On November 27 I received an email from Birch lending stating that my loan was being processed. However, I did not apply for a loan through Birch lending so this is obviously a case of fraud. When I contacted Birch lending on November 29 they required me to give personally identifiable information in order to cancel the loan application. However, its this very information that somebody needs in order to fill out a loan application in my name (and commit fraud). Submitting this complaint, because they refused to delete the application without me providing sensitive information, such as the last four digits of my Social Security number.Initial Complaint

I was directed to this company to take out a small loan when funds were tight. As stated by another consumer, when signing up for this loan it only shows you your next four payments leading you to believe that you'll be done after those are paid off. When reviewing the loan paperwork, it now says that $1200 loan is going to cost over $6000 in payments. Thats 500% ********. This needs to be shut down. The max ******** rate for my state is 12%. Tribal or not, this is fraud. According to the 4 payments they had listed originally, they should owe ME $85.44Initial Complaint

I am copying the same verbage from a previous complaint because I experienced the exact same problem. I didn't go as far as calling ***Fargo because I don't have an account with them anymore. Informed me that they gave me a loan for $1200. I did not take a loan out with this company and when I call them all they are interested in is getting my personal information. The place they said they sent a loan to is not even at my bank. I contacted ***** Fargo, the place they said my loan was at in one of the emails. **************** shows no record of any money loaned to me. Every call I make to them is trying to collect personal information to " Look up my account". Now they are attempting to collect a loan I never received or asked for by "use of a 3rd party collection service". Each time the email sent are asking for a different amount of money and terms and want my information to sent them money on a loan I never took out or received from them. Enclosed are the the emails from this company. You will note in one of the emails they said I was approved for a loan and that I just needed to e-sign for it. I never did anything of the sort, nor did I ever respond to them. All of a sudden a loan is issued to an unknown account. I have not sent any funds to this company.Initial Complaint

I borrowed $500 from this company, and I paid $1500 towards the loan and I have found out that I only paid $43 towards my principal with 21 occurred payments weekly . This is fraudInitial Complaint

This company straight up lies to their clients and steals hard earned money. When signing up for this loan it only shows you your next four payments leading you to believe that youll be done after those are paid off. Theyre trying to now say a 1200$ loan takes 6000$ in payments. Thats 500% interest. The fact the government isnt shutting down this terrible practice to protect us is ridiculous. This goes against all usury laws and they try to get around it because they mention it has to do with being a tribal company.Initial Complaint

I was directed to this company for a small loan of $1,200. As I was completing the agreement process I read in detail the loan agreement. This agency was attempting to charge me over 600% interest with repayment of $650 a month. The total cost of this $1,200 loan would have been over $10,000. I find this to be not only predatory but criminal and fear for people that don't know better and don't read the full agreement. When I called them to ask them to remove my information and withdraw my application they offered me what they considered a better deal. This deal included repayments of $550 a month with an interest rate of over 500%. I was absolutely disgusted with the predatory nature of this company as it is usually lower income people that are searching for smaller loans between $500 and $2,000.Initial Complaint

I took out a loan with this company and didnt know at the time it had a higher interest rate than even allowed in my state, I have paid over $1650, my original loan was for $1470. they have even took double payments on some paydays that dont reflect my account. My husband has since been laid off, and we can not repay anymore. Please consider this loan paid in full as I have paid more than I borrowed, and close my account and do not take anymore money.Customer Answer

I got a loan from this business of $750 and they expected me to pay them 20 payments of $230 and they took that amount of money out of my bank account without my permission or authorization since I didnt signed any agreement saying otherwise and they sent me a phony agreement with a check mark * and signature so I sent them the one that I did online on there website that I downloaded on my phone and the document agreement on it has no check mark * or authorization or signature on it and now they owe me back all of the money that they took on and it was more then once they took out $230 out of my bank account and I found out later that these people are nothing but scammers scamming people out of there money and now they owe me $1050.19 !!!!!!!Customer Answer

Also I will like to add that in the beginning when I talked to one of their people in a text message I asked them if I can pay online since I felt more comfortable with doing that and they told me that I could. So that was why I never signed any agreement or gave them permission to take money out of my bank account whatsoever and the reason why my bank account is on the document was only for them to put money into my bank account not to take it out at all only to put in .Initial Complaint

I had never even heard of this company till I recieved an email stating I had a payment coming up. Their rate is over 600% and I know that I would not have agreed to that. They take $289 twice a month and I'm now finding out that that doesn't even go to the principal and if I make an extra payment I still get charged $289 twice a month until my loan is paid off. Can not get anyone to answer my calls. I made a $125 extra payment on September 5th and although payment is out of my bank it is not reflected in my principal. I truly believe I was scammed.
