a grill that works. We entertain and enjoy family time outside. We have been unable to do what we purchased this grill for. It will go to the dump without resolution. I bought the smoker to cook on, not to work on. This has been the worst purchase I have ever made! DO NOT BUY FROM ******"S unless you like spending your free time working on the grill.Review fromGary K

1 starI purchased a combo smoker/grill new. The flame on the grill side wasnt sufficient to cook food. I contacted customer service twice including a video session so the repair expert could view the grill. He diagnosed it as a faulty regulator and sent me a new one. After installation the problem persisted and I called a local repair company as Pit Boss couldnt properly diagnose and remedy the issue after two attempts. The local repair technician found that the wrong gas injectors had been factory installed and would not allow enough gas to fire the burners sufficient to grill food. Parts, labor, and trip charge amounted to $245. Pit Boss supervisor, ****, refused to pay or even split the cost even after acknowledging it was a factory error. 1 starWe have had our smoker for about 2 years when recently we started having major electrical problems with the unit. Immediately, we called customer service in which we were sent some replacement parts. Again, a call was made and more parts were sent. Installed them, same problems. Today, installed the next round of replacement parts. Still not working. More parts sent. Wires were melted, fans were melted. Which indicates at some point, something was on fire internally. This is extremely dangerous and time consuming having to replace all these electrical components. This unit is very clearly defective and dangerous. I have proof of purchase and nothing is being done besides wasting my time and I would appreciate this being addressed timely and productively.Review fromGreg and K

1 starWe purchased a Dansons Pit Boss BBQ (Wood ************ Combo Grill) in early 2022. In early 2024, one of the burners on the gas side stopped working. Our attempt to get the burner replaced so we could grill and entertain again was the start of a maddening string of interactions with Dansons and Pit Boss customer service and corporate offices. Over the course of several months we received a lot of platitudes and empty promises from their ********** headquarters as well as ineptness by their customer service department in ********, *******. When we first reported the problem and the promised replacement part did not come a month later, a call revealed they no longer manufacture that part. They did not have the courtesy or business sense to let me know and wed still be waiting if I had not followed up. After this point, they shipped me wrong sized and fitting replacement burners on three occasions. All along, I was told **** got you and well get you grilling again soon. In the end, nothing was fixed and we missed out on a summer of entertaining. We eventually sent the grill to the landfill. I cant express strongly enough how disappointed we are in *** Boss, largely based on their poor customer service. We will never purchase one of their products again (nor other Dansons grills - Louisiana Grills and Country Smokers).Dansons

I provided documentation during the first call to customer service. I did not receive a request for further documentation during the entire multi-month process of trying to fix this. When Pit Boss had not sent the promised replacement part a month later, I called back and found out that model was no longer available and they were just sitting on my request. Ultimately, I contacted senior leadership in **********, where over the next couple of months I received promises to "get me grilling soon" but wrong parts and platitudes were all that came my way. The grill is gone to the landfill as it was useless. Something that should have been an easy fix (and under warranty) drug on all summer long so a summer of entertaining was not possible, and ruined. I almost never reach out to companies with complaints and most people will tell you I'm very slow to anger, but my interactions with Pit Boss and the money and summer BBQ memories lost have me outraged.Review fromMichael O

1 starGarbage product. Horrible customer service, Don't stand behind the garbage they produce. Make you jump thru hoops for things that should be covered under warranty. Control panels burn out. Screws strip easily. Hold times are ridiculous.Dansons
